  1. I would also do AHPRA registration at the same time as it will save you money, most of the documents are the same so if you do them separately you will end up paying the notary twice and the NMC twice. Also make sure the lawyer who is certifying documents meets their requirements, AHPRA are picky so you want to ensure they are a notary which will be more expensive but is required.
  2. I am CIMA qualified, we have a mutual recognition with CPA and I simply filled a form in and I am not a CPA accountant as well, I am now sure if ACCA have a similar agreement but I would contact CPA and ask, as from what I can tell although this will not guarantee me a job, it makes it a touch easier.
  3. The more you provide now the better as it is easier to send too much than not enough and then get sent to the bottom of the pile while they process others before you. So send the certified copies of passport etc. I did not tick anything in the application form but included them. Fit2Work was fairly quick for me.
  4. They need quite a lot in relation to the above not just a transcript, however they do not make it easy as they just send you a copy and paste and are not specific about what it is exactly you are missing. Do they have a full syllabus? Mine was 90 pages. Do they have a list of clinical hours? e.g. placement at abc hospital on xyz ward for 60 hours. Do they have a letter explaining that Pharmacology and other areas listed were covered (not just a module title), the syllabus may cover this, but I asked for a separate letter explaining it and they referenced the NMC requirement for all nurses to have this.
  5. When I did mine it stated up to 5 days, this changed during my wait to up to 10 days and finally changed to 10-15 days which is when I received mine back, so they do update this timeframe. They also have a UK office as well as when I did my membership (CIMA mutual recognition) they rang me from the UK, so the UK office might be able to help.
  6. Hoping I am not throwing a spanner in the works but nursing needs a degree, if you are diploma qualified you will have to do top ups so hopefully you are degree qualified. There are quite a few diploma nurses around and you can fall over at the first hurdle because of this!
  7. If you are getting CPA to do your skills assessment they will also assess you on your work experience for free at the same time, their feedback is minimal though and obviously what they say is just guidance as DIBP have final say on work. A migration agent would know for sure.
  8. I provided a payslip from each job, P60s, contracts where I had them still and a statement from my manager at each company, this listed job title, pay, bullet point job description and I also included official job descriptions from the adverts to the job (HR gave me this for current job).
  9. Invites for accountants are now going to 65 points, so 70 will get you an invite in the next round.
  10. I've tried to guess what they would do since the start of this financial year, anything logical and they don't seem to do it! The ceiling was reach early last year.
  11. As I have mentioned in my other post, there are only 900 odd places for accountants left, in Feb 600 were invited so a couple of months might not be quick enough for this financial year.
  12. If you can I would sit the PTE-A to get the points, this has a quick turn around as you can usually book it a few days out and results are next day, unlike IELTS where results take 2 weeks. Your Skills Assessment will take 2 weeks usually (time does vary). You can not submit your EOI until you have both of the above, you are required to put their reference numbers in to the EOI. 70 points would get you an invite in the next round assuming the cap is not reached, however in the last round 350 accountants were invited so if this continues then the first round of April will fill accountants for this financial year. As to removing from the SOL list, there has been talk of this for over 2 year snow, so I am not sure what will happen.
  13. Send to any, they are now processed centrally.
  14. I do not have experience with your work field but can add my experience: On the work experience front I did the work of a qualified accountant as a year out from my degree, however this was not allowed to be counted for points as I had not graduated. Therefore if you want to claim work experience points they need to be post graduation. With regards to the migration agents comments I assume he is referring to the skills assessment. As part of the process you have to get your skills/education assessed and in most cases this needs post graduation work experience of a few years, this is separate from points and has to be done. There are only a few occupations where you do not need work experience, others on here will be able to be more specific than me.
  15. The total number of invites which should have been issued by now is the number which has been issued, in that if you average out the total invites (200/month) this matches the 210 it should have been per month. So I am not sure this means they we in demand, but February being a high month does look better for people in the 65 point queue. However I think the key numbers will now be the March round, if it stays high then that means more 65 pointers get a chance, but if it drops as per pro-rata then it means more chance for new applicants with high points. All this is purely my opinion though, not sure anyone other than DIBP can know what will happen as it is all so random!
  16. The problem with waiting is that the number of invites has been random, there was only 45 invites a month up to the end of 2015, then there has been both 125 and 250 per round so far in 2016. If the number of invites drops again then you will not get an invite...and there is no way to know if this will drop as DIBP seems to be acting randomly.
  17. You say finance department, are you seeing someone specifically who deals with pensions? I worked as an accountant in the NHS for 2 years and gave generic advise to nurses who asked regarding pensions, but I was no expert and this was not my job and I always said so. In my current company (not NHS) we have a whole team who deal with pensions who have nothing to do with normal day to day company finance and thus I would not specifically refer to them as finance! So make sure you are seeing someone who specifically deals with pensions and not just someone who works within generic finance. When I left the NHS I received my pension back (over 2 years service but I didn't pay in for 2 years)...however it was a very good scheme and looking back I should not have done this, even if it was a small amount I lost their contributions and wasted the money on a car which subsequently lost value when I sold that.
  18. The cap for External Auditors was reached at the start of the financial year so you will not get a 189 invite here. As for general accounting there is zero chance to get a 189 invite with only 60 points as the backlog is a year long almost and 65 points will not guarantee an invite either. I am not sure how 190 visa's work but if you did not get high marks in the English test I think you will be low in the priority list here also.
  19. Going off other people the 65 point backlog for accountants is still in September, with an EOI in January I think you may get an invite in a few months, however it is not guaranteed, therefore if you can increase your points I would. Personally if I was you I would book on PTE-A ASAP, you can book just a few days before and get the results the next day, no waiting like IELTS. The results from the last round are not out, but these should provide a little more guidance.
  20. I am not too close to 190 visa's as I did a 189. I know that these are not linked to the limits etc. so I imagine finding someone to compare invite dates with will be harder.
  21. I am afraid until the official stats are released dates are not that useful, you also need to know the total number invited as we are nearing the cap. Knowing people on 22/09 got an invite is less important, as if this was from 125 invites then this is really good news, but if it was from 250 invites then it is potentially bad news.

    Deflation?

Yes I agree sort of, now I have the visa and professional registrations (nursing one is a pain) things feel different. We've both just handed our notices in this week, although both our managers already knew we were heading to Aus, trying to plan the next few months and then what we are doing when we get there and it is not the same feeling as when applying for the visa. The final thing for me to do is sell the house, we've accepted an offer a month ago but still not heard from the buyers solicitors even though they want to complete before tax changes on 1st April. I guess now it is more of a reality I just sort of want it to be over with than having to wait until June! The visa was a hurdle to overcome and a challenge with clear completion, now everything is a bit uncertain!
  23. You have the visa now so keeping them up to date on your job situation is not needed, your visa was not granted due to your future employment. As to address I have just sold my house and have no intention to inform DIBP, I am not expecting anything in the post from them.
  24. Have you pointed them in the direction of the notary website? This lists all UK notary's so should be proof they are eligible to certify your documents.
  25. Are you referring to ANMAC or AHPRA? With AHPRA no news is good news, as to a couple of days I would say this is not correct from my experience, the person you speak with is simply collating all the documents and then sends it off to be assessed once they have everything, so it is more like a few of weeks from when they have everything.
