DavidL
HI everyone, Thanks for the wealth of information here, really great. I am looking for some guidance please... I have lodged an 190 EOI for Victoria. I have claimed 80+5 (85) points, along with Superior English. My Anzsco code is 263111 (Computer and Network Engineer). The date of effect on my EOI is 12/09/2019. Would anyone have any insight as to how long I should expect to wait for first contact?

Depends if you've sent everything (including Meds and Police) if you have you may never get a first contact - maybe just a direct grant. Otherwise it seems to be about 3-5 months for a CO to be assigned at the moment
DavidL
Thanks Ausvisitor, appreciate your response and time to reply. I forgot to mention, as my Anzsco code is for an ICT stream, I have not applied on the "Live in Melbourne" website (https://liveinmelbourne.vic.gov.au/), there is a note there to say the ICT, nursing, engineering and building occupations need to apply directly on SkillSelect and not on their Website. As there has been no confirmation/acknowledgement on the SkillSelect website besides "submitted" its quite frustrating! As I'm sure it is for quite a number of people. Ah - I misread your post I thought you'd got the 190 nomination already from the state and where lodging the actual visa application. For the 190 EOI there isn't a timeline for response you sit in the "queue" until the state wants to pull your application out of it. Now if you have a career code they have lots of perceived desire for and superior english it can be 24-48 hours before they offer you the ability to apply for nomination. In other cases where they either have lots of applicants or less demand it can be months (or even never) before they process your EOI Sorry probably not what you wanted to hear. Once you get an invite to apply for nomination the process is pretty quick, we heard back within the month that they would sponsor and then we got on with lodging the actual visa application
DavidL
Thanks again for the reply @Ausvisitor, that clears everything up (although, as you state, not exactly what I want to hear). WI'll remain positive!
