  1. It does state to apply before but you can do it after (others have) but they do not start processing the application until they have all documents, therefore this will simply slow the process down.
  2. Yes this meets the requirements of Passport of Visa as I listed then. The original poster said they want to go by June 2016, I assumed they would not be going over before then.
  3. You can apply for the modified assessment when you are on the AHPRA register, to get on the register you need to meet all their identity requirements and the main form of identity is proof of address in australia or a passport with a visa. So if you are not in Aus you will not be put on the register, you get a letter asking to present yourself in person with the stated identification once you are in Au. You have 90 days to do this and have to request from your case officer to have this extended to 12 months. I wanted to go down this route as my partner can not do IELTS (Dyslexic and scrapped a 6) so a modified would have removed the IELTS requrirement. Instead we are having to use me as the main visa application and there is a backlog of accountants!
  4. All international applications need to doa police check BEFORE they apply to AHPRA, this has to be done through Fit2Work.
  5. Sam you can not do a mdoified assessment unless you are on the nursing register, to do this you need a visa or you need to have previously been registered with AHPRA. Send them both at the same time.
  6. Ali this is incorrect. W hen you register with AHPRA you wil lnot be put on the nursing register unless you have a visa. As you need to apply to ANMAC for the skills assessment which is part of the visa you will need to do the full assessment. It took me 8 weeks to get AHPRA from posting to letter of provisional registration, everything was submitted correctly first time and i had no contact from AHPRA.
  7. I attached my partners passort which has no visa and they accepted this fine. As Charlotte has said, you have to go to an AHPRA office to finalise the registration once you get your visa. For reference they initially give you 90 days for this and you need to ask them for an extension to 12 mnoths, it states this on the latter they send but just pointing it out incase you miss it when you get to this stage!
  8. To add to this you are in a similar situation to me David (albeit I am an accountant), my parnter is a nurse so she is my backup plan but hopefully I will get an invite in the next 6 weeks. If your wife intends to work over in Australia she will need to register with AHPRA before starting work (regardless of visa), however the majority of the paperwork for ANMAC who do the nurse skills assessment is the same as AHPRA. Once you have her skills assessment it will either give you an extra 5 points, or you can apply with her as the main applicant as CaptainC has suggested. I imagine once the first November details are released in the next couple weeks you may get slightly more of an idea as to when to expect an invite, but I am just assuming it will show something useful here!
  9. Scroll to the bottom of this link: https://www.border.gov.au/WorkinginAustralia/Pages/SkillSelect-23-October-2015-Round-Results.aspx The last 2613 acceptance was 65 points on 22nd October, once the backlog of 65 pointers clears (I assume this is soon) then the last 60 pointer I can see was Marhc 23rd, therefore there is all the people between 23rd of March and your EOI date who will get an invite before you. Edit: CaptinC beat me too it! I shouldn't be posting at work and I'd be quicker
  10. I would guess as long as you can prove the work experience for the points that you claim you are ok, and I am guessing you are claiming 5 points so you can easily do this? If you are claiming points for all 8 years maybe send an email to the old HR department to be safe? I think you can go to HMRC and get 6 years of data.
  11. I am not at this stage yet but I have got 1 payslip for all employees ready, I do not think this is required but I have read that people have been asked for this, in some instances up to 10 years back.
  12. I got my partner to write a couple of sentences for each placement (she had 6), also the hours need to be provided by university, it is ok to put them here but also ensure university provide this. Yes the statement of service needs to be provided for all nursing related jobs, if this is just one job then that is fine. I would say you should not be getting any shop/bar etc. jobs here as this is not relevant.
  13. It is not linked to unions, if you are a member of the RCN in the UK then they do not provide you any indemnity insurance unless you are self employed, the RCN scheme states "work performed under a contract of employment will be excluded", therefore if you are a contracted NHS employee the RCN will not help, however the NHS themselves should provide you with this.
  14. Basically you need a type of insurance called indemnity insurance, without this you are NOT allowed to work as a registered nurse. Similarly in the UK you need this, however in the UK the NHS or Unions usually provide it. This question is asking if you plan to get this insurance, it is a pointless question as if you tick no you are not allowed to work and therefore your application will be rejected. By ticking yes you are agreeing that once you arrive it is your responsibility to make sure you have this insurance, either through a 3rd party, a union or an employer.
  15. Just so you know RCN will not cover you in Australia, they changed their indemnity insurance policy recently. I had assumed they did (they use to) but if you go and read the latest documents it is not covered.
  16. The invite was the 6th at midnight in Australia, so they actually came through at 1pm Thursday 5th November, likewise the next invite round will come through on Thursday 19th November at 1pm in the UK. As to when Go Matilda will inform you I am not sure as I am going solo.
  17. We can luckily use either of our professions, there is a backlog and pro-rata restrictions on accountants but I'd rather wait this out than mess around with more nursing paperwork and ANMAC! I proof read her distertation, wrote her CV's and personal statements for every job she has had, and now sorted out nursing registration in Aus...maybe I should switch professions I must know all the theory and legalities
  18. I included all placements as a student here, as this fits the details they are asking for. I would say it is better to include this than leave it out, as it is asked for.
  19. This is Fit2Work, they are the ones preforming the check with the UK police, in the polices eyes they will never see or hear from AHPRA. Is this the two lines which start "on behalf of"? If so then it is your full name. Just put the UK as this is the only country you want a police check from. If this relates to the international consent form, there is space for a single address per country so I just listed my current address. if you are refering to the UK consent form, then it clearly states 5 years. BTW when I refer to myself in these nursing questions I am actually refering to my partner, I did all the paperwork though! Just incase you were wondering as my box below my posts says accountant which is me.
  20. I was not expecting one today, had forecast myself for the 20th at the earliest. EOI 70 points 13/09 as an accountant.
  21. Not for me However there has been roughly 10 days of acocuntants invited in the last couple of rounds, so that would put the accountant cut off roughly 5th September and I am 13th.
  22. Invites go out from midnight Austrlian time, that is 1pm UK time today...as in 20 minutes ago. I beleive that if you have not got an invite in the next few hours then you will not get one this round.
  23. AHPRA has nothing to do with migration so personally I would not expect a migration agent to be 100% up to speed in this area. Yes in theory you can't work without AHPRA registration, but you can get a visa without it which is what the migration agent is doing for you. If however they have stated that they can support your AHPRA registration in the services they are providing you, then feel free to kick up a fuss with the agent! I did the Fit2Work before anything else, it is simple and can be done online, it does not take too long to come through.
  24. No invite for me, EOI submitted with 70 points on 13/09/15 Lew from the other thread got an invite today, their details are EOI 26/08/2015 70 points.
  25. I didn't get an invite, so there is still a backlog of 70 pointers!
