  2. i would be happy with that lol......but i agree you can always put of to save more, but whatever amount you have im sure you will always think you need more.....i hope not! certainly for a few months anyway Good luck x
  3. Hi Nic thanks for the advice especially the CPR certificate, i have everything printed already lol.....as well as continually doing courses through work to ensure current and extras. Its SA im going to, jobs are about but scarcer than a couple of years ago, seems more likely i will get a job once there as oppose to before, from speaking with a couple of people there. How is Brisbane and working as a nurse there? much different? hope your enjoying it xx
  4. well that all made an interesting read and all were valid points...........well i have to say i see myself going with about $10k maybe a bit more. I am prepared to work at anything until the security of my chosen job comes up ( nurse) have spoke to an agency already will be visiting them first. Yes may be living close to the wire but im not expecting an easy ride by far and expect some difficulties initially......live in the hope all will workout, right or wrong, but certainly prepared to give it a good go. Certainly cannot afford to pay 6 months upfront as someone suggested dear god hope that does not happen.wont be buying a car straight of and will live on a tight budget till some money comes in. So fingers and legs tightly crossedit maybe abumpy ride, but.....an exciting one that i will give a dam good go. TY to all who commented its appreciated xx
  5. gave up and converted to pictures then uploaded 18 individual pages
  6. I have printed and completed form 80, scanned it into 4 pdf's ( 18 page document, 5 pages in 3 pdf's and 3 in the 4th), but its saying pdf to large for upload. I then zipped it but now says not a valid format to upload I have been sat here for nearly 2 hours trying to sort this and now im stuck. How did you upload yours? Oh by the way i dont have a scanner had to go into town to do so i hope i dont have to scan into individual pdfs......that is a killer and will take agessss.......TY .......time for a ciggie before i attempt it again
  7. Healthcare Australia is the one i contacted will be first on my list ofpeople to see when there. It is also SA im going to......Imust say house sitting sounds like a good idea initially ty x
  8. HOPING....that wont happen but contacted 1 or 2 agencies i could work for untill something more permanent comes along
  9. I understand where your coming from with that Lisa, but its very close to PR and is straight forward for transition. My worry is hoping i like SA but 2 years is short enough to get settled get to know Aus. Its just the pack up and go, leaving behind familiarity of the UK and systems that scares me lol. Im sure will work out in the end, if not its an experience.
  10. You upload when you receive it the same way you upload all other documents, ensure you select correct category for document
  11. Police checks are £45 each in uk unless you apply for express service which is £90. Also take into account possible Notary fees which varies, mine was approx £150 as i went back 3 times over last 2 years......also ielts is £140 IF and big IF you pass first time i sat 4 times so £560 for me was still half point of in one category, so gave up and changed type of visa i applied for. Medical i have just booked and was £420 for me, your partner will need one to. Its costly and the little things add up, but as with everyone you do it in stages.....welcome to being broke for a while lol
  12. Hi Lisa, i also have applied for SA 489 for points reasons. Firstly SA (all of it ) is classed as regional including adelaide, so no restrictions on where you live. Also no restrictions on who and where you work,or how many companies you work for ( so long as the first 2 years you remain and work in SA ). to do the transition visa i found out it is only FEW hundred dollars and takes 3- 6 months for PR. Looks straight forward and you need to provide address and employment details for initial 2 years. You can do this, you do not need employer to do. Other than the initial 2 years i dont see much difference, i believe there is some healthcare differences and unable to move to other states if looking for PR down the line. The 475 visa is very restrictive and i personally would not bother with that one but this one seems and is a good option for those just short of points . Good luck and the nerves and questions never subside, i have found this site and peoples feedback most informative and helpful. Good luck
  13. you apply for medical in whatever country you are in. there is a link on immi that shows you who will do in your country, contact them and book appointment they will then load on to immi for you after you have your HAP id, which you will get when you have completed health questionnaire on immi! .Police clearance, you apply to relevant authority in all countries you have resided in for 12 months or more. There is nothing to claim regarding these in skill select. they are standard for everyone who applies for a visa
  14. i was doing that...waiting.... but sent of pcc yesterday and booked medical today for the 13th...ty
  15. ohhhh ok, do u not have to go with ones suggested by immi then, as on there site it separates into areas for example there was only 2 in midlands area? be good to get cheaper if i could x
  16. yes thats how much i think i will have. will try and get job before as a nurse but have a feeling will get one once there as seems a bit tougher these days. live of carrots i think haha
  17. i rang the one in manchester to.....about £80 cheaper but then travel costs for me would eat that unfortunately pffft
  18. Hi im now at the point of thinking how much do i take?..........Not that i have much savings left pffft So i would be looking at a minimum, as unable to sell house for another year but hey ho..............So what was your minimum and did it last you long enough? oh and no kids to take!
  19. congratulations ....looking at your timeline another couple of months for me but hopefully sooner for case officer
  20. I booked my medical today for the 13th of AUG, costing more than i thought £ 405.00. I rang a couple and all about the same price, they advised i will need the referral letter which shouls show barcode in top right corner as well as HAP id and x1 passport size photo. They also upload information within 48 hours after receiving results back( blood tests and xray etc). Also to upload documents there is a link to the right of screen that says UPLOAD DOCS just select what type of doc it is. Hope this helps x Also saw online there costs......a child 11-14 is £199 and under 11 is £99 ....costly!
  21. An exam? to register with aphra? why an exam? never heard of anyone being asked to do an exam
  22. Bsc with Hons UK trained adult nurse, applied APHRA early May, received positive LOD 5th July
  23. Hi i received my LOD early July it states i have 1 year to present at an aphra office to complete registration, if not it becomes void and have to do the registration process again. however, if after 6 months i have to bring an up to date registration letter from NMC. that part is stated on back of letter and very easy to miss if you do not read it fully .
