Discuss some data from official website (186)

Hi everybody,

I`m so boring today, so I just share some data that I found recently.

By the way, you may find this article is not very easy to read as my English is not very good.😄

Here`s the link:

https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/research-and-stats/files/report-migration-program-2017-18.pdf

Please turn to Page12.

According to these numbers, we can know that there is 34966 applications lodged in 2017-2018 financial year and 29307 places approved.

We also can know that there is 34398 places are in the pipeline as at 30/06/2017 and 29842 places as at 30/06/2018.

So we can figure out that the DIBP processed (34966+34398-29842=39522) applications in 2017-2018 financial year and the successful rate is about 29307/39522=74%.

Please note that the numbers above means applications (including primary applicant and dependents), if we want to know the amount of primary applications we could use the link below:

https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/foi/files/2018/fa180400717-document-released.pdf

It shows us the proportion roughly.

I think we all want to how many cases can be processed every month, if I`m thinking right, DIBP processed about 18000 primary applications in 2017-2018 financial year, 1500 cases per month in average.

I hope those data could answer some questions and help us get a little bit relieved.

At last, I share a link to everyone:

https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/access-and-accountability/freedom-of-information/disclosure-logs/2018

We can request many information from the Department, what you need to do is simply ask!

Good luck!

Thank you!

For people that are being approved, did you have to provide Form 80?

I was told that it was unlikely that I would be required to complete it, however, completing it would avoid any time delays with my case.
At the end of it, the case officer did actually look into it, and I was lucky I had already provided it, else it would have been another wait.

My suggestion on this, is to complete it.
- It shouldn't take more than 1 / 2 days to complete and the amount of time it COULD save you, would make up for it. For me, it was all about being proactive.

When i submitted my application my MA submitted Form 80 along with it. He said CO  may ask about it before he takes a decision. I think CO needs it to assess the character of the applicant.

Correct me if I am wrong, but this shows they have less applications submitted, yet process fewer per month now, and triple the wait times?

As far as I know / have heard; they are having massive staffing issues (churn). Which doesn't help anything.

Thanks, I've been in Australia over 5 1/2 years now so you'd think they have some good history on me already..hah.

Anyhow, in terms of the Form 80, should the dates of international travel be up to the point of visa submission, I plan on heading on an International flight soon and unsure whether I should wait until that is completed to fill in the Form 80 or submit the Form 80 with all my travel dates as of time of lodgement?  Lodged my application in June 2018.

Thanks in advance.

I would include all details up to date of submission. If you then travel and come back and they had still not reviewed it, then simply update the document and re-upload.

Hey everyone,

My partner and myself applied for 186 TRT when we were working in Sydney but the same company we are working for relocated us in Perth.

Should we update our current address on the visa application or not?

If we update it, we are wondering if the time processing might be faster as WA is a regional area?

Thanks
