Hi Guys, Good luck for grants!!

I have one query regarding Tuberculosis (TB), hopefully someone help me on this form.

I have applied 887 visa, waiting for grant since 11 months and currently on bridging visa. Tuberculosis (TB) has been detected and I'm on treatment under medicare.

887 Global processing time is 7 to 10 months, however its been 11 months,  haven't heard anything from department yet.

My Question is :

- Can department refuse my 887 visa (permanent residency) on the ground of Tuberculosis.

- Or department is waiting for my treatment to be finished before grant me 887 visa (permanent residency).

I'm very much worried due to silence from department. If anyone has the knowledge or encountered the same condition, please advise on my case.

A little help would be appreciated !! Thank You...

Hi

Don't worry, this is normal process. After 7 months of start your TB pills, doctor will compare your x rays if all good he will send report to Govt and your visa application will get approval.

It is better if you explain when you started your treatment. If anybody don,t have medicare still TB treatment is free for everyone. So calculate 7 to 8 months after your treatment started, if you contact immigration office too frequent then they will ask more clarification from doctor as well as from you. I hope it will help you

Congrats on your wife's approval, so they are doing December applicants too! Looks like DIBP is now catching up with the applications, though some applicants from last year are still waiting for approvals.

If your council has a ceremony after August 22, I bet she will be invited for that ceremony soon. ?

I find the invites and approval for VIC a bit slow compared to other states. Don't worry, you will get your invite soon.

Application June 2017 online for NSW Parramatta
Test email June 2018 for Sydney CBD office

Test appointment July 2018 – Passed

Current Immi account status: received
Approval: waiting

Will department of home affairs organise and  process my national police check with relevant authorities or do I have to organise it myself from Australian Federal police and then submit to home affairs?

The officer has not asked me for any further additional documents during interview and test day. I have Been checking my emails and spam but nothing relevant. Please help.

You will need AFP check or police clearance from your country of origin if:-

Since the grant of your PR, if:

1. Total time spent overseas added up to 12 months or more or

2. Time spent in any one county is more than 90 days or

3. You were requested by immigration authorities.

Good Luck.

Thank you for the information. Just  that’s not what I am asking as this information is written on their website. Since I came to Australia. I have only left it once since granted pr and it’s less that a month.

Department has had not asked me for any police check.

My question is only about afp clearance. Who organises I do or home affairs organises this check?

As per my knowledge, in your case, u won’t need AFP unless department asks you so.

Cheers.

Hi all,

Just wanted to see if anyone is in the same situation. My one year PR eligibility for citizenship was supposed to be complete in July 2017. However in April 2017, the motion was passed to make PR requirement 4 years, thus making me ineligible. In July 2017 I still applied online and my application went through. In October I received the email stating that as the new law had not passed parliament, my application would be assessed against the existing criteria. However i have not received anything as yet. Not even a test invite. The status from Day 1 has been "Received" in the online Immi account. Just wondering if there is anyone else is the same situation or if anyone has any advice? Thanks!

Hi @Boomerang8678, have you tried checking your junk mail inbox? Some of my friends test invite was found in their junk mail. As your application is more than 12 months since lodgement, I suggest you call the DIBP and for a status.

Current timeline is showing 14 months up to 17 months but I believe that is for the whole process - lodgement to ceremony; and since yours is still received after a year, you better ring them up for update.
