    Hi we are breaking our lease and our rental 4/2 will be available from 6th May. $416 per week pets considered (we have a german shepheard), 2 min walk to Comet Bay PS and 10min walk to Comet bay College. PM me if you need any further info.

    Hi my hubby Derek & I just moved out 3wks ago, living in 2 different holiday villas for 1st few wks. We had dilemma with areas but have just got the 1st rental we applied for. We gave copies of bank statements, pictures of our old house in uk which we sold & offered to pay in advance, owner was happy to accept normal mthly payments for rent but think it may have helped. We have 2 boys 15 & 12 & schools were own main issue. We like the north better now but had put in for rental while south. We liked Atwell (Cockburn shopping centre really close) but hard to get rental there as we also have a dog, so gave up on that area. Best thing is to get feel for each area & go with your gut instinct, we drove around & went for coffees etc & visited shopping centres etc to get to know areas, also helped reading other peoples experiences. :biggrin:

    Can anyone advise on how/where to insure car due to arrive via shippers. We need to register it etc as soon as clears customs but all insurance co's want Oz reg no which we dont have until registered.:cool:

    We fly out on the 18th to Perth, furniture and car left us 11 days ago and it's still sitting at Grangemouth waiting on a UK customs inspection!!. But can't wait to get some warm sun.

    Ours has been delayed in the UK for over a week now, shipper has told us it was a random search (mainly due to our car being with our furniture) but it means we have missed 2 shipping dates.I was expecting a delay in Australia but not one leaving the UK, has anyone else ever experienced a similar situation?

    Booked another holiday villa in Butler for 2 weeks, we have one booked in Waikiki for 23 days but don't think this will give us enough time to find a long term rental (more money). Just going out to change some pounds in to AUD.

    Took my car to the shippers today and got the dog measured for her shipping box, feels like its getting closer.

    Wondering where to start, we have the shippers coming on Tuesday and we have not even started sorting out clothes we will need to keep for the next 5 weeks and will what we keep be suitable for a Perth spring. Got car to power wash, get new tyres fitted, clean inside and outside, power wash garden equipemt (and pray they get in), disenfect shoes (god my OH has loads) and so on.

    Booked the dogs final blood test for the 20th August and confirmed her flight with Quantas and paid :-(

    In the last week I've confirmed shipping dates, requested quarantine date from Byford, put my notice in at work and booked ONE WAY flights for the 18th September. Oz here I come, just need to get long term rental organised, schools and a job!!!

    Has anyone managed to get the additional baggage allowance for one way tavel when migrating through Quantas, we've booked our flights with them but I cant see anything about getting the extra allowance.

    <p><p>Hi Tracy, got through to the third interview and I thought it was a certainty I was going to be offered the role but heard nothing and that was weeks ago, bit depressing. I am reconsidering the whole thing to be honest, I've applied for loads of jobs with no response, can't get the house sold and I am wary about quitting a decent job with no prospects of getting a similar role in Australia. I am going to give it a month and if the house sale and job prospects are still looking the same then I think we will just knuckle down with life here.</p></p>

    Had my third stage interview at 8am UK time and still not sure if A. i want the job (not exactly what I was aiming for but a good role and B. if they want me. Just need to site back and wait
