  1. Hi, visa invite: 24/11/15. 190 lodged: 24/11/15. Docs and Medicals: 25/11/15. Medicals auto uploaded: 28/11/15. now just waiting to hear!! Fingers crossed for direct grant
  2. Hi, my file was forwarded from ANMAC to AHPRA earlier this year. AHPRA then asked me to complete the new application form (even though I had already submitted the old application form prior to this!). I have now sent them all my documents and asked them for a rough timeline. I was told that they cannot give me a timeline at all, it is with an assessment team but they cannot let me know if it will be weeks or months! Not ideal when I have a job offer waiting for a date in which I can start! I will update my thread if I hear anything. Hayley x
  3. Hello, I am hoping someone can answer this query for me please. I had my nursing documents assessed by ANMAC and received a letter of determination, unfortunately I did not read which code they had assessed me under and it appears it is now different to my visa application. My case officer has queried that my LOD states Registered Nurse (Paediatrics) and my visa application is Registered Nurse (Critical Care and Emergency). I am a registered nurse who works within the Neonatal Intensive Care unit, I am not paediatric trained so i cannot understand how they can put me down as a paediatric nurse. Looks like by CO may refuse my visa!!! i have contacted ANMAC for them to change the code immediately but no luck at the moment. Any advice?
  4. Hi, Just to let you know I lodged my application for a 489 fs visa on 24/12/14 and have yet to be given a case officer (5 weeks so far). I haven't done our medicals or police checks as I was advised to wait until a case officer has been assigned. My documents show as 'received' on the immigov site but I still have no case officer? Think it is taking between 7 - 10 weeks to get assigned an officer, more waiting!
  5. Hello, I wonder if anyone could help with my question please……I received invite to apply for 489 f/s visa on skillselect, I submitted my visa application on 24 Dec and uploaded all my documents apart from medicals and police checks which I haven't applied for as yet. On the immi-gov application it states print off letter for medicals, does that mean I should apply for medicals now or should I await case officer? Our problem is that we are coming to Perth in January 2015 so didn't want to apply too soon for medicals and police checks as our visa grant date would be dated from the date of our medicals/police checks? Thanks
  6. Yay, just received my ANMAC LOD email (just under 16 weeks to process), I have submitted my EOI for 60 points on a 4989 family sponsored visa. Can anyone shed any light on when I may receive an invite? I have read some people have still waited over 2 months to receive an invite, does my occupation as a nurse improve my chances? Also, the medical examination forms for the visa, there are two types 1071i for permanent entry or 1163i for temporary entrée, which one should I get completed for the 489 fs visa? Thanks Guys xx
  7. Thanks for all your help on the timeline issue...I have sent application for AHPRA off and asked ANMAC to forward them my documents once they have assessed my file. Its been 15 weeks this week so hopefully only another week or two to wait
  8. Hi, I submitted my documents to ANMAC and received acknowledgement on 11th July, as yet (21/10) still no reply. Has anyone else been in a similar situation. Also, should I wait for ANMAC decision before applying for AHPRA? I am going to Perth on a 489 family sponsored visa with my husband and two children, does anyone know how long the processing times for that visa are taking? Thanks
  9. Hi, It's lovely to hear from someone who is moving with a child of a similar age and to the same area! We plan to live in Joondalup/Butler/Mindarie area in Perth, my daughter has provisionally been accepted by Kinross High School and she will attend there from July/August until end Jan. In January she will move to Mindarie High School as Kinross feeds into this school automatically. At Mindarie, she will complete 2 years of schooling which is equivalent to A levels and will allow her entry into University. My son is 7yrs old and will leave the UK after completing year 3 but will join Butler Primary School in year 3 (technically he will repeat part of year 3 again). Good luck with IELTS test, as long as you are prepared and have looked into the layout of the ielts test you will be fine. The reading, listening and speaking were absolutely fine for me, but I felt I struggled on the writing part but I obviously did just enough to pass! What type of nursing do you do?
  10. Hi, Practice is definitely the key, especially as they look for certain criteria in your writing and if you cover that then you will be fine. I think I ordered my books online but I am happy to sell them to you if you would like. I have IELTS - Official IELTS practice materials March 2009 & Official IELTS practice materials 2, both have listening CD's attached to them. I could sell them to you for £10.00 if you want? Thanks
  11. Hi Kim, Do you know what kind of documents are required for the visa? I haven't looked that far into the visa's apart from medicals etc. We are moving to Perth (hopefully) in July/August next year, once my daughter has finished her GCSE's. We are also taking our dog with us so if you can help on that side of things that would be great. Keep me posted with regards to your ANMAC, I would be interested to know when you finally receive your letter, good luck x
  12. Hi, I found the IELTS ok(ish), I did buy 'IELTS, Official IELTS Practice Materials' books in academic to practice. These are very good books and very similar to the IELTS test. On the day of the test you will go into a room with several other people and you will complete the listening, reading and writing tests all in one go. I thought the listening test wasn't too hard, it starts easy and gets harder as it goes along. I think I lost marks on a section where there is a map and they direct you around the map and then you have to say where you ended up, I switched off a little bit and definitely lost marks in that section. The reading passages are pretty hard, all I would suggest is look at the question first then read the passage and keep flicking back to the questions. I ran out of time and had to quickly answer the last five questions. For me, the writing part was the hardest. Definitely use a pencil as you can rub your errors out as you go along. For the academic you will have to comment on some type of graph or chart. Just make sure you comment on every element of the graph and make comparisons where possible. Then you have to write a 250 word essay on a question they will pick. Make sure you have an introduction and a conclusion, then put your opinion or argument in the middle of the essay and use connective words e.g Following this, Furthermore etc. The speaking part was no problem, they ask you about yourself and where you live and then give you a minute to talk about a certain subject. Good luck x
  13. Hi Kim, Thanks for your reply. I have all my documents ready for ANMAC and will hopefully have them certified by a Notary Public and posted next week. I also thought ANMAC may take about 4 months to issue a letter of determination, I am so impatient I could hardly wait the 2 weeks for results of IELTS let alone 4 months for ANMAC! Once I have the thumbs up from ANMAC I assume I update my EOI and await an invitation to apply for visa, if I get that invitation do you know which website I go on to submit a visa? Also, should I apply for AHPRA now or wait until I have ANMAC or even wait until I have received a visa? Thanks x
  14. Hi All, I'm pretty new to sending new threads etc so I apologise if I have submitted this message in the wrong area! I am planning to move to Perth around June next year and have recently completed IELTS academic, achieving an 8 in each section. I have all my documents for ANMAC which I am getting certified by a Notary Public next week and then posting off to ANMAC. My question is does anyone know the current processing times for ANMAC? Also, once (of if!) a Letter of Determination is issued, do I add this to my Expression of Interest on the skills select and await to be offered a visa? I am coming out on a family sponsored 489 visa as my husband's sister lives as a permanent resident in Perth and is sponsoring us. I have been a nurse for just over a year in a neonatal unit and therefore I needed the IELTS high band score to achieve my 60 points. Hope someone can help me. Thanks
  15. Hi, I am new to this forum so forgive me if I have sent this message incorrectly. I have recently completed the IELTS test and receive my results in 2 days time!! I have all my documents to send to ANMAC but my question was can I apply to both ANMAC and AHPRA at the same time? I just thought this would help save time. Thanks
