I "failed" the first two times, this time I got 9/9/8.5/9. So really it's sometimes just a case of luck (I think the one I passed on 22/10 was just an easy paper or something)... don't give up.

Hey Dono -congrats, mate!

What were your first two scores? only asking for statistical purposes  lol

Any help or advice out there with the writting as i found the question hard to answer in the time as it was my first test in 16 years.:arghh::arghh::arghh:

Why not get some practice material and do a few practice runs? There's quite a few books to download on the net (can't remember where but google them) as well as textbooks that you can use. Some even come with audio CD's to do a practice run of the listening test :)

PM me and I can send you soft copies of a book I have?

Who was the writing examiner on your test? Look at the code towards the bottom on the left hand side. Mine was 082491.

Would be interesting to see if they mark harder than everyone else!

Not a happy bunny... results worse than last time!

7.5, 8.5, 7 and 9! this is not funny!

Why can the scores change so much from test to test?

first test 7.5, 6.5, 8, 9

second test 9, 9, 7.5, 9

third test as above...gutted!

mate if your second test only had the 7.5 in writing, ask for a remark while you're rebooking the next test - totally worth it

Hi Sol2Oz

I already did that and wasted £60...the result remained the same!

The annoying thing is, i teach English and have subject specialism in the subject at degree level and without sounding 'cocky' i know what i submitted this time for writing was not a 7 according to the grade descriptors on the IELTs website. The last time i could probably accept because i wrote in pen and there was several crossings out.

Sorry to chunter on but i am annoyed with the whole process and i find it really frustrating that the marks can be so varied from test to test.

Not sure about a 4th time...have emailed DIAC to see if my subject specialism could be used instead. If not might just go for the 475 option...it seems to me likethe whole IELTs milarky is a money making scam and we are the numpty's who are jumping through the hoops. they should have kept the 'superior' at 7s in my opinion.

Well done to everyone who got the result they needed though!
