Guest dreamoz
Once again, Thanks everyone for helping me. My visa journey has never been a smooth ride. I had two applications decided as invalid and lost my chance to apply onshore. So, to summarise I applied several PR applications and was assessed THREE times by various COs this year. Lucky me to have the last CO who was really kind enough to me so that I could get the magical grant letter. What I was trying to say is, never ever ever give up on your dream mate!! If I can do it, so do you! Happy New Year everyone!!

hmsmark
Brilliant news. What a great New Years present. How long do you think it will take DIAC to allocate CO's for the remaining June applicants? (2 weeks)! I'm hoping that it is somewhere around 2 weeks so that they can move onto July applicants like me!
Mummy Mann
I am a June applicant, I am hopeful too that all June applicants will get their case officers in the next couple of weeks. I am sending off for pcc's this week and I am also going to be booking our Medicals too :0/
Honeybun
Hi guys, Just wanted to check if the 175 visa has any validity?? Does it stay valid till you apply for citizenship??
Guest mno
Hi guys, Just wanted to check if the 175 visa has any validity?? Does it stay valid till you apply for citizenship?? As far as I know 175 is valid as long as you live in Australia, even if you apply for citizenship or not. 175 PR will get cancelled if you stay outside Australia more than a certain time period (not sure whether it is 12 months or 24 months). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Went for the medicals on 31st December, but the status on medicals are not yet updated. Hope it will get changed soon.
twister292
If you stay within Australia it is valid indefinitely. For travel purposes the visa is valid for 5 years from issue. If you stay outside of australia for more than 24 months in a 5-year period, you may have the right of re-entry cancelled on you.

There's a few people on the old thread -part 1 that this happened too especially if you don't have any obvious medical issues that is. My husband is diabetic so his got referred or tht but then he was cleared in a few days. Have a look back at part 1 as I think they just refer some to keep the quotas up!

ciscoranger
Hi All, I noticed that some guys have already done their medicals and police clearance even before they were assigned Case Officers ? Is that normal and can i decide to go and do that pending the time my case officer is assigned ?

Is that normal and can i decide to go and do that pending the time my case officer is assigned ? Yes you can do them before if you want too but your visa entry date will be 12 months from the earliest date of either your medical or police check. Also they are only valid for 12 months. Or you can just wait for the CO to contact you and then get them. Depends on how quickly you plan on visiting Oz to activate the visa I suppose, everybody is different!! Good luck

It is the only thing that the impatient ones can do while waiting biting the nails.. We also did the meds and awaiting the PCC. CO is not still allocated. When CO gets allocated, he has got everything so he can just grant the visa. Aren't we making things easy for him??
