Hi all, My status has recently changed to assessment in progress, after the department have received my medical results. I was previously asked to provide police checks and now immigration have everything. Can anyone tell me how long this should take to get a positive result? I'm a uk nurse and have applied for 189 visa. thanks

Hi, I have lodged an application for a 189 visa and will be having my medical I'm the next fortnight. As far as I'm aware, all documentation that is required as been attached to my application. All I can see being outstanding is my medical. can anyone offer any Insight into how long it should take before my visa is confirmed? I ask as I have until September 26th before my partner has to return to Australia as his British visa has expired. I'd like to go at the same time. Any info will be appreciated.

Hi, I already have police checks and have provided the details for them in my application. The only thing left outstanding is my medical. I called the place in Edinburgh which I believe is the only place in Scotland that does it. The girl told me I had not yet been put on their system by immigration and needed a hap I'd. Where is this my health declaration part??? Thanks for your help much appreciated as I have an Australian partner who is about to get thrown out of Scotland as his visa is up end of September. I need to get mine ASAP x

Hi, I'm looking for advice from anyone who has gone through the process of applying for a 189 visa recently. My skills assessment with Anmac has been completed, my aphra is currently being processed and I have just paid the fee to skill select and lodged an application for a 189 visa. Does anyone one know how long this process should take? I tried to book in for medicals but have been told I can't and must wait until immigration contracts the health centre requesting them. I have been offered a job in Melbourne and would like a rough idea of when to aim for leaving the uk and my current job. Many thanks, jenni

Hi, I enjoy the stress as well. Don't know how I'll cope if I find it too easy I'm just curious as to if I will still be doing the same procedures etc as I am here, in an acute medical ward. I wouldn't like to become deskilled which is what I keep being told.

Thanks for replying. In what way is there less responsibility? So far all I know is the nurse to patient ratio is better than in the U.K.

Hi, I'm looking for advice from anyone who has worked as a registered nurse in the NHS and in a private hospital in Australia. I've had a lot of people telling me I'll become de-skilled. Any ideas why that is? I've been offered a job in Melbourne and would just like to hear some of the pros and cons between an nhs ward and working in a relatively small private hospital. Tia

My id documents, work certificates etc. The website says I can upload all attachments before being invited to apply (to speed things up)?but can't find anywhere to do it.

I'm in Ayrshire in an acute medical ward, mostly respiratory and infectious diseases. We do tend to get everything in the ward though. Can you send me in the right direction of where to go looking for work? I need to get organised as my partner who is Aussie is desperate to get back home now. Two years in Scotland has been enough for him I see Ramsay health coming up a lot but not sure where to look. Thanks.
