Thanks Waitingawhile! Lodged ours on 29th May and received email from them last night to say they received it on the 30th. Wasn't sure if they are sticking sticking to the 10 day processing time, so your post is putting our minds at ease at least :wubclub:

Hey Crowded House, finally got a CO on the 29th. Have you booked your flights yet? Container and bags packed?

I had a MASSIVE row with my boss yesterday and the only thing that kept me sane since then is imagining handing my notice in once we get the visa. Meds booked for tomorrow (Maidenhead), so the end is (hopefully) in sight

Hi Jars, just looking back in the thread to find someone with medicals booked near same time as me.

Are yours showing up yet? We had ours on 2nd June, we`ve lost 3 working days through 2 uk bank holidays and 1 australian since, so now only on working day 5 since....nail biting. Just have `requested` on document checklist.

Hi GarethLW, all my documents still show required (don't think my CO is ever going to change that ) but on the first page after you sign in it states all our medicals were finalized on the 7th June. I only noticed it by chance as I usually go straight to the document list. Where did you have yours done? Not sure if different centres process it at different speeds..?

Ah interesting, didnt realise it varied. So all my docs were listed as met except for meds & x-rays. But... just checked again and they all show as finalised on that first page except one of my sons. Looks like my CO is in the process of reviewing and updating as now when I check document list only myself (out of 5) show as `met`.

Hi managed to speak to hospital this morning, and she was adamant that mine was correct, it was £260 not £240,( had daughters aswell so was all put together in bill). She said that as permanent visa only need hiv not hep b&c, even though will be working in healthcare, but other visas such as 457 have to have extra. But I've just checked other posts and they are also on 176. so still confused she definately said all done that was needed, so don't know really. Might speak to other hospital tomorrow, just don't want it to delay process. Shelly:confused:

Hooray! PCC back today, email confirmation said they received them on the 25/5 - they do not include the day they receive them or the day they send them in the 10 days so I make it 9 days. Raced home to scan them only to find my migration agent had gone home early so they wont get uploaded 'til tomorrow now! I don't have the password to upload myself - though better of trying to guess it being an IT Security Specialist (but I could be persuaded!)

Great news! So close now (even though you are facing an extra day). Fingers crossed things move super quick now

Arrggh.... Lodged my visa 176 on 31/5/2012... Still no sign of any movement in my application up till today!! 

How do you think i feel! i lodged 08/05 and heard nothing, just said processing commenced until i emailed them on the 07/06 then i noticed it stated application being processed further, which i think translates into 'write something on his screen to keep the whining pom quiet'!!. i really can not get my head around how some applicants get a co within a week and others are waiting for 5-6 weeks now, my agent said just be patient, that's easy for him to say sitting in Perth putting another one on the barbie, while i look out of the sodding rainy window!!.

Must be really frustrating for you Dean. I phoned mine in the end and they couldn't tell me anything on the phone but then like magic, a few days later I had movement. maybe give them a call and ask if there is any further info they need ?

Thanks, i think i will give them a ring as the hints i have dropped on my agent to get in touch have fallen on deaf ears. Am i correct in thinking that the co will e-mail my agent? if this is the case how can i tell by logging onto my DIAC E-Business page if a case officer has been allocated? as i have little faith in my agent.

it will have a one liner saying 'email' sent so as soon as you see that get in touch with your agent...i felt like that about my agent sometimes but he did email as soon as CO had been appointed.

Hi Dean74

I haven't been on this site for a while because, like you, I'm getting really frustrated at being left behind. My application is straightforward - I am only applicant on the visa so less to check, I come from a low risk country (ie the UK) which according to the immigration website means my application should be dealt with quicker, I have lived in same country all my life and the jobs for which I am claiming points are all NHS so easy to check. I thought I was being ignored because others had occupations in higher demand but they are really short in mine so can't be that either.

The weird thing is, like you, all my documents still say required and I have a message dated 1st June stating application being processed further - no sign of a case officer and no sign of any email to myself. I phoned the GSM processing office (waited 24 minutes for them to answer!!! Marginally cheaper than getting a flight over to their bloody offices!!!) and was informed I have had a case officer since the 18th May - they could not tell me why I had not been contacted by this person or why my case was taking so long, just said it was end of financial year and therefore very busy, eh!!! I asked if not having my visa by 1st July would result in me being shunted onto the new system and he said no along as I had a case officer I would be taken as part of the old system. He also said something about the allocation time of 4 weeks that is quoted on the immigration site should be taken as 4 weeks from been allocated a case officer (therefore in theory I should hear from somebody this week). I am going to upload a letter to the area where you upload all your documents asking my case officer if they could contact me as I have no other way of contacting them.

Don't know if any of this helps you but thought I'd share it anyway (form of therapy for me, well that and stomping around house while cursing bloody stupid system that makes no sense and leaves you with sod all information).

Hey Jain,

I exactly know how you and Dean feel. My application was pretty straight as well and it is still being processed after medicals, PCC and employment verification. I received two-liner email (below) from case officer yesterday.

"The application is still being processed. Nothing further is required from you at this stage".

And I have no idea what they are processing. We asked them clearly if our file was in internal or external checks but answer was negative. It is all so frustrating.

Hello. I lodged my visa 176 last april 16. I got an e-mail from my agent yesterday stating that i did not meet the passmark score of 65, I;m 5 points short. Is there a way to claim that 5 points?

Age: 15

English: 10

O/S work: 15

A/A work: -

Quals: 15

STNI: 05

Total: 60

My agent is insisting to withdraw the application. I'm hoping that there are other ways to get the 5 points.

If your occupation is on WA demand list, try to get their State Sponsorship since it is the quickest now, 6 days to process.

You could have gained 10 more points by achieving all 8s in the IELTS for 20 points but this has to be done before the application is lodged. You could also have gained another 5 by applying for state sponsorship for a regional area but again this needs to be done before the application is lodged.

I think your agent should have checked your points score thoroughly before letting the application be lodged. It is very unfortunate but you may need to withdraw at this stage and try again once you have secured more points

I believe you have to have 65 at the time of lodgment and therefore can't add points after that. I am surprised your agent didn't pick this up...when you resubmit you could always sit your IELTS and get 8s in all bands to give you 20 points. Is STNI state sponsorship? Can you claim partner points by getting another skills assessment thus gaining another 5 points?

Hope you get sorted...

Dean and Jain, I am really feeling for you guys. I thought I had it bad when I was waiting for CO! It makes absolutely no sense why you two are having to wait this long and others get theirs within a matter of days. Dean did you manage to speak to DIAC today?

Guest sharmagaurav

dear dean and jain,↲a↲I completly agree with Jars and would suggest you to contact Diac as on their website its showing all 176 visa applications allocated to CO. Also if you guys have done application via agent then it might be a delay from agent's side. Either or I think contact Diac and get some answers.
