  1. Posting for a friend, His sponsor (transitions stream) has said he has submitted the application in August of this year. The MA said it was likely that he may only get the grant in April of 2017. The sponsor said he does not want to wait that long and will advertise the position again locally even though the application has been submitted. My question is if the visa application is in, and the employers business is still operating as per normal, even though the job may not still be available (if the sponsor does find someone locally) can the application still be approved? Then 2nd question, under the RSMS 187, if you loose your job, do you still retain your visa and right to live and work in the country? Thanks in Advance.
  2. Hi All It is my understanding that under the skills select visa system for a 190 that actual work experience is not required, am I correct in assuming this? If you have a qualification from a Uni that is directly related to a category on the SOL and as long as you get the correct number of points for a EOI should this do? Some one I know has submitted their docs to VETASSESS to have the skills assessment completed but VETASSESS are asking for CV info and info related to the last 5 years of work. I understand that one can get points for years of work completed in the field post completion of qualification but has anyone had a positive skills assessment from VETASSESS directly after completing the qualification? Thanks i advance for any help
  3. I know someone who is in a spot of bother and its not a simple case. The sponsor has been issued with a 175 visa that has been activated but the couple are still in the UK and have not made the actual move to Aus. In the mean time the couple have applied for a de facto visa (309/100) and have been waiting for this to be issued before together making the actual move. A CO has been assigned and they are in the final parts of (what looks like) the 309 to be granted, I.E. medicals and police clearance requested and completed. However lets just say after 5 years there is now trouble in paradise, both do still want to move to Aus but it looks like the relationship may terminate. The sponsored individual has a qualification and is likely to be able to achieve the required points that could likely result in a 190 visa being issued. Questions, 1) if the couple move to Aus but somewhat independently after getting the 309 visa is this already a major problem that could cause issues? realistically would anyone look into this? 2) if a EOI is lodged and an invite granted would the new CO not start to look into the 309 visa and could this cause problems? The person wants to get to Aus as soon as they can but it would be silly to ruin possible chances of getting the 190 so all advice would be helpful.
  4. Well first couple days in. Bank accounts sorted, first job interview went well and off to the beach tomorrow. My son had a tummy bug so not cool cleaning that up but otherwise we are feeling a lot more settled in now. Good luck to those of you who are jetting off soon.
  5. Congrats to those of you that have recently got their visa's or even just those of you that have made progress. We are a little over 3 weeks from our move and it is so stressful trying to tie up all the loose ends and pack up stuff. Any way for those of you that are still waiting I hope it is not much longer.
  6. Hi All This forum went from Super overtime posting 2 months ago to a fizzle over the last few weeks. How many of you are still waiting for your meds etc? Also to those of you that have made the move already, with the cold (and crappy) weather starting in the UK I am sure you are so happy to have done so. Good luck to all that are still waiting.
  7. Any OZ Location. Congrats on the Visa.
  8. Correct, you still can get the stamp if you want but its not needed, especially with that maroon passport  all electronic.
  9. Our Tickets are now booked. We leave South Africa for Perth on the 3rd of Feb next year. It one way tickets for us as a validation trip is not in our price range. Plus our local currency is taking a hammering. Its now round 9 to 1 and not in our favour. Well done to all the grants and hope the trend keeps happening. Also may those meds change for those of you still waiting.
  10. Lots of movement today. So good to read. My future sister in law got her 175 visa grant this morning as well. So all good, my brother just has to get his de facto visa in April next year once they have done their 12 months and then most of my family will be in OZ.
  11. Hi Nishi I know exactly how you feel, it happened to us as well. We got back on the program and have our visa now. Basically my OH was refused for lack of work experience and then I applied on my skill. Expensive thing but we got in in the end. The good news for you is that EOI does not require experience rather it only helps for points. You have done IELTS and you have your skills assessment so you can do your EOI right now. Sorry to hear that.
  12. Hi Sarah  You are very fortunate that your medicals are "finalized" this has been the most common hold up for most of the visa applicants over the last couple months. The turn around time is usually around 6 weeks extra for meds, longer for some. For most of the 176 visa apps that have not had meds referred the time from application to grant has been around 6-8 weeks. For 175's it has been around 8-12 weeks. You are a little over that norm now, but since you have now uploaded everything and your meds are finalized it should be any day now. Good luck, Looking froward to you getting your golden email
  13. Done but did not enjoy doing it. Hope your wait is not too long.
  14. Had a feeling that would be the case. Excellent news. So happy for you.
  15. I would follow the lead of several of the people here. Now that they are finalized email your CO. You may just find a grant email the next day. I remember reading of this happening to at least 4 people.
