Just because its democracy, it doesn't mean its the right decision. Anyway, if/when the UK goes down the swanny, at least I'll be watching from a safe distance. Good luck Scotland with getting independence

If you embrace democracy it is the right decision, I know you wish you could force people to do what you think is best for them, that's democracy Cuba style, stop throwing your toys out for goodness sake.

Just got up and saw the headlines. Surprised but pleased.

No doubt there will be lots of doom -mongering as well, but I think some severely underestimate the spirit of the British people. There are many visionaries, innovators and entrepeneurs who, without the shackles of EU dictates and bureaucracy, will flourish and thrive. Britain has the benefit of many highly skilled, highly trained and hard working individuals whose numbers can now be increased by others from anywhere in the world who have qualities that are needed, rather than just being added to by anyone who is free to come here simply because they are European. The prospects for business are very positive. The UK is surrounded by waters and blessed with swathes of arable land. It will be great to see this used solely for farming instead of being sold to developers and covered with concrete to provide housing for the uncontrollable, ever increasing population. Also, wont it be nice to eventually see supermarket shelves loaded with fresh, home grown, high quality produce instead of the pre-packaged, chemically and heat treated, tasteless specimens that we buy from Europe. There will be initial chaos as expected and some hard work ahead but if the people of Britain pull together, shoulder to shoulder and support their country then it is onwards and upwards. The world is watching.

When does the chaos end and utopia begin do you think. Are we talking weeks, months, years or decades?

England and Wales win, Scotland and Ireland can do whatever they feel is best. Great result though totally unexpected

This is great news. I couldn't be happier for Britain. Now for the re-building of a great nation.

That great nation built on the backs of colonies and reselling cheap Empire products, it's 2016 not 1860, we lost an Empire and never found a new role for ourselves, this is going to be a rerun of the 1960's.

Or even the 1970's.

The UK was a mid sized nation standing on the shoulders of others.

Now Wengland will be a little boy lost in a crowd getting kicked and trampled.

Personally it doesn't bother me. Being Australian means being part of a country with no influence whose opinion is largely ignored. I'm used to it, and there are advantages to being invisible, but it may come as a bit of a shock to many.

Did you vote Stacey ?

I wonder why Scotland vote so differently to England.

I was stupid and didnt sort my vote out. Not that it would have made any difference. All 33 areas of scotland voted to remain and it means sweet F all. Just more evidence that the union is dead

I wish I had had the guts to back my instincts and put my money on it. Shouldn't have listened to the so-called experts.

No you should have listened to me ..

Thank god for the working class people of the midlands and the north who decided the outcome .

Forget people like Boris and Cameron and bloody champagne socialist Jeremy corbyn .

It was LABOUR MP john Mann ,who understood the complaints of the working class people in the north .

Zero hour contracts being one of the issues.

Corbyn is supposed to represent these people ,and he was nowhere to be seen .

There was no celebration or back slapping .

The hard work begins .

We have left a failing organisation ,and are once again self employed .

We will be back ...britain always is ....

People on this forum wrote us off as recent as 2008 during the economic crisis .

We are now the 5th largest economy in the world ....we might take a dip ,but it will be temporary .
