  1. Im more happy im available for Socceroos selection now
  2. Had my citizenship ceremony last night. End of a long road and a very proud moment. Told my Mrs no more visa, police checks, citizenship, statements, forms to fill in now to which she replied you have to fill in forms and apply for your passport now haha. good luck to all still waiting, it comes eventually. Took me 17 months in total from application
  3. You would hope that immigration would see your change of address and have the intelligence to see that a change of council ceremony location now applies to you but I wouldn't count on it. I would advise you to call them and confirm.
  4. No worries, they have your date of entry on file from when you first came through immigration so the date that you state on the application as date of first entry would need to tally up with what they have on system.
  5. Why do you need to "prove it" ? You only need to state the date
  6. If you tally up all the waiting times on this forum the average waiting time is 5-6 months
  7. You will just need to be patient unfortunately. The average waiting time seems to be around 5 to 6 months for a ceremony invitation.
  8. Cant speak for everyone but my interview lasted 30 mins and it was very informal. Handed over my documents (which are listed in your test date letter) and all they asked me about was the minor traffic offence I had to quote on my application. If you have gotten this far you should have nothing to concern yourself with. I completed the test in 10 mins.
  9. I received ceremony invite today for 19th November. Recap on timeline. Application submitted June 2017. Citizenship test approved 21st June 2018. Ceremony invite 5 months from Test approval. 17 months in total application to ceremony. good luck to all still waiting, I feel for you. Keep the faith.
  10. Anyone on here waiting for a ceremony invite for the northern beaches council area? The last one of the year is scheduled for the 19th November but I have been told on Monday they haven't sent the invites out for it yet. Wondering if anyone has received one. I am kind of hoping I will be on the list for the 19th as the next one isn't until Australia day which would be 7 months since my citizenship approval date and 19 months since submission.
  11. If you updated your new address with immigration then you should have no worries
  12. What a joke, have you been in touch with the Ombudsman?
  13. You had to wait almost a year from Test date to invite to ceremony date??? !
  14. The exact wording is and im quoting from my own approval letter "Generally, your citizenship ceremony will be scheduled within 6 months from the time your application is approved, although waiting times can vary" Vague. Basically it could be any length of time and you have no basis for complaining or receiving a definitive time-frame, its a privilege to gain citizenship and "if you dont like it then leave or withdraw your application".
  15. the published timescales mean nothing. If it was 12 months when you applied and you check after 12 months you will see they moved it to 15 months. Check at 15 months and its now 18 months and so on and so on...
  16. 12 a year, once a month although nothing listed after November 2018.
  17. I think you may live to regret that decision. Especially when the UK deep dark winter kicks in. I know its frustrating but at the very worst its a 2 years wait for the rest of your life.
  18. You could engage a migration agent to contact the department on your behalf. They will be able to get a more accurate answer for you.
  19. Congratulations Anne. Thats a decent turnaround time too. Will you apply for your passport immediately? @AnneOz
  20. Impossible to answer that question. I have no idea how many people from the north shore are applying for citizenship
  21. With regards to the processing times quoted on the immigration website. Should we be referring our applications against the processing times at the time of submittal (10 - 14 months for me back in June 2017) or to the current processing times (14-17 months). The reason I ask is that I called to query when my ceremony date would be and they said I was still under the current processing times. I am now post 14 months which is more than the processing times at the time when I first received confirmation of receiving my application.
