    IELTS 22 October

Is anyone here taking the IELTS on 22 October? This is my third attempt at this exam - last time scored 9/7/9/9 - yep, a big fat 7 on the reading. Perhaps someone can train me on how to decipher the exact wording IELTS require when writing down the answers? Seems like I need training in hieroglyphics. IELTS Reading... you've got 40 minutes: :goofy: :goofy:

    Arriving in Melbourne mid October

Hello fellow travellers! I've taking a chance and got my WHV, now what. I'm looking at arriving in Melbourne around the 14th of October find work for a few months and make my way up in the new year. I'm more than happy picking fruit for a living and just wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat as I'll be a lone traveller. Say hi!

    13th October 2014 - Melbourne

Hey NEWBIE Pom here guys! Decided to finally bite the bullet March this year and applied for my first WHV, after a bit of time and saving have now booked my flight for the 13th October! (Nervous but excited.) Unfortunately am currently travelling alone but Id hope to meet other people once out there. Lucky enough to be starting off with some family friends in Melbourne but after this I would like to quickly get out there into the hostels and meet other travellers. In terms of a 'plan', there are many things I would like to see and do, this would involve travelling from Melbourne up the east cost to Cairns. Babbled on enough now, come say hey!

I'm looking forward to getting out there and discovering the city and the people who live there, so please get in touvh if you can help Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you soon, Ellie

  8. Hi Everyone ! Me and my finance and our little 1 year old girl are moving to Perth in October Im 20 years old and looking to meet other young mums to make friends with. Anyone out already or going out soon, let me know x
  9. Hi This is the situation. My husband and I have flights booked for Perth on the 15th October 2012. We have spent what can only be described as forever, looking for a short term rental for when we arrive to allow us time to secure a longer term rental. It has proven painful as there doesn't seem to be such a thing as budget accommodation in WA that doesn't cost at least $100 a night. We are not being picky as we don't even mind living a bit further out of Perth we just want somewhere to lay our heads at night. If anyone has any suggestion or words of wisdom, or even a room for us to sleep in, could you please help! I value every piece of feedback on this forum and it has been a great comfort to me during the whole visa process, so I am hoping it will save me now! Thank you in advance Lisa x

  12. Hey, Some of you might know me from previous nights out that I've planned, well I might arrange another one this weekend if anyone fancies it. It's the AFL grand final day; I'm not really interested in it but it's a lively day out on the Melbourne calendar so it should be fun. I spent the day around Fitzroy and Collingwood last year but I'll wait to see what sort of response I get before deciding on a place for this Saturday. Cheers, John

    Mornington Meet up 2nd October

There is a Britvics / PIO meet up in Mornington park on Sunday 2nd October. I will get there about midday or before to put up a Scottish flag so anyone going for the first time can see where we are meeting. Don't be shy, come along for an afternoon & bring a picnic or BBQ, we will be close to the kids play area. If you need any more info feel free to pm me. Bill. PS This is the day after the AFL Grand Final.
  14. A break away from my fishing trip last weekend, just ordered my nieces Letter from Santa early this year and saves myself a fiver. She’s getting to the age where she’s starting to wonder if Father Christmas exists and so what better way to convince her than a genuine letter the man himself. These things look proper authentic, last year she was so excited when the envelope arrived from the North Pole. You can grab your Letter and customise all online at http://www.SantaLetter2011.com. They normally jump back up to full price £10 in Nov/Dec so its about half price and means they will be arriving first week of December or there abouts. ..Back to the trip caught my best ever catch on first cast this week came in at just over 4lbs. Good start to the week.

Skyline bar at Crown, it isn't the most fantastic but it's quiet so good for gassing, and plenty of other bars in the place to move onto. Will be the day after my b'day so a good excuse to have a few cheeky sherbets 7.30 pm onwards, look forward to seeing you there Jade

  24. In short, I have my final consultation regarding a small operation I need on the 6th October. It is highly unlikely the NHS will organise this operation within 1 week of that consultation, which leaves me in a difficult position, as my flight to Australia is booked for the 16th October. I cannot fly any later as the visa (WHV) runs out on the 21st October, I will be 32 on the 22nd! Does anyone know, if there's any sort of possibility of me getting this operation in Australia, via the NHS? I can divulge details of the operation, if it matters.
