  1. Thanks! Not from the UK though!
  2. Not sure if you can redo you medicals on your own without a valid HAP ID. I think it's the CO who will generate a new HAP ID that will enable you to do your medicals again.
  3. Just a quick update. I got my 190 granted last week. Waited for almost 2 years. Pheww! Done and dusted finally!
  4. Heya! I know what you have been going through. Its a frustrating wait but there is nothing more you can do. I lodged my 190 in Mar 2020 (offshore) and received my grant on 4/1/2022. I have seen a few more grants for offshore people so guess since the borders are opened now, the COs have started to look into the pending files. Maybe yours is around the corner as well. Wish you luck buddy!
  5. Oh great! Wish you all the luck!! English test will take up your points by 10 that will make it to 95.
  6. Oh okay! Do you have any option to increase points like english test, NAATI CCL, etc? If not then yeah will have to wait which is frustrating!!
  7. Hello @TheBs My points got updated from 85 to 90 because I completed 5 years of experience in home country in the meantime and the skillselect updated my points automatically to 90. Are you offshore or onshore atm?
  8. Just a quick update, I got my first CO contact (190 visa) on 15th of this month. The CO asked me to redo medicals as they expired. All my details are in my signature. Finally after almost 20 months, there has been some movement. Even another friend of mine who lodged in Nov 2019 has got a CO contact last week for his 190 visa. We both are Registered Nurses and offshore.
  9. Just include all your R&R as a NICU nurse. Include all the instruments/machinery you are competent to use. Also, add on your good communication skills, IPR with colleagues/juniors, team work skills.
  10. I'm a nurse and at the time of submitting my first EOI with 85 points, I waited for around 7 months before my points got updated to 90 and then within 10 days of updated points, I got my invitation for 190 from VIC
  11. Hey, Thanks for your reply. I have contacted them many a times and tried getting their attention to my critical code and how much my skills are needed and how I'm stuck in my career bcz of all this but seems the customer care people at DHA receives plenty of similar calls every day so they will be like "hmm..okay..we understand..its terrible..will put a note for the CO.." and then nothing happens. Not sure if your friend was too lucky or they actually pay heed to her requests.
  12. Hey guys! Count me in!! I'm a Critical Care RN from India; lodged 190-VIC in Mar 2020 but not a single update since then. I want to cry so I might do that along with you guys! Do I need to send any DM to you @Southlander ? Thanks!
  13. If you already have AHPRA registration, try for employer sponsorship jobs. Many hospitals/age care are willing to give sponsorship to nurses having experience from the UK/US/Ireland. Because for 189, it will be a long shot requiring more points and patience as well.
  14. Thanks @Marisawright for your response. I have contacted many agencies but no luck. There are very few agencies who do get sponsored jobs for overseas nurses if they have professional experiences from the US, UK, Ireland etc. So, I think it's just waiting game for me just like others.
  15. Hello from the other side of the World! Its been like 15 months for me without any update on my 190 visa application. It quite frustrating and nerve wracking to think about this every day. I started my immigration journey to Aus in 2017 when I wrote IELTS for the very first time (Process of registration for overseas nurses is too long specially if you are not from any of the first world countries) so If I count from there then its going to be almost 4 years now. I have been to Aus for a span of 6 months in between (to do my bridging course for AHPRA reg) and I loved it there. The people, places, scenic views (weather-not too much tho) and I can't wait to be back. All my friends back here have got well settled with their jobs and families and some moved to the UK/Ireland and are happy working/living there whereas I'm still not sure of my future prospects (and it adds to more anxiety). I have a valid AHPRA license as a RN which I keep renewing every year thinking that next year I will do it while being onshore but then the dream shatters again. lol Although I have a job here that keeps me busy at times but then at the end of the day, everything comes back to the same question as to when I will get my visa! I applied for many jobs via seek/indeed but woke up to a rejection mail again and again (since they need PR/Citizens only) so now I have stopped bothering. I know people who have been waiting for around 18-20 months now without a single update but that's no help again since I feel more anxious as I might be waiting for that long too. I do yoga and learning to meditate so that's helpful at times. I still ponder whether I took the right decision 4 years back. I have heard people saying that it will all be worth when you are finally on the Aussie land and I do agree with that. But nobody tells us how to go through the times of endless waiting and frustrations. Well, I believe this will remain the same for the next few months so will have to get through this period by hook or crook. Sorry for the really long post (or rant) but When I came across this thread, I could not stop myself from posting. Also, I know people here will understand this since we are all in the same boat; hopefully will see the shore soon! Thanks for reading!
  16. Well, before you approach the Hospitals, it would be a good idea to look at the registration procedure with NMBA-AHPRA. Just like how you are registered with NMC in UK, you need to be fully registered with NMBA as a RN before any Aussie hospital can offer you a job/sponsorship. Try looking at the link shared by @Jon the Hat above for NMBA Registration.
  17. 190-VIC; RN (offshore); lodged application in Mar 2020-not a single update since then.
  18. Well, nobody can predict the future and that too with the global pandemic. If your wife is offshore, chances are very slim to receive an invitation for either 189/90 as both DHA/States aren't entertaining offshore applicants for now. When this situation will change is anyone's guess!
  19. The EOI sits in the queue until it gets picked by DHA/State for an Invitation. Or else it will remain in the system until it gets expired after 2 years. You can submit a new EOI as and when its gets expired or about to expire.
  20. Hey! You mentioned in your first post that you continued to pay for your AHPRA registration since the last 10 years so that means you do hold a valid RN licence from AHPRA at the moment. Correct me if im wrong here? In that case, even though you haven't practiced in Aus as a RN but if you do hold a valid RN license from AHPRA, there wont be any issues. Now, that you have decided to come back to Aus, then please start looking at the 189/190 PR pathway VISAS and see which one suits you the best. Due to covid pandemic, the timelines have skyrocketed so be ready to wait (for almost everything starting from invitation to visa grant). Also, for your query regarding difference between "skill assessment and modified skill assessment". First of all there are 3 types of skill assessment done by ANMAC: Modified, Modified Plus and lastly, Full skills assessment. As you said, you have AHPRA reg then you will qualify for a Modified skills assessment. Please go through the ANMAC website if you have more doubts on this. @paulhand has shared the ANMAC link in a previous reply.
  21. @Lou Gates needs a positive skill assessment (From ANMAC) so as to be eligible to apply for a skilled visa (like 189/190-PR pathway).
  22. You wont get much response from here as mentioned by @DukeNinja. Try putting this on FB groups if you want to cover Indian Nurses who are in the process of migrating to Aus.
  23. Hello, Glad to see a fellow RN. Have you calculated your scores for 189/190? And yes, you need AHPRA Full registration as a RN in order to qualify for a positive skills assessment. Without it, you will not get a positive LOD and will not be eligible to submit EOI for 189/190. Wish you all the best!
  24. Yes, it is very difficult. So just waiting and watch for the grant to come on its own. Do you know if there is anything else we can do in order to expedite our Visa Grants?
  25. Hey, we both are already registered with AHPRA as a RN since 2 years now so I don't think that will work. For overseas nurses from India or the Philippines, AHPRA registration process is completely different, we do not have to present in person rather its a different story altogether. So that will not work. We applied for jobs but being stuck overseas at the moment, nobody is willing to look at our CVs as the first thing they will ask is our residency/visa status. Does your friend already has a job offer from an Aus employer?
