were heading out to perth for 1 week on 21st may, then onto dubai for a week, were trying to keep the costs down. tbh would rather save the money for our actual move!!!! my oh will be applying for jobs so if one comes up we will make the move asap if not i reckon our actual move will be in 2 years. wots ur plans? xx

Hi Kirsty My oh is an electrician and we are awaiting our visa grant anyday now. We have applied for a permanent residence visa and the whole process has took approx 15 months. Have a look at British expats electricians forum as there is some great info on it, as their is on here too. We have a migration agent from go Matilda who have been very good throughout the process and would defo recommend them. If your going it alone then there is plenty info out there to help you vetasses isn't the only route for ur hubby as mine undertook a skype interview instead of the practical exam. What I would say is my oh and myself spent at least 6 months on the net researching everything before starting the process, which btw is very expensive!!!! Hope this helps Elaine x

good morning peeps we have an update our meds status has now changed to "health requirements finalised" initially we were very excited!!! however we are now doubting the situation?? as we have read on here before that finalised doesn't always mean the visa is granted. At least there is some change to the process, and we will know soon either way:unsure::unsure: Have a nice weekend peeps Elaine x

They advised that they are working on (paper applications) date 16/7 at present, if this is true? U have a wee while yet to wait. From my conversation with gh yesterday I think we're all in for a longer wait than we all realised!!!!! Elaine x

Telephoned global health this morning and was advised they cannot give me any timescales re electronic applications!!!! but only advised we will be waiting a bit longer yet, as huge backlog? And they are working on apps from 16th July???????? Elaine :arghh:

Hi I couldnt agree with you more! The oh and myself are simply scunnered with all the waiting! This week has been the worst so far, as I do believe I literally have no patience left.... zilch zero none whatsoever! Our lives have been on hold for so long now, and I just want to know either way? And the thought of another week of checking diac, just makes me angry!!! Lets hope we hear soon for the sake of our sanity!!!! Elaine
