Hi Benoli, I have followed your story on this thread. I am so sorry. I hope you will get there in the end. I believed the specialists reports from the paed and psych are favourable? I am surprised that they put more weigh on the panel doctor's report then the other two specialists. The fact that the panel doctor didn't say anything to you during the medical exam also is very weird. Anyway, are you going to appeal with the help of a lawyer or an experience agent? Good luck!

unfortunately the report written by the panel doctor was quite detrimental but he was also not qualified to make such a statement. We were also lied to as we were told my son had been graded an 'A' when he was actually given a 'B'. At no time did he discuss anything with us and certainly did not mention anything negative, As a doctor, he totally failed in his duty of care. We are using an experienced agent for now to deal with the visa side of things. We are dealing with the panel doctor ourselves for now, but if necessary will involve a lawyer if we have to although hopefully it won't go that far!

Argghhhh need to vent frustration and anger to the only people that know how it feels! Had our medicals back in April the panel doctor at the time should of requested my husband attend an assessment with regards to a medical condition he ha but she never did! Had an email in August from global health requesting my husband see a specialist and get a report done! We have had this done and sent back in quick time! I have rung global health to find out any details only to be told they are still only dealing with july referrals and if I need to get it seen any quicker contact my CO! I then ring my CO and she tells me once the reports are with the MOC she cannot get them fast tracked and it will prob be at least another 3 months before we get any answers due to the back log! Sorry for the whinge but need to vent! It's good to see some positive posts and well done on all those who have had there visas and medicals finalised!

hi there! Im nearly going out of my mind. We applied for the ENS Pr visa via DRC but since thats now taking for ever with all the back log we though we will put in a 457 fully expecting it to come in a few weeks. But now the medicals for that has been referred. Anyone on here with 457 application in, who has meds referred? how long did it take or are you still waiting? Just wanting to know if its the same queue as everyone else, as in that case with only July meds being looked at we are in for a long wait!.

When did MOC requested the specialist report? How come it takes 3 months for them to come back to you that your husband need a specialist report? Are you applying for PR or temporary? I was told I did not need medical by DIAC although I have a pre existing conditio. Then they changed their mind and after a week of my X-ray was done, I went again for my medical. Due to technical problem, my clinic was not able to send the form electronically and that caused another 10 days delay. I brought a specialist letter with me to the clinic and insisted the panel dr to submit it with the report because I know they will ask for it and I don't want further delay. My panel dr said there is no need but I insisted! Now I am still waiting...

I am only applying for 457 dependent and my husband is already granted a visa and working in Australia. I was delayed because I am pregnant and have to wait longer before I can have the x ray. This is so frustrating, I am alone, pregnant waiting for this visa so I can move on and prepare for the birth but I am in doubt now...

I am in the same boat. Thought 457 will be quicker but now I am not so sure but there are few 457 applicants got their visa quicker than other permenent visas. At least you are going together as a family. My husband is already in Australia and I am pregnant. :(

Hi Lizgats my meds were referred on the 2nd August, and I noticed the health requirements finalised on the 15th, looking down the document list though the x-ray & med forms are showing as required - I assume that I'm waiting on the case officer finishing things off and letting us know either way - although I know the meds are finalised I dont know if thats good or bad - all I know is that there is a decision made!!! Biting my nails to the quick!

I am applying for PR with a labour agreement I am joining the Australian Navy in January 2013 thats if the visas and medicals get sorted before then. Not sure why it took them so long to request the information but I front loaded my medicals and sent them paper and not via the e-health system. It is just a very frustrating system! I hope you get sorted real soon its not fair to be on your own and pregnant, fingers crossed for you and everyone else in the same situation. Keep us updated and look after yourself and baby. Sarah

a brief update from me.......yesterday we finally got hold of a copy of what the panel doctor had written in his report. Will not go into detail on here but needless to say we were shocked and horrified and now see exactly why my son failed the medical! to cut a long story short, I have made a complaint and spoken to the lead clinician who thankfully agrees with us. He will speak to the doctor to get his side of the story and come back to us. Will wait to see what he comes back with next week then will be making a formal complaint to GH who are the people who deal with complaints about panel doctors.......never a dull moment here!

Hi Benoli

That’s good news, hopefully there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for you and you get a positive result very soon. Good luck Clare x
