  1. ooooo looks like things are starting to move for those on a 489,congratulations to those with grants. Still waiting for CO from 21st may.......will sit patient though, hopefully not to much longer
  2. having just received registration myself with APHRA it is a nightmare right now for UK nurses, im one of the lucky ones! If you have it already,i would consider going out to complete registration.......IF you are diploma trained. Currently many waiting since september last year for an answer and many being refused or with offer to do a bridging course.....which is thousands! IF YOUR DEGREE, likely you will be accepted but still a wait, forget the 6-8 weeks timescale, mine took 4 months ( as i said im one of the lucky ones) many have waited longer and still waiting. i have even read those with higher diploma being rejected and those who trained as diploma and then done a degree in specialized area have even been refused. So simply, yes if your degree, a lengthy wait but they seem to be getting approval, all others still no answer or being declined unfortunately. Look at threads re APHRA will give you a good insight, good luck x
  3. Thank you Barbie, no none are top up,i done degree from initial training xx
  4. Thats good hopefully youwill hear soon to. I was getting worried as diplomas seem to be getting refused and no news on any degree trained. Relief swept over me this morning x
  5. Ty Geordie,i knew the update would be bitter sweet..........best wishes to all of you diploma trained.....ridiculous the wait and changes made and hope frustration of it all is resolved xx
  6. APPROVAL of APHRA registration received 4 months after application, hopefully its the start of many more as there has been no news of UK nurses in many months. I am BSC with Hons (degree) trained, and only wish i could say some additional good news by saying i was diploma! But hopefully it gives hope to some of us out there. Good luck to everyone else still waiting xx
  7. morning guys, just a quick update for you.I woke up to an email from APHRA....i have received notice of in principal APPROVAL registration subject to proof of identity (being passport and proofof Aus address) to present in person by the 4th July 2015. though hopefully it provides you some hope they are finally doing registrations, unfortunately i was Bsc with Hons trained not diploma. it is exactly 4 months to the day i originally applied. Hopefully this is a sign that many more of us will be receiving some good news............good luck everyonexx
  8. Hi, just interested to see if anyone has applied for 489 visa. If so was the process straight forward, did you have to complete form 80, did you wait for the request to do medicals and pcc or did you frontload and how long did it take for visa grant? I applied myself 21st may 2014 front loaded all documents that stated "required" apart from medicals and pcc, applied with SA sponsorship as could not achieve 8's in the ielts after 4 attempts and turn 40 this month so would have lost 10 points and the chance for a visa. So now just sitting back and waiting for this and the approval of APHRA which was sent of early March also, just hope this is sorted soon to. Thanks T
  9. ooooooo.....just come across this post as i have not been on in a while.I sent of to APHRA beginning of March received email and letter requesting confirmation of criterion 2 3 8,which uni and NMC sent confirmation of this for me. Email received stating they have received them and still waiting grrrr. Looks like its going to be a long waiting game
  10. well done, now you can look back and all that hard work and determination has paid of, A job you will enjoy in a country you have worked hard to get to. As for mini me well.........how proud will she be when she looks up to you after all you have shown her as well as told her in those bedtime stories dreams can come true. Wish you both all the best for your new start in life....literally!:ssign19: xx
  11. Thankyou for your replies Rupert and Adonna it clears alot up for me, yes i had thought of adding her but thought i could not as she is not registered as living with me and this altered end of last year due to her college choice. Which is why i thought i could not add her, still trying hard to convince her to come but she is adament. It buys me more time to convince her though lol.............Thanks will look at adding her anyway now so long as no issue with her technically her living with me at the moment . thanks x
  12. Hi, to give you an idea i mine was acknowledged 20th june, 15th of Oct i received email confirming completion, still awaiting letter as confirmation. They are taking 16 weeks to reach a decision so you still have a little wait yet. You do not need to wait for completion to apply for Aphra though they can forward documents on completion of ANMAC for you. Cant help on times for that visa im afraid x
  13. Quick question as im confused both parents living in UK and divorced, not dependent on me and brother still in UK to surely i dont class them as dependent when i apply soon? Also daughter is 17 at time i will apply but 18 when i go do i add her as dependent though she has her dad here and lives there mainly due to location of her college and she is planning on leaving home for uni in the next year she is working and has own income though i will always support financially obviously as she is my daughter but she does not want to come.......this thread has confused me.com just preparing to do EOI and dont wish to get it wrong. Thanks in advance.

  22. Thanks for the advice, yes copying everything as igo along, emailed for update on ANMAC they advised its up to 16 weeks now and will let me know if any issues with documents . 23. In a nursing job full time right now, not enjoying the environment im working,in for many reasons, mainly some awkward staff who are part of the furniture and do not like team work some general bitchiness, though i appreciate this is in most places of work and politics with a poor manager. Half the nursing staff have handed there notice in within last 4 weeks and i would have been 1 if not in the process of moving to Oz. Currently waiting for ANMAC hopefully approx 2 weeks wait left and then APHRA,so all stuff signed of thats needed for registration and assessment by current employer. Problem is not enjoying it AT ALL, is it worth finding another job while waiting to apply(hopefully Nov as PR) and for visa to be granted, as hoping to go in March though fully aware it could take 12 months. Or is it not worth it and just stick it out where i am. Dont want to mess potential new employer about if only there for short term but honestly dont know if i can stick where i am while waiting for visa, but dont want to mess anything up with the process. a little advice or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
