  1. Most states have a separate sponsorship criteria/list for recent graduates from their universities, maybe check that out to see if you have a viable back-up option should the change be made. I honestly have no idea regarding the ICAA, never used them for the assessments so don't know if it's true. Hope you get a speedy decision,
  2. It's no trouble. The application can be made here: http://www.migration.tas.gov.au/forms/apply/skilled/skilled. Same website contains all the specific TAS State/Territory nomination criteria/requirements which should be checked first. All the best,
  3. Haha, Its not very subtle is it?! Echo Alan above, http://www.migrationagentreviews.com an independent review site with thousands of agent reviews and testimonials.
  4. If you want to move to TAS I wouldn't wait for them to pick your EOI out, just apply directly to them through their website. Leaving the 457,186,187 options on there just allows Australian business with an Ozkey to view your details on skillselect for a possible employer-sponsored visa.
  5. -are in Australia; -and do not hold a substantive visa; -and have had a visa refused or cancelled since your last entry to Australia (other than visa cancellation or refusal on character grounds or a Partner visa refusal) That's the very specific and rare circumstance. Doesn't apply in your case so no need to worry about any expiry date. All the best,
  6. www.migrationagentreviews.com - To my knowledge the only independent review site for migration agents.
  7. Where did you get the information that it has a 6 week validity from? As far as I'm aware this is a policy that only applies in very specific circumstances.
  8. Fair enough. I'm not aware of a faster way to process it I'm afraid. On a related note, are you sure you have enough points without any work experience? Assuming you've got 30 points for age, 15 for a bachelor degree and 10 points for your IELTS, where's the other 5 points coming from?
  9. If you don't trust your agent things become very difficult for all parties. Points advice is optional, your agent is correct.
  10. That's one of the main reasons why they've closed it down. The yearly visa allocation for all the family migration streams (not including partner visas) is 6,000-7,000 and the demand is getting higher and higher. There's no way they would take additional places from one of the skilled migration streams so instead they've looked into limiting who can apply.
  11. I don't understand why there's such a panic? I've not heard any rumour other than it being a flagged occupation and accountant has been flagged for quite a while. Even if it's taken off the SOL it's almost certain to remain on the CSOL and have a large number of states willing to sponsor.
  12. There's no difference in points between a bachelor degree and an honours degree so there's no danger of overclaiming. Putting it down as an honours degree is fine.
  13. You do have to be a bit careful with the relevance of a qualification, but as I mentioned above it can often be argued. Sure ANZSCO does not specify a relevance, but policy does allude to it......grey area. There's no LMT for hotel/motel manager.
  14. Just let your agent handle it. It sounds like it's been made clear that the establishment is not simply fast food or take-away and also that there is a genuine need for the position. That seems to be what the CO is arguing against and from what you've wrote there's no grounds for that argument.
  15. Australia wants 25-32 year old migrants who speak English and have an in demand skill/occupation. On top of this they want control over who is and isn't eligible. There always has to be some form of Parent, partner or other family migration streams, but it will never be their priority. Harsh as it may be on people like the OP, they won't be changing that policy in a hurry.
  16. Hello Yaz, You don't necessarily need to be diploma qualified, 3 years relevant experience can suffice. The relevance of the qualification is also a bit of a grey area that can often be argued successfully. The company side of things is invariably more complicated than the actual visa application, but most are eligible and if they're not it generally just takes a bit of thinking outside the box to find a way forward. There's no labour market testing for your occupation so they don't have to worry about showing they couldn't find an Australian. We process approximately 30 457 applications a month from sole-traders to global corporates, start ups to established businesses, overseas business looking to start in Australia or even individual migrants looking to do the same. Lots of variables and permutations in this visa class, and lots of ways for the business and you to achieve your goals.
  17. Yeah should still be fine with 60 points, just be cautious of overclaiming, even if it's an honest mistake the chances are you'll lose your $3,520 application charge!
  18. Hi Jack, The 7 years work experience seems a bit off to me. You should only count post qualification experience and if you're only 22 it's probably more like 3 years max. What qualification do you hold and when did you obtain it? All the best,
  19. While waiting for a decision you can look at other visa options, you also have the option to apply for the longer stay tourist (Subclass 600) Visa which would last for 5 years and allow you to stay for up to 12 months at a time in Australia (no more than 12 months in any 18 month period). Keep a close eye on the Parent Visa queue as well, I hate being negative but I can't see the DIBP being in any rush to process those applications. If yearly allocation numbers fall the queue length will rise and the only thing balancing it out will be people in the queue withdrawing applications or passing.
  20. Seems like a complete waste of time and energy, very unlikely to have the result you want either. Have a beer, enjoy your freedom and move onto better things.
  21. No they don't require work experience for the skills assessment. As long as you have an accountancy degree that meets the assessing authority's requirements you're fine.
  22. I can appreciate that, but the problem with this site and other forums is that one persons experience often does not relate to another's circumstance. I see so many posts along the lines of "I sailed through my application and did this and this and this, so you should too".....It's nonsense, the system has far too many variables for a person to give good advice based on one experience. Police checks and/or medicals are not mandatory for a 457. If you do require them you don't have to supply them at the time of application, but the would need to be supplied before a decision would be made. The reasons why you may require them depend upon your circumstances and would require someone to know a lot of details which I doubt you'll want to go into over a forum. You generally have 28 days to respond to a request.
  23. I don't see what the issue is? No work experience is required and as long as you're making an accurate assessment of your situation you'll have 65 points which is fine for an invite (don't bother with the partner skills unless you've already met the criteria). *edit* I see on an earlier post you're the secondary applicant. With that score why not be the main applicant?
  24. Q1-3 depend upon your individual circumstance. Q4 - the 457 visa is an online application only. Can I be quite honest and say your post makes me suspect that very little research has been made. For your own sake you need to ensure you fully understand the requirements before making an application, people who don't are the ones that get rejected. You may well get some accurate answers here, but there's also tons of wrong and/or useless advice every day. It's your responsibility to decide if it's right or not and you can only do that by researching yourself.
