If you don't do the Pommy Run, and stay for a while, you'll learn that you never whinge about rain in Australia.
Ellie 2
It's winter and so the rain can last for weeks. If we get a decent summer you could be begging for rain or at least a damn good southerly.
ghostgirl
Forecast is looking very good for next week. I'm just sad about the rain because my dog walking keeps getting cancelled
fleabo
You can quite often find it rains continuously for a few weeks here. When it rains, it really rains. But then quite often you can have weeks of fine weather e.g. April this year.

adamexmouth
The trees need a nice drink Highest rainfall in 10yrs. So i guess it's not that normal to have this much rain.
jimmyay1
Should have come to Melbourne. Despite rumours to the contrary the weather here is much drier and the summers sunnier than in Sydney! And we don't get humidity either!
Rupert
Yes it has rained for a couple of weeks. It can do this here, it can rain torrentially for days and days and days. I think I have seen more rain in the last three years than I have in the previous 40 put together. It rains in Australia. Rainfall is higher and it rains on a greater number of days. Get used to it. On the upside, I see a lot more blue skies too.
Melb3000
Spring is the dry time in Sydney. June is the wettest month and summer can be quite wet as well. Melbourne climate cannot be generalised. Last summer was very dry and hot but a couple of summers before was very wet and humid. This winter has been up and down. Very wet and cold for the first half of the month and dry, sunny and very mild in the second half. You need to live in a place for at least 5 years to get a true idea of the climate. Skani
According to the Weatherzone site, Sydney is on track for its wettest June (and probably wettest month) in 6 years: http://www.weatherzone.com.au/news/sydney-will-be-covered-by-cloud-and-showers-until-sunday/24871 You obviously should have arrived in May.

wakeboard1980
I heard Sydney is getting hammered. We were home for 4 weeks in April/may and the weather was awesome. Blue sky and sunshine just about the whole time.

ghostgirl
It was beautiful today, I went for a walk in the Royal Botanic gardens & on my way there saw a drunkard spewing in Hyde Park. Delicious. He had the manners to move away from his friend to do so, and as a result was inches away from me.
