Nurses: New ANMAC application procedure from 15th January
Richard Gregan posted a topic in Visa Chat
ANMAC announces new online application process from 15th January From 15th of January, ANMAC are introducing a new online application process. The current application process will be closed from 15th December until the new service opens on the 15th January. The biggest change is that ANMAC will now accept colour scans of original documents - no more certifications! Prior to the application, applicants (those submitting full applications) must have arranged for their registration verification to be sent directly to ANMAC from their nursing authority. The full processing fee will also be reduced from $600 to $515. Hopefully, the new system will allow for faster assessment times although this remains to be seen. In addition to the standard full assessment and the modified assessment pathways, ANMAC will be introducing a new 'modified PLUS assessment'. This will allow those applicants who have a current 'Notice of in principle Australian Registration' to apply for an assessment. This offers an assessment pathway to those who have been awarded Australian registration but have not yet activated their registration. The modified assessment and the modified plus assessment are both charged at $340. Regards, Richard -

Sorry to hear about that, but yes, ANMAC are moving to an online application process which opens on 15th January. All documents can be uploaded as colour scans of original documents - no more certifications! The fee is also reduced from $600 to $515. So if you can wait until 15th January then you could reapply. the assessment time is likely to be quicker too. Regards, Richard

A new ANMAC application service goes live on 15th January. You just pay once to have registration sent, but you can specify up to 5 addresses. NMC tend to state that you must already have an open application with a reference number, but we have had clients who sent theirs prior to setting up an online application and it was still linked up with the application later. However, due to the possibility of the registration getting lost in ANMAC's office, it's probably a good idea to open an application first and get a reference number for NMC to use. Regards, Richard

Help please, work experience points!
Richard Gregan replied to lisawhite123's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
I see, in that case hold off and build up a bit of extra work experience would be my advice, as long as you have no other imminent deadlines that is. Regards, Richard -
Any particular qualification's AQF equivalency varies from country to country. For example, in the UK, an NVQ 3 or SVQ 3, or Advanced City & Guilds is considered equivalent to an AQF 3. NVQ 2s on the other hand are unlikely to be accepted, although not impossible. Anything below that then no chance. You are better off looking at an AQF assessment from an RPL provider. Regards, Richard

Make sure you have *all* documents to hand prior to making payment. Regards, Richard

aphra..do u need a job first now?
Richard Gregan replied to KangaKit's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
AHPRA do require employment evidence as explained above, so if an applicant hasn't worked at all since registration then they have a problem - not a likely scenario but worth pointing out. -
It varies from country to country, but clearly your qualification was not equal to the Australian AQF 3 level requirement for the occupation. Depending on how much work experience you have, an option for you may be to undertake an AQF application via a registered AQF provider. You can then use the AQF to reapply, but you will need at least 6 years' verified, full time paid work experience to meet TRA assessment requirements for AQF holders. Regards, Richard

What NMC mean is that you should have an ANMAC reference number, which you will have if you have already filled out and paid for the ANMAC online application. you can give this ref number to NMC to put on the letter when they send out verification. Despite what NMC say however, this is not strictly required, as we have had applicants who have arranged for their NMC verification to be sent to ANMAC even before they have filled out the online application - ANMAC keep the verification on record and they link it up with your application when it arrives. It's preferable to get a reference number though, as we've found the registration verification doesn't always arrive, or gets lost in ANMAC's office, so anything which makes it easier to link up with your application is a good thing. No, you need to verify around three months employment in the last 5 years though. Regards, Richard -
Help please, work experience points!
Richard Gregan replied to lisawhite123's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
You can do the skills assessment now, and then wait until you have the additional two months, add some additional pay evidence to bring employment up to date and then submit the EOI. Or wait until you have the extra employment and then do skills, but it is possible to get a skills assessment and then add employment experience to it, via additional up to date evidence. Whatever you do though, don't submit any EOI until you have a positive skills result letter and ALL relevant evidence to back up the employment you are claiming. Regards, Richard -
English Language/British Passport - IELTS Points
Richard Gregan replied to Placid Casual's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Many people report a better result (and overall experience) with PTE, but it really comes down to the individual. Others do ok with IELTS. The British Council website has practice tests you can try, and you can find lots of helpful advice on You-tube. Regards, Richard -

Please bear in mind that all processing times are estimates. ANMAC's processing time fluctuates, from 3 weeks anything up to 12 weeks. At the moment, they have 7 weeks on their website. As stated earlier, the processing time is from the receipt of all documents. Regards, Richard

ANMAC assessment for enrolled nurses and invitation
Richard Gregan replied to Jot Kaur's topic in Visa Chat
Hi Jot, The enrolled nursing route is for those who already have enrolled nurse registration in Australia. Unless you already have Australian registration then you can't apply to ANMAC with your foreign diploma. Regards, Richard
