  1. I agree Kelly, maybe we need to draw attention about this somewhere, a wait that was listed as 4 to 6 weeks, taking 8 months! And why not, have a scheme for those who have already been scrutinised by ANMAC, to have a modified AHPRA assessment? So frustrating! ?
  2. Don't worry, that's why these forums are so good, someone will always come along with the correct info! Best wishes.
  3. Not sure where you have come up with this sum, only the results from one sitting of ielts can be used for immigration, not a combined general + academic! You MUST sit ielts academic for ANMAC, and achieve a 7 in ALL components. If you only achieve 7s in the academic, but need 20 points for immigration, you can then sit the ielts general, and aim for 8s, again has to be in all components, and in one sitting. Hope that helps!
  4. Won't there be a shortage of nurses soon if this carries on??
  5. Not aware of a 'skills test' but ANMAC are the body that assess your skills and agree which ANZCO code best fits your skills, but you only need ANMAC for PR visa, to the best of my knowledge. As for job opportunities, I'm just starting to apply as not looking to move until November. Hopefully more expert people on this forum will be able to advise on them. Good luck.
  6. Hi Kandenna, There are many nurses on here, myself included, whose wait is now over 4 months, due to the introduction of new criteria in February. I have PR visa, and ANMAC accreditation. Also am a community nurse practitioner in the UK, but no AHPRA registration yet. So I guess we're all playing the waiting game. All the best.
  7. Hi Lilmiss, Do you now have your registration? Desperate to hear someone somewhere has got through the new process? Feels like we are all in limbo! All the best.
  8. Hope you can find the answer, we're not there yet, so don't know how my children are going to feel when they start their new life! You must be so torn, where would you prefer to be? Good luck x
  9. Hi Shaun, there's plenty of us have had requests, and sent information on the new criteria, we're waiting to hear of anyone actually getting registered, I had a response a couple of weeks after sending my docs, saying application complete, and that my application will now be considered further, that was 3 months ago tomorrow! Arghhh! Hope all goes smoothly for you. All the best!
  10. Sorry, not sure on first point, as I did full ANMAC assessment, so had to sit ielts. Once you have your ANMAC assessment done, it will state what level it has assessed your diploma at, and you should then be able to claim 15 points. As you stated on your OP 'assuming my diploma is assessed as a batchelor's degree'. ANMAC will clarify that. All the best
  11. Hi Dan, I'm no expert, and there are many on here, but as far as I know, you would only need modified skills assessment by ANMAC, so you wouldn't require ielts, only proof that you have studied for 5 years in 'English'. If you did take the ielts test it's 8s across all subjects. But if it's only points for visa, and not ANMAC, you wouldn't need to sit the academic test, only the general, which is easier! My diploma was assessed by ANMAC as batchelor degree equivalent, so why not get your skills assessed first, then you can claim points on the basis of the ANMAC assessment? I hope that all makes sense! Best wishes.
  12. It's good to hear something is moving! My application was accepted as complete on 6/2/14! AHPRA didn't ask me for it, but asked uni to send confirmation of new criteria, which they did last month, but no news yet! Scary times after how hard we've worked, and the fortune we've paid to get our PR visas! All the best.
  13. I think you're on the right thread titan11, Harby88 posted earlier on this thread, I'm just adding a comment, as have not read much lately about AHPRA registrations, so wondering too, if anyone seeing movement with AHPRA. All the best!
  14. Has anyone heard anything from AHPRA? My application was accepted as complete on 6/2/2014, I then got uni to send more info re criteria 2,3 and 8, which they have! But not heard anything! Has anyone received their LOE since new criteria introduced? The silence is deafening!
  15. I did visa myself, no denying it's stressful, even now waiting for AHPRA to come through, but fairly straightforward. Do your ANMAC assessment first, then you have it in writing that they class your diploma as equivalent to batchelors, before you claim points, and pay money for visa. Good luck.
  16. Well said JJ333, worried that some reading may think ielts not needed for ANMAC if native English speaker. I am awaiting AHPRA, which is a nightmare at the mo. But I am a diploma nurse, and I was assessed as batchelor degree equivalent with ANMAC. Now have PR visa, but can't work until AHPRA comes through! Arghhhh! Good luck
  17. Hi, just to clarify for any potential applicants, even British citizens have to sit ielts for full ANMAC assessment. JJ333 does not need to sit it, as already registered with AHPRA, so only requires modified assessment. Just in case you get anyone's hopes up! All the best.
  18. Mine didn't change from the online result! And nowhere was I told they were provisional. But things may have changed, as I did mine Dec 2012. All the best.
  19. I've put this pic on before, but I really found this useful, but it is for the academic test, not sure which test you're doing. Good luck!
  20. We used medmigration at the spire, as Bridgewater wasn't open on the weekend! Great service lovely lady doctor, who was great with our children 13 and 11, an awkward age for Medicals, but she, and all the staff put them at ease.
  21. Hi Richard, 65 points is more than enough. I went for state sponsorship, and was invited to apply for visa 8 days after EOI! Once you're accepted for SS, you will be invited to apply. Good luck
  22. ANMAC give you a very specific template of reference expected. In my case, I showed my referees the format needed, and they filled in the blanks. I Submitted two, just to be sure! Hope that helps.
