Proview Excellent news - keep us posted. Do you think you will go down the visitor visa option and stay with family? It must be nice to know you have family over there to rely on. We know no-one so it will be all new and strange to us - we must be mental! I still have the passion to go but I must admit I am finding myself wondering if we are doing the right thing (as I know many people do) as life here is not bad. It was all about our son and his future and I know that is what we have to focus on. I am definitely not prepared to be a 'what if' person. Jason Me too mate, Only thing is im not sure what to do once sold, my head is in bits with it all, i could rent here in the uk until i get the visa, but for how long, or i could get a 6 mth visa and go to oz but then i cannot work so im spending all my money with day to day expense etc. or we could buy a cheaper house here in the uk :arghh: proview Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest bindog1uk Posted March 24, 2010 Share Posted March 24, 2010 Hi Proview, I am sure that we all feel the same as you and have doughts as to whether we are doing the right thing in moving to Oz, leaving family behind is hard enough, also I will feel it a wrench to leave my home, have just finished refurbishing it to our standard and I love it, it feels like home with all the security that goes with it, but it's just a property. I think it's very easy to get set in your ways and take life for granted, but that can be very boring, to me living is for fresh challenges, I think of moving to Australia this way, a new way of life with things that we have not done before, I look forward to this and as said before if it goes t**s up we can come back again. I was the same when i sold my house in Feb, i didn't know if i should pull out of the sale knowing we may have to wait upto 3yr's for our visa, it also costs to much to sell & buy somewhere else for such a short time.. To much thinking in the end :arghh: so i sold it & moved bk to parents for now. I've brought another place now tho, i got it for a good price as it needs doing up, i'm also tring to get planning to build a bungalow next to it. If all goes to plan this should set me up nicely for the final move to Oz (if we ever get a visa :biglaugh:) I think if you get the chance to sell then do so as it can take a long time to sell when the time comes (if it ever does). At least if you rent you can just move out...... But thats just my thoughts...... ALL THIS MAKES YOUR HEAD HURT...!!!! When i did my TRA in Feb/March lots of people there said to change to SS as loads of trades coming off the CSL but my agent said not to worry, 2months later when they put my 175 application in they said Mmmmm we need to change to a SS as your trade has been taken off the CSL :mad: Then i took to long changing to 176 & only just made it before Qld took loads of trades off in July. Had i had done this sooner i could have been so much closer :cry: Oh well lets hope we see DIAC hand out some more CO's next week & of cousre more Visa's. Good luck Jason :cool: We have thought about our options over and over again, we will be happy to rent for 12mth and see what position we are in then, so by the time we are out of our property we in now, about another 6/8 week as the sale is going ahead, that would take us to May 2011, If no sign of visa then not sure what to do.
