Sad news this morning - my nomination was refused 😟

I'm awaiting a meeting with my MA to find out the reason why - once I know I will share it on here.

My application was more complicated than most and I sort of had this in the back of my mind this could happen but hey life goes on. I wasn't actually as upset as I thought I would have been.

Still currently on my 457 so no need to make any urgent decisions at the moment however at first thought - I don't think I will appeal. I see it can take another 12-18 months for your appeal to be heard and to be honest I don't think I can put our life on hold for that amount of time again. My wife wants to start a family and I don't feel comfortable doing that whilst sitting on a bridging visa awaiting the possible outcome - no matter how strong my case may be.

So it looks like my journey in Australia has come to an end - I have so many great memories here and I wouldn't change them for the world. I believe in life, things that are meant to be are meant to be and I guess its just our destiny to be back home. Although they wont say it, both my Wife and my parents will be over the moon I bet - they really struggled with the thought of us having a family out here alone.

Good luck to everyone on here - the forum has helped me through the process and its an awesome community that you all should be proud of.

I probably will take a step back from the forum now and I doubt I will post much more - just need to start planning the move back to the UK. My company has offices back home so I'm currently looking into an internal transfer.

Farewell and God Bless 🍀

best wishes friend

I followed a previous link to add my signature but it would not save for me, so our info is below.

Occupation: Painting Supervisor

Stream: 186 visa TRT

State: QLD

Birth Country: Ireland 🇼đŸ‡Ș

Number of Applicants: 2

Nomination submitted: Nov 2017

Hi to everyone,

I am an Italian Hairdresser and I applied for PR almost 11 months. At the moment I didn’t receive any news from the immigration.  I was wondering if any hairdresser here is on my similar situation or even worse.

Its frustrating because many of my friends that applied after me, they received already the golden email after 5.5 months or 7 months but no more than 8 months. They apply as pastry chef, cafe manager, tiler and butcher.

Is someone in my similar situation?

thanks in advance

@boo-yaa so sad to read this news.

You've been an absolute essential asset to this community, and you're wise words have helped many.

Please consider how fast we're seeing nominations being processed now with the SAF (as bitter as I have been feeling towards to the newer applicants) - I too wouldn't consider an appeal, but with a re-nomination you could see a 4-5 months wait.

Wishing you all the best, please keep us updated on your refusal reasons.

Over and out, all the best in the future.

Hi all, a question to everyone that has had a inspection of immigration inside their business. Please share with me how this could work. I believe we do everything right, just want to be prepared.

-How do they come in and what do they ask for?

- What proof are they looking for on the spot?

I just want to make sure everything is ready in case they will come and also in case I am not there if anyone would come.

Great mindset and I 100% agree! At least you can move on now!:) this is what is meant to be for you and at least you can start a family with having yours around you, which is something most of us have to give up.  So enjoy!!!

Feel sorry for this aweful news !

Mate. I can feel what you have been through right now. What i can say is give it ‘GO’ for second time. Don’t give up dear. Who knows up there might be a good thing waiting for you. With my experience, i have seen many peoples got their good outcome at second time. You might win too.Think twice before you are heading towards your plan.

Wish you all the very best your future endeover.
