  1. Why would VETASSESS invite you for a visa?? They assess your skills. Once you have a positive one then you can submit your EOI. Or am I confused?
  2. No one knows for definite but it's highly likely it will still be on the CSOL for new list.
  3. HI m8. Firstly as your skillset is on the CSOL you will only be able to apply for a 190 or 489 visa. These require State or employer sponsor. As for what list they will use its fairly straight forward. You wont be lodging your EOI until August or even Sept at the earlist if you haven't started your skills assesment so it will be on the new list issued in July 2014. Concentrate on getting your required pass mark on the IELTS and getting all required docs for your skill assesment and get it sent off. Once you have them then hopefully your skill is still on the new list and you can send in your EOI. By then you would want to have an idea of which state you want to apply for sponsorship or have an employer happy to sponsor you. Hope this helps. Welcome to the forum. ;-)
  4. I believe you get max points for your degree anyway so no need to claim from the masters. That way all your work experince can be claimed from after gaining your degree. BUT remember to claim work experince its has to be paid work and a min required amount of hours a fornight. So depends on how much you were working and studying for your masters. Just something to check.
  5. Guess what??? I did my usual early morning email check and still no visa grant. Left for work then checked again 2 hours later to see 6 new emails!! all updates from immi web site AND one from CO with our visa grant. woo hoo. Thats 14 months from sitting the IELTS. The wait has been punishing but now all the planning stages can be finalised. Good luck with everyone still waiting.
  6. We lodged Aug 2013 and still waiting lol. But last paperwork was sent/received Feb 2014. Trying not to let the waiting take over. We can't finalise anything without the golden ticket and we have to be there before November or PCC meds will expire.
  7. Mine took about 30 days to come back and that was this year. If that helps. )

    Help needed

Hi Gaz. You will only be able to apply as a Civil Engineer if you have a degree in civil engineering. I have a HND in civil engineering but have applied as a building associate which requires an advanced diploma. I never checked the surveyor role tbh. Just so you know I got a positive skills assessment from Vetassess but I also am a project/ contracts manager as well as site engineering. Good luck. I would get a free advise chat from an agent as they will tell you which occupation to apply as.
  9. Just a guide time m8. Each visa application is different
  10. I have an old conviction that was delt with by a fine. I declared it on visa application. My PCC came back with no live trace. So I have been asked for the subject access declaration. Costs a tender, but can take upto 40 days to get. I've been waiting 3 weeks so far and is the only thing holding my visa up grrrr. If I had known I would have applied for it at the same time as PCC.
  11. We went to one for NZ and there was an Aus agent there. We had a free one 2 one and then went it alone. The expo was free to. I wouldn't pay to goto one as we are the potential customers. IMO the ones that charge are just grabbing cash and all the info you need is on here or the net.
  12. Guys you need to chill. Once you've got your VETASSESS result you'll have a load of more waiting to do. Allow a good year ahead. It will arrive in the end
  13. A BTEC national diploma is equivalent to A Level standard. An HND/HNC is Equivalent to Advanced Diploma. I got a positive VETASSESS with an HND and got 10 points. Hope this helps Also O levels etc are school qualifications and I don't believe they count towards skills assessments. But I may be wrong.
  14. Practice for your IELTS so you know the format. I think you'd be very lucky to get visa by Xmas 2014 if you have to wait till July list. It can take some weeks to get sponsorship and invite after EOI then nearly 2 months for CO then the wait and any extra docs required from CO. They state 6 months to process a 190. They don't normally take that long, but as an example I'm approaching 6 months and am still waiting. But I've had to supply some more docs. Best not to try and aim at date to leave. Get your visa then go hell for leather with your escape lol. Good luck fingers crossed for ya
  15. Goto the Australian immigration web site and do the points test on there. Subclass 189 and 190 are the best options to try as they are perminate resident visas.
  16. We paid £307 in UK for an adult. With an extra £45 for blood test if you've got tattoos. Not sure about where you have meds done though.
  17. Quick question. Why have you booked flights before you have your visa? Remember they have a guide time of 6 months to process the 190. To give you an idea some peoples visas are granted quite quickly. Our 190 was lodged August 24 2013 with all docs in by beginning of December and we are still waiting. That's 5 months so far. A lot depends on your CO and how busy they are. Fingers crossed for you.
  18. Hi has anyone used this company to ship to Adelaide from UK? thanks
  19. We lodged in August for SA and still waiting. We are in contact with our CO though and are hoping for grant shortly now Xmas break is over.
  20. Hi everyone. We are planning on arriving end of July 2014 and have spotted a couple houses in the Enfield area of Adelaide. Can anyone tell us what the areas like? We don't have kids so not bothered about schools etc. thanks
  21. I'm still waiting for BK. Now 4 weeks since meds cleared after they were requested.
