Yes if you need the points. Get 8 in all 4 for 20 points. Most need the points to be honest. The more points better chance getting your visa. Bit of advise don't just turn up thinking you'll walk it. You'll need to practice before so you learn the structure of the tests.

Hi guys and gals. Has anyone an idea how long for visa grant after meds have cleared? We are from UK and all requested docs submitted and received. Our CO is Brisbane 34 BK. It's been 3 weeks since meds cleared.

An HND is equivalent to oz advanced diploma. Not sure if HNC is though, maybe advanced certificate if there is such a thing.

Don't know much about WHVisas sorry. I've just checked SOL and QS is on there so a 189 skilled visa is an option. Then you can go where you want. Both QS and construction estimator are on WA list, but you'll need a job offer for the 190 visa as they are on schedule 2.

No not yet. Expecting my visa grant any day. It will have taken me a year to get which is about normal lol. Will be heading to Adelaide July 2014. Try immigration2oz. Quite a few on here use them. Also go Matilda is another I've read people used. I did it all myself.

QS ing and estimating are pretty similar so you should be able to claim for the max work experience points and your QS Bsc be highly relevant to your work experience will help you pass a skills assessment. You just need to find the relevant job name that's on a SOL or CSOL.

The best way is to get a free consultation from a registered agent and they will tell you which is the best job description to apply with. That's what most do. I did lol

As a Management Engineer am I correct in saying you Manage Engineers and their work etc? The reason I ask is I believe the occupations on the SOL and CSOL will be for Engineers. ie Chemical Engineer, civil engineer etc etc. If your a Management Engineer you will most likely need to go for a senior managenment occupation to pass a skills assesment. I may be wrong but thats how i understand the occupations and their job descriptions.

Hi guys. Quick update. We were contacted by CO on 28/10/13 for PCC and meds. PCC,s were up loaded today 7/11/13 and we have our meds tomorrow. So fingers crossed not long now. :-)

Hi If you have received your state sponsership offer you should also receive your invitation to apply for your visa. You need to get your visa application lodged and pay the big $$$ then you'll receive your TRN number. Your age clock will stop then i believe. Depending on the amount of documentation you up load it may be some time before you hear from a CO. I have just waited over 8 weeks to hear from mine!!! Hope that helps

I just completed VETASSESS forms and included certified copies of HND and transcript showing subjects studied and passed. I got positive skills result for building associate. It doesn't sound right as I'm a civil engineer but without a degree couldn't apply for that. If you read the requirements for building associate it's the same a project manager here in uk. So you should look at that as your route to Aus. Once u get visa you can apply for what ever job you want.

Your HNC should be equal to advanced diploma. I got positive skills assessment from VETASSESS with my HND in civil engineering.

CO contacted us yesterday requesting meds and police check. And birth Certs. Meds booked for 8/11/13 and police stuff sent today. Not long now :-)

I am in similar situation. My twin boys live with their mother and have done for the last 5 years since we seperated. They are 17 years old and will be 18 before I go. I pay CSA and as they are in education I will continue to pay as required. I included them as Non emigrating dependants. BUT after reading further I realise they aren't dependant on me. Also they aren't coming to Aus either. So I have completed form 1023 to inform them I made a mistake adding them and they need removing from application.!!! Not sure what happens now. Anyone else had this situation before? Please let me know what happened. Thank

Hi everyone. We applied 24th Aug. Still waiting to hear if/ who our CO is and waiting to be asked for meds/ PC. It's 8 weeks now so will be sending PCs off next week and booking meds any way as fed up waiting for them to contact. We aren't planing on going till August ish next year anyway.

We lodged on 24/08/13 and still no CO. We won't be booking meds or PCC till asked as we aren't in any rush. We don't plan on going till August Sept next year. It's over 6 weeks now so maybe we will hear soon. We will update once we get one. Good luck everyone.

For skilled migration you should allow atleast 12 to 18 months for visa m8

We have lodged SA SS 190 yesterday the 24th August. Started process with the IELTS in Feb 2013. Sorting Police checks next week then waiting for CO and meds. We're not planning on going till next julyish. Feels good to have finally got visa applied for. Good luck every one.

I have got a positive skills assessment with a BTEC HND in civil engineering. It counts as a advanced diploma. Just remember any work experience you claim will be from when you pass your BTEC. Previous experience won't count.
