  2. Someone on twitter saw it too! 'Coaching on the Brisbane River & just saw a meteor flying over Teneriffe. So awesome! brisbaneanyday meteorshower'
  3. Good on you chicken. And good luck for next week, let us know when it is and i'll be sending positive vibes your way all the way from London. I know you won't feel like it for a while, but when you do, please let us know how you're doing. xxx
  4. Another vote for SIA - they're brilliant. You'll have a great flight with them.
  5. Now remember all the rainy days, when your kids didn't go outside and did sit in on their ipads or watching TV as I'm sure there were plenty of those. And the 48 sundays out of 52 when you didn't go to a pub for sunday lunch, as although we all go on about our amazing pubs for sunday lunch - how many of us in the UK actually go there that often? My point is - take the rose tinted specs off, and take a REAL look. There are plenty of nice pubs in Oz to go out to for lunch, and plenty of streets where the kids play out, especially in cul de sacs and gated complexes. Find the real reason you feel like you do. If you're in the wrong area, move. If you don't know your neighbour, go and say hi! However if you really don't want to be in oz, be honest with yourself as to why.
  6. He must be terrified of losing you and so sad at what you have to go through and wishing there was something he could do to take the pain away. My mum had a single mastectomy, but this was in the 80's - things are so much better now. I know it's not his body, it's yours and you have to decide. But don't let the bastard C get you for the sake of vanity, I know it'll be horrific and as a woman an awful thing to go through, but reconstructive surgery is amazing these days. Do what you have to do to LIVE. Much easier said than done I know, but that's the endgame right? Do what you have to to survive. Sounds like you have an amazing partner who will love you no matter what. So fight for both your sakes. I'm sure it's a whole lot to take in, but listen to the doctors, all you can do is take their word for what's best to get you through.
  7. Thoughts are with you, hope they've caught it nice and early and that you start treatment soon. Fight the good fight! We're always here if you need support xx
  8. And guys, stop discussing your plans with your soon to be exes! Don't give them the power to control your lives once the relationship ends. (as long as kids aren't involved!)
  9. I'm not there yet Fish but hoping to end up in Coomera by my friends who live there. Have been there enough to know it's not a huge issue. In reality as much as I like to think I would, I'm not sure I'd end up at the beach every day anyway. But it's close enough to go before work if you wanna surf, and to pop in after in summer.
  10. From Upper Coomera (about 10 mins from Sanctuary cove) the gold coast beaches are about a 20 min drive. Closest is probably the spit, maybe 20-25 mins to surfers paradise max. Really not a big issue. And the other beaches (Kirra, Burleigh, Tallebudgera, Coolangatta) are so accessible from the Pacific Highway that it's by no means a mission in the car. I find the most of the time to get to surfers is taken up with finding somewhere to park.
  11. That actually makes me happy. Good to know there are times when i'll be able to wear my Uggs
  12. you'll be lucky to get barely any interest with the rates at 0.5%.
  13. I'd contact a Mara registered agent if I were you, and be very sure of what you're walking into before you go. Don't get caught in a strange country in an horrific relationship situation with no money, and no escape. Sounds like a lot of emotional blackmail going on.
  14. Have shared the page on my facebook. if everyone who reads this does the same we should start spreading the word x.
  15. Hi Guys - just a heads up, we have stories all over the news about delays within the passport office at the moment, and i'm sure foreign applications are realistically not high up on the list. So expect some delays. http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/jun/11/passport-processing-delays-q-and-a
  16. I use a company here in the UK called parcel2go, not sure if they do it the other way around but they're brilliant.
  17. Lawyers don't need you to be there, they use Docusign these days. I'd do it yourself instead of giving someone else the hassle.
  18. Good luck and thank you for keeping romance alive and well. let us know how it goes!
  19. Hi Leon, If you do a search of the forums for migration agents, you should find a fair few threads filled with agent feedback and recommendations. I found mine that way.
  20. Oh mine won't be 50 pages. I'm just really bad at forcing myself to work on it and not good at selling myself. Done the knowledge areas, now onto the reports. Totally agree there's no point fluffing it out for the sake of it, doesn't do anyone any favours.
  21. on the ACS site there should be a link to the key areas of knowledge document. This splits those 4 headings into the subgroups that you're looking for. You fill out for every part you have some knowledge of, then do your project reports. good luck, i've been doing mine for 2 months now, it's a behemoth of a document.
  22. Hiya - out of interest, how do you commute in from Helensvale and how long does it roughly take?
