  1. Thanks I had a brief look but there was so much info I got a bit confused!
  2. Hi Hope someone can help. Am I right in thinking that a DipHE in Adult Nursing will now need to be topped up to a Bsc for the purpose of registration with APHRA? What if you have a positive skills assessment with ANMAC with a DipHE does this still mean you need to have a Bsc for APHRAreg? If this is the case whats the point in having ANMAC undertake skills assesment if you wont be able to register with APHRA? I had started the process of applying for a visa but will need to rethink if this is the case as cannot financially afford to top up to degree. Thanks for help in advance. Kirsty
  3. Hi, Thanks for this, I went on the website for ACPO and found the following: Where a recordable offence is dealt with by the way of a Penalty Notice for Disorder (PND), that event can be recorded on PNC but will not be regarded as a criminal conviction. So it appears that it will show up, I guess its whether this will be a problem for immigration purposes. This is something we could really do without, I appreciate it is rather minor compared to other offences however it is still possession of a class B drug and was recent that this will go against us.
  4. Hi everyone, I have just discovered that in November last year my other half received a fixed penalty notice for possession of a class b drug. I am extremely concerned that this will show up on a police check and if it does that it may affect our chances of iemigrating. I've started the long process of skills assessment and obviously don't want to pay any more money or time/effort if this will stop our chances of living there. Upset is an understatemwnt. Does anyone have any advixe
  5. Thanks lets hope it stays that way!!!!!!! I haven't managed to sit my IELTS yet Im so worried about it all, im so desperate to get out there xxx Do you think its worth applying for APHRA once I have(eventually) sent all my stuff to ANMAC. xx
  6. Im not sure that is correct as when I look on the aus immi site it states this:( I agree however a diploma is most certainly not a degree however as stated on the immi site it appears it is comparable NOT equivalent) Bachelor Degree To receive 15 points for having at least a Bachelor degree, you must have met the requirements for an award of Bachelor degree by an Australian educational institution or your qualification must be considered as at least comparable to a Bachelor level at Australian standards. For example a Diploma in Nursing completed in the United Kingdom is generally considered by the relevant assessing authority as comparable to an Australian Bachelor degree.
  7. Hi, I feel sick to my stomach! I am really worried, I have only just started the process of getting my skills assessed by ANMAC and I was reading on APHRA website the following information: In February 2014, the National Board and AHPRA implemented a new model to support the nationally consistent assessment of the qualifications of internationally qualified nurses and midwives. The assessment decides whether an international applicant has a qualification that matches the standard of (in the National Law this is called ‘substantially equivalent to’) a current graduate of a Board-approved program of study. http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov...pplicants.aspx I have a DipHe in Adult Nursing now as far as I was aware they assessed the diploma as an equivalent to the qualification needed to register as an RN in Australia, which would attract 15 points on a visa. Is this going to change now? Does anyone know if this will change my entitlement to work as a registered nurse in Australia? I don't want to spend lots of money and stress going through the process of trying to get skills assessment etc if in the end I left with heartache knowing that my qualification will not entitle me to work as an RN in Australia. Thanks in advance for anyone's guidance
  8. Hi, I am just completing a form to allow my ielts results to be forwarded onto ANMAC, I didn't request them to be sent in my original ielts application hence why I am completing the form now. Does anyone know what address I need to send it to? I can only find a PO Box address..... Thanks in advance kirsty
  9. My dad had a criminal history which involved burglary and fraud along with car theft and driving with no insurance. He committed these crimes 15 years previous to his visa application. His visa was granted even with his history he did have to write a letter and explain himself. The crimes he committed were when he was at a 'rebellious' stage of his life and happened some time before his thoughts of immigration he explained this in a letter. Unfortunately he didn't move out there in the end but that wasn't anything to do with his past!! Good luck with it xx
  10. Ok and we are looking at perth in WA! xx
  11. Ah ok I think I have that but will double check. Just looked at practice academic reading its really hard!!!! What area of nursing do you work in? I work in a prison. Did you say your reference is completed? The sister is finding it tricky to write! What address did you put for where you want the ielts sent to? They have sent me a form as didn't include it with original application asking for the name and department and address, but can only find PO box address? xx
  12. So does the transcript need to show my placements etc? Mine show each module and the details of each module etc not where I did my placements. It shows how many practical and theory hours and credits for each module. Such hard work all this!!LOL. So the uni can send the transcript direct to anmac? Can that be done before I submit my online application do you reckon? Sorry for all the questions! Where do u intend to move to in Oz? xx
