  1. Hi, I had read on a forum that is was only valid for 12 months according to DIAC , but the letter states 24 months so must have read incorrect info .
  2. Thanks for the replies . I read somewhere on either the diac website or here that the ACS skills assessment was only valid for a year . I panicked a bit but after reading the actual skills assessment letter , it says valid for 24 months so I presume that means that DIAC will accept it until 21/03/2014. K
  3. Hi, Last year i did my IELTS and got my skills assessed from ACS (21/03/2012). So when it came to submit form before July I panicked cause i knew i would not be able to get the money together in time if the visa was processed quicker than expected. So now i find myself still looking at the site wondering if i should submit an EOI and just pay for the visa and see what money i can get together to get out of this place. Problem is, just realised the ACS is only valid for a year. So what do you think my chances would be applying for independent 189, getting an app and uploading the skills assessment by the expiration date of 21/03/2012. Should i do another skills assessment ? Thanks K

  5. Ok, im gonna check this out, i dont want to pay the guts of 2500 euros if i cant lodge the application. Thanks a mill
  6. I meant to say a copy of their passport !! im not sure if the visa is on the passport
  7. Hi, I have all my details ready to go and was going to apply for 176 family sponsor but all of a sudden my sponsor says they have no perminant residency document, just a coopy of their visa. Im not sure what this means but I was thinking i might just do the 175 visa instead. Anyone any ideas about the difference in processing times ? Thanks a mill. Really want to lodge this weekend.
  8. Thanks a mill for the info. I'm hoping to lodge the visa on Friday , Im a bit nervous to be honest, but the way things are here, i just cant see it getting any better in the next 10 years, i know we will be starting from scratch again and we wont be going with very much money but i think if we work as hard there as we do here then maybe we might actually have something to show for it. My sister lives there and we were over last year for a few weeks , kids had a ball. It is very expensive but i think thats more because the exchange rate was bad but my sister says that we cant base prices on what they are in euros because they get paid more anyway. It will be interesting to see how long the visa process will take.
  9. Hi, I assumed that he would have to be added. Other posters had said that if the dependent is not migrating then that section could be omitted, but I was under the impression from DIAC that he would have to be included, just not sure what docs are supposed to be given in this case considering there is no official docs that state he is the father. Thanks
  10. Hi, Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. My husband has a child that stays with us at the weekends. His mother has never put my husband on the childs birth cert for what ever reason. But now, we are going to lodge our visa, and are going to add him in as a non migrating dependent as he wont be coming with us. Do we have to add him or can we leave him out. Im not sure if we have time to change the birth cert. Thanks k
  11. Hi PBrady, I noticed yous are from Ireland and just wondering did you do the medicals in the matter ? Whats involved for the kids ? Just x-rays I read somewhere that the cost is about €800 for 2 adults and 2 kids. would you say thats about right ? Thanks K
  12. Hi, Family our four (34,33,10,6) from Dublin , hoping to complete the application on Friday. Going with family sponsor for WA Perth. There was no spaces left for my occupation on the WA list so i think my application will take longer. Look forward to seeing how everyone gets on . K
  13. Thanks a mill. Better get my docs ready over the weekend and apply.
  14. Hi, The agent that i originally rang said that the priority was SS176, Family Sponser 176 and then 175, so i guessed cause i had the points and i have family in Perth that i would go for it. Im afraid if i apply for 176 and all the new visas come into force, i will be years waiting . Think I am actually getting nervous now to lodge because all the discussions seem to be how expensive it is and all the rent problems !! I have documents ready to go so I think I will make a decision later ( with a glass of wine to help ) Thanks
  15. Hi, Maybe someone can help. We have come to a bit of a standstill with our visa. We originally were going to go for SS 176 to WA , but they closed the off list occupations for analyst programmer ages ago, so decided we would go for 176 family sponsor. I have skills assessment and IELTS compeleted. If i apply for the 176 family sponsor then im wondering will i be cast aside with the processing when the new visas come in July. Should i wait and hope my occupation is still on the list and they "invite me to apply" and hope that WA will provide sponsorship. ( is that all too much of a gamble ?) Any ideas ? Thanks
