perth office which is faster than nsw

his / my case officer has told him 3 week backlog on his nomination to be finalised

and poss 5-7 months wait

this visa is pathetic - 5-7 months for cat 1 (rsms) 121

all i can say is the 175,176 and the other perm visa must be taking absoluteley ages

Can't believe it... My agent got an email asking for the only outstanding piece of information for my application. "Once provided, I should make plans to leave Australia for a subclass 121 to be granted" :swoon:

The boss is off until Monday as well!

I assume from this that the nomination was approved - I'll ask his PA if she received anything...

It's not there yet, but feel it's close. Bender is on hold until I have the .PDF doco in my hand!

Wow thats great news! Another person im soon to be jealous of! Good luck hope you hear something soon, keep us posted (im sure you will)

So you have a CO? Thats great news once you put in that info im sure it only takes them like two days as they say once its with a case officer they will notify you within two days if they need more info or with an outcome if all docs are provided, so surely another two days once your info is with them.

You applied two weeks before me so I hope that might mean mine will be within a month! I hope so as flight prices get expensive soon! then they will go on christmas holidays! :arghh:

It is good news, but it's not there yet. Sorting out the final missing piece of paperwork next week hopefully.

I won't actually believe it until I've left the country (121), got the stamp and come back in.

Give Immi a ring on Monday (use your permission request ID) and see if yours has been shifted.

Like I said, this came out of the blue. No notification of case officer, no notification of nomination approval (boss is away, might be in his inbox)

Hopefully, I'll be looking at a cheapo holiday in a couple of weeks near an Aussie embassy!

Yeah im thinking of just going to NZ they are the cheapest flights or vanuatu flights are cheap too but not sure price of hotels there! Yeah my O/H boss the future employer got an email saying the nomination was approved.

I rang on Friday I asked if it had been moved and all he said was you dont have a case officer yet. That they are telling people 6-8 months.

I hope you hear soon as I feel your pain! Especially having applied for 121 while in Oz like me, makes it harder.

It's funny as I did call Immi on Wednesday 08/09 and they said it had been moved to Perth and "it looks like it's with a case officer or it could be with the team leader" which was a bit vague. They didn't mention the nomination. They also said 2 months for nomination approval and 6 months for the application. I was settling myself down for a long wait until the email came through on Friday.

Surprised they couldn't say if it had been moved - she was able to tell me without asking.

I am considering NZ but want to go somewhere outside of the Anglosphere - somewhere a bit exotic. And warmer! Vanautu sounds nice - my housemate went there earlier in the year.

things r looking good for u so mate fingers crossed for u! 22wks tomo 154 days so i should b hearing somethin very so does anyone know wat happens if meds go over d 12mth mark? cheers

I can't believe people have been waiting almost five months! I am going to cry if i have to wait the full five months. In fact i am almost bought to tears just waiting 10 weeks. I know it quite clearly states 3-5 months but i had so convinced myself this was worst case scenario and now it seems quite clear that this is the norm. I just want to buy a house!!!:arghh:

I had to have a rant... a little out of the blue perhaps but i know the majority on here will understand! Thanks guys and girls.

Hiya, I've been watching for a while ( a very long while!)

Lodged nomination mid December - payment immediately taken, receipt dated 31 December 2009 (because surely they were in the office working on NYE!!)

Nomination approved 1 April 2010 (Marketing Specialist). Not notified until 6 April. Visa application lodged 10 June (annoying window, long story).

We are still in Parramatta. The staff are expertly trained in gobbledygook prior to appointment in the call centre...

"Hello, blah blah, just wondering when we are likely to get a case officer?"

"We cannot let you know the exact timeframe until you are assigned a case officer."

"Yes, when is that likely to be?"

"We will let you know when you are assigned a case officer."

"Yes, in approximately how long?"

"Good day now."

"Wait! How long?!"

"Good day NOW."

"Good day to YOU."

"I SAID good day NOW!"

"GOOD DAY TO YOU!"

Hi All!

My Visa was handed into Melb office 7 weeks ago, nomination already approved, meds and everything done back in Feb! So it looks like I'm settling down for a long wait before visa approval. My question is my nomination was granted back in April and is valid for 6 months, and medicals all done in Feb valid for a year. Now October sees that 6 month validation on the nomation out and Feb next year (if visa still not approved )sees the meds out of date. Wihat happens to my visa application if the nomation isn't valid anymore or the medicals???

Hey Craig,

Just a quick one - would you mind if you edited out the name and position number of the case officer?

There's a rule on here not to reveal the personal details of DIAC staff!

Cheers,

Mike

Hello Hybrid. Hope you are keeping well. Just received email from my immi agent saying that he received an email from DIAC Parra saying they are processing 1st March 2010 applications from today - so according to my maths (which is not that great!), they are processing 6 days applications over a 9 day period. :)

Hi karinmccabe - spoke to DAIC yesterday and they also confirmed the processing applications for the week 1 March. A bit unfair when you see some of our fellow applicants (Hybrid, etc) who submitted theirs prior to that date - just wish there was a tad bit of a standard (orderly) process - cheers from another south african

there's no point calling immigration until your case has been assigned a case officer.

I called a moment ago and spoke with "J" they said 9 months for the full process, i called staright back and spoke with "T" and they said 5-7 months.

Ulitmately they don't have a clue, and it's a waiting game.

Fingers crossed for everyone!

waiting "game"? .... LOL I would use other words :realmad:

Anyway think about this. You go grocery shopping at at the deli section you get a ticket saying: "you are number 456, there are 218 people in front of you". I mean, if they are able to do it at a supermarket, why can't DIAC be able to cope with such a "complicated" issue?
