  1. True That! I sometimes get Friday blues, thinking the week is over and still the grant hasn't arrived. Imagine Friday Blues . Hope it comes soon! Ha ha I hate Fridays too because I know its Saturday there and they are closed. I Look forward to Sundays because it's Monday for them. 108 days now and I feel the longer we wait the easier it is getting, as long as I keep seeing people getting a grant I know they are working.
  2. Visa Grant's appear to be moving again! A November 12th application got a DG on Feb 27th.
  3. Nope. You can apply from you home country. I live in Canada and I applied from here. Once approved in principle you will have to show up and present in person. That's when you need the address in Australia but most of us in the past used the hotel or Airbnb address to satisfy Ahpra.
  4. Not sure of your exact situation, but I got AHPRA registration before a visa or job offer. A lot of people do, to ensure that their qualifications will be accepted, and they can get full registration before embarking on the more costly and time consuming process of getting an EOI picked up and applying for / paying for a visa. I would read through the requirements to get AHPRA registration, or if it is too complex a case, seek advice or pay for consultations with a registered migration agent. There are quite a few who regularly post on these forums.
  5. My 190 visa application was lodged November 16 2018. The status remains "received". Great idea to have a November thread. Here's hoping they start processing more 190's next month.
  6. Just take your time and read everything, I didnt find the state sponsorship application too bad at all.
  7. Congratulations!! I guess it was worth putting that VIC EOI in the system.
  8. Yours is 190 or 489? 190 Visa for us......It might be a very long wait! How about you and what job code are you again?
  9. 101 days or so here of waiting, no news is good news! Yes I have dependents on the application (4 of us on the application and another 2 adult children not migrating).
  10. Sending the application to AHPRA wasn't too bad, but the list of details they sent me 8 weeks later requesting info was a nightmare (asking for certified copies of course outlines, proof of medication course, certified copies of my Testamur etc), I had a time limit to get it all back to them. After everything they requested they asked me to give permission to extend the assessment time limit. This I did and within a week or so I got the in principle registration. I flew over to present in person and that took and hour or so as I had to get a declaration signed as my COGS was just over the expiry date at that time.
  11. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! Hooray! I bet you are booking your flights to Adelaide already. I am so happy for you! @Westy123
  12. I was going to do the online course through South Australia for immunization. Yes things have sure changed with immigration and I think more changes should be expected. Nice chatting with you
  13. Managers seem quite interested in me from the conversations I've had. I just need the visa, feels like such a long process. I've done a bit of community myself, but more on the school side of things. I was thinking of taking my immunization certification before coming over, so I could at least do flu clinic as a casual.
  14. I am in a specialty area, womens health. I have peri-operative skills (scrub and scout), pre operative and post operative skills, surgical nursing skills, newborn nursing skills, post partum, breastfeeding, triage and charge nurse experience among many other skills.
  15. When we moved to Canada from the Uk. My parents and I had the mentality of we would take any job so we could pay the Bill's. Moving back was never an option for us. We all obtained employment, but it was not even close to the jobs we had all done in the Uk. My Dad went back 25 years to being back on the tools as a machinist. He was a quality control inspector in he UK. It took him a couple of years to get back to what he used to do in the UK. Times were bad back then with high unemployment but we made it work. When I move to Australia, I will come with the same mentality as it surved me well in the past. I am in what I consider to be a very cushy job at the moment, but I plan on going back to having to prove myself and bust my ass to make a name for myself in a new country. I tend to search jobs online and then try to find out the email and phone number of the person actually hiring. I like to personally chat over the phone or in person with Australian managers as it works out better for me.
  16. If you can get 70 points by getting the extra 2 weeks work, a189 or a 190 visa should come fairly quickly.
  17. I would have a chat to an agent and see what your best course of action would be.
  18. I hear Victoria likes people who are loyal to them and have not applied to other states. Maybe a new EOI would be a good idea.
  19. On one site Iscah predicts that 65 points non pro rata will not get an invite before Feb 2020 for the 189 visa. I was in a similar position, but I have 7 years experience. I figured my best bet was a 190 visa, so that's what I applied for. My only way to increase my points at that point was with work experience and I didn't want to wait unit I had 8 years. http://www.iscah.com/will-get-189-invite-february-estimates-iscah/
  20. From personal experience you will have a long wait for an invite with NSW at 65 points. NSW invites people with the highest points first. I changed my mind and applied to South Australia and was successful (65+5 points). They assess each application in the order it is received.
  21. @AimzWhat Anzsco code and points did you have?
  22. congratulations, fantastic news! @Aimz
  23. We did look into an agent but the off putting part was there are none in the part of Canada we live in. So having to deal with someone online and in a different time zone/country was a bit off putting. We were quoted £4000.00. If we get into a tricky spot, we will consult for sure.
  24. Keep us posted on what you find out about the entry date. Very interesting that it's June.
  25. The 190's are on the go slow. There focus is on clearing the 189 and reducing citizenship wait time. I think us 190 visa applicants will be here for a while.
