Can any one help ... I have been racking my brains as to why family sponsor has been moved to cat 4 and yet state sponsor is cat 3. I understand the reasoning behind it , that diac wants to put people into specific states to fill the need for required trades/skills, but over the last few months I have been reading some post and it seems if you decide to change state once visa has been granted there is nothing that the diac can do ! Surley anyone considering applying for a 176 visa will opt for state sponsor over family and then go wherever they like . Is this the case ? :confused:

Good news- 176 VE -SOL but not SMP Now in Cat4- DIAC corrected its table

Hi DIAC has edited its processing time table and has included other visas categories which were forgotten in the last announcement. For instance the 176VE applicants who were included in SOL and off from SMP list were not listed in the first announcement and many believed that those applications will be considered in Cat5 and now are included in Cat4 which is a good news for them. Hi all This from a DIAC report, dated June 10th: I think they mean January 2012 for allocating PG3 outside Australia applications. Assuming PG1-3 inflows continue, PG4 allocations look like being a long way way. Very unfortunate for those in PG4, and patience has its rewards for PG3. I suggest PG4 and some PG3s in a hurry look at other options such as 457.

Hi all! As everybody today I was very exited about the latest news from Victoria about their Eligibility List for SMP. :biggrin: I very appreciate all the help PIO members give to each other. Would you please help me with one question I have in regards to the announcement of this Eligibility List? Does anyone know if it's possible of switching from Category 4 to Category 2 for a person who has: 1. Pending application at DIAC 2. Sitting in Category 4. 3. No sponsorship. I heard that from July 1, 2010 DIAC eradicated possibility fo switching from an existing 175 application to a 176 one. But I also remember (but not sure) that this was applied only to new post-June applicants and those poor souls being in Category 4 have a possibility to get a sponsorship under SMP and move to Category 2 priority after SMPs are released. I would be grateful for any information on this issue, especially the links to the DIAC website (though, I haven't found anything about 175 -> 176 transition for existing applicants there). Hi, I am really frustrated to know that "Cat4 will be processed after cat 1,2&3 are finalised". Is it really possible to finalise all applications of cat1,2 &3 in a certain time? As we know everyday new applications are adding. It is only possible if they declare to stop taking new applications until existing cases complete. They are totally deceiving with us. During lodgment on June 2009 we knew that our application will be finalised within one year. The next episode you all know very well. We can do nothing against them except praying to God. im one of the ICT recent grad victim, my degree actually can nominate other occupation, but i have selected 2231-79, now being effected. but i'd like to know can i ask DIAC to refund my currently application for the reason that i want to nominate other skill, because my degree can be nominated for engineering technology, and i have already done the skill assessment, will they allow me to to a transition?
