Thanks so much, it gives me more confidence.

I actually have absolutely everything in place because we submitted a 176 family s. visa app in June 2011. We were contacted by a CO in March of this year and started the process of the extras, I.E. Medicals, PC etc. Only to be told that my wife (who was the main applicant) did not qualify in terms of her work experience. So a very expensive error was made (we did not use an agent and the specifications for what exactly was specific work experience were not stated on the DIAC website). We had to withdraw the application in April and I then almost immediately went about getting my docs together for SS. I sent stuff off to Vetassess mid April and only on June 14 did I get the reply to say "successful". They never required any additional docs but I do know they were overloaded with the increase in apps.

I Know for WA SS it is only your skills confirmation letter, your IELTS, A CV and $200. I have everything ready in electronic format and Credit card has funds, so that as soon as the Vetassess letter arrives (please let the postal services be reliable). I can colour scan it and send it off.

Then I pray that WA takes only a day or a few days and then I carry on with my 176 on the DIAC online site.

I have actually started my visa app form on the online part of the DIAC site and will upload docs etc, so that if it is touch and go I can do it immediately.

Talk about holding your breath.

Also good to know that even if I dont get in ontime. It will not be a major delay. Only problem is my 1 years work experience in the last 24 months expires 1st of July as I left my Job under which WA needs skilled individuals on June 30 2011. So another hold your breath issue there.

I do believe that under skills select there is a visa were work iexpereince is not required, but only issue is that it is not a permanent res visa.

Hi,i'm in the same situation as you. Did you ask vetassess for an e-mail or fax copy of your positive outcome? i was on skype first thing this morning to confirm i could get mine e-mailed. Worth a try...

I applied for WA SS on 15th June and today I received the following email from them :

Dear XXXX,

The Skilled Migration application for XXXX is currently being assessed.

Regards

After this email, how much time will it take to get my result.

Also, I am now scared that WA is rejecting applications these days - Any idea on this ?

Hi our WA SS came through in 24 hours that was at the beginning of June, from what I understand they are approving as many as possible because they need people, good luck hope it comes through soon

Hi Karenpur, yes we did our medicals in the Mater, we paid E915 in total, 275 each for me and hubby, 155 for my 14 year old, she had to have an xray as well as the medical and 70euro's each for the younger children ages 10,6 and 4. There is not much to the medicals, the younger boys age 4 and 6 had a great time, the doctor was lovely, they were weighed, height measured, history taken, urine samples for kids who are 5 years and older, hearing and eyes check too, we were in and out in about 2 1/2 hours. Younger kids do not need xrays. The guy taking the bloods (just for me and hubby) said there were so many people leaving Ireland! The medicals are carried out in the visa centre so they really have their eyes open to the amount of people leaving Ireland, mighten do any harm for some of the td's to sit in othe waiting room to see the reality of what is happening.

The childrens medicals are uploaded straight away and I was able to log onto diac site to check that they had been submitted, the bloods and xrays take about a week. All in all it was hassle free..

Thanks a mill for the info. I'm hoping to lodge the visa on Friday , Im a bit nervous to be honest, but the way things are here, i just cant see it getting any better in the next 10 years, i know we will be starting from scratch again and we wont be going with very much money but i think if we work as hard there as we do here then maybe we might actually have something to show for it. My sister lives there and we were over last year for a few weeks , kids had a ball. It is very expensive but i think thats more because the exchange rate was bad but my sister says that we cant base prices on what they are in euros because they get paid more anyway.

It will be interesting to see how long the visa process will take.

We lodged 176 on June 14th. Wish you all success!

How long does Victoria guys take to send Form 1100 to DIAC after we send the TRN number? Thanks.

Question for the peops that got WA SS. Once they approve your state sponsorship do they email you the number that you have to place on your 176 app form? SO do you get it straight away?

Also is it safe to assume that what ever the first expiry date of your additional requirements (Medicals and PC) is the date by which you have to enter OZ by?

Dazmatazz, do you mean you have done your meds and police checks before even submitting you visa application? That's risky! Lol

I agree with this, but it was done for another visa application (my wife) which we had to withdraw at the end of March this year. I have since then scrambled to get my skills assessed in order to apply for a visa. They are valid for 12 months so I am hoping all goes well.

Evening everyone!

Hope you're all well.

I'm just in the process of filling in our 176 visa application in the hopes of submitting before 30th June. We have got to the page where it asks about you or any other applicant ever holding a visa. Basically my husband has previously visited Oz both on tourist and working holiday visa and myself as a tourist. However, due to passport renewals we have no idea of the exact date of issue or the visa reference number.

Has anyone else had this, how did you get past it as it doesn't let you carry on without the required info??!! Help! Please.

Thanks

Ali

Hi guys! After emailing Adelaide, theyve sent me a link to this page which tells you current processing times. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.htm We're category 3 as we have SS and an occupation on the WA SOL.

Ali, I think if you put a tourist visa you don't have to put visa reference numbers. Not sure about the dates though...

Dazzmatazz, yes once you get WA SS they email you the acceptance and a form which you have to send back on which you write your visa TRN.

Hi Folks

I too have lodged 176 today and emailed my WA SS agreement form.

I must admit I have mixed emotions after reading the thread about moving back to UK from Perth.

Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained:biggrin:

Hello all,

Have not checked in for a week and can't get over how many have joined the June gang this past week!!! Congrats to all.

We did our medicals today for the whole family, dr. office says it will take a week to get results back and then they overnite to Sydney. Also uploaded our local state pccs today. I emailed c/o on 8 of June to ask for a continuance for our FBI back ground checks since they take 8 weeks and will surpass the 28 day request time but have yet to hear back from him. Anyone else have experience with how long it takes for them to respond to an email?

Not good news for me this morning guys, checked diac and it says hubbys medical has been referred. I'm assuming that it's because he's had two back operations. He works full time and is never off work will his back problems. he just manages it through pain relief now and doesn't need another op.

Has anyone else been referred before? And if so what does it entail? I've been told that it could hold our visa up by 4/5 weeks and that's if it all goes okay. Also we might need to pay more for the referral.

I'm so fed up right now!!

Hi All,

Just checked the progress on our application this morning and it shows the kids medicals as finalised..mine and hubbies still showing received, we haven't had any contact from a case officer, any one know if this means our application is being processed or is this an automatic notification when meds are uploaded fully..

Thanks.

I'm so fed up right now!!

My Son had heart surgery when he was a baby. We got all the necessary documents and reports from his specialists and his medicals were referred. We had no feedback on this and after around 7 weeks the status was updated to "finalised" we had no feedback, did not have to submit anything else nor pay any extra. From what I understand they have a medical board that sits every so often to make decisions on these cases.

Good luck.

Hi all,

Our agency lodged our application on 13/6 but when i logon and look in document checklist, all of the required docs have 'message' beside them. When I click on message, it askes for these docs to be provided. Have the agency not uploaded them? What does your status say?

It also now says 13/06/2012 application received - processing commenced, does this mean we have a CO? I'm sure it didnt say

processing commenced before.

Many thanks

Jennifer
