Hi Gayle yes it's all very confusing. Firstly ANMAC are the ones who will do your skills assessment for the purpose of your visa. AHPRA are the equivalent of the NMC and are who you register with to work in Oz, that fact that you have a degree means that you shouldn't have to many problems with that, as the rules changed last year and if you don't have a degree it is near impossible to get a registration. there are a couple of ways you can go about things, 1. do your skills assessment with ANMAC and then apply for a full permanent residency visa. You can then apply for AHPRA after and start looking for a job once that has come through. Or 2. you could apply to AHPRA and get your registration in hand and then look for a job that will sponsor you. I was confused by it all so did the AHPRA Registration first got a job offer with 457 sponsorship and came over that way, I have now completed ANMAC and are going for permenant residency that way. You only need the ANMAC skills assessment for the permenant resi visa so if you can get 457 sponsored and get over here it is much easier and cheaper to organise at this end. IMO hope that helps a little and I wish you good luck with it all. A

Hi Chubbs Probably not what you want to hear, but I got my grant over the weekend, status update changed overnight Saturday and I got the email this morning. WOOO HHOOOOO!!!! Its all systems go here, get onto your MA and ring your CO direct, they cant wriggle out of stuff if you ask them direct. I wish you all the very best and I hope it comes through really soon for you.

Ask your MA, they will have recieved email from your CO asking them to sort your Xray, MA will know the name of your CO and have a direct email and probably a phone number, give it a go, ask your MA what exactly you are paying them for, and as its your case tthey shouldnt withhold info from you, Good luck

do you know who your CO is chubbs? i just rang them direct and asked for news, it cant hurt what can they do make do you wait longer?? its already torture,

My CO asked for more info then went on holiday for 3 weeks grr. so i have spoken dirrectly to her team leader, who assured me they now had everything they required from my paperwork and that its just my medical holdng things up. my meds were finalised by the panel doc on the 8th july and didnt get to the person who needs to look at them at global health till last friday, all results were fine as i got copies, so whats the hold up, do they look at them and then put it to one side to look at again later, i emailed again last night for another update and lo and behold no reply again, so im going to ring again sunday night.

Mrs POB when you have a TRN number you can go into immi website and look at the progress on an online application, you my not be able to do this if you are using an agent, as we havent used an agent we have always been able to access our application, im not really well up on this stuff but ask your agent you should be able to access your own case.

Still nothing for me either Chubbs, I rang last week and was told all my paperwork was in order and they were waiting on my medical being looked at, CO assured me i would hear something this week, but there goes another week with no news:mad:

Finally have a CO who is in Sydney (im hoping to go to perth?????????) requested further info and thats been given, meds still not finallised, when i emailed CO about this i go an out of office response telling me she is now on leave for 3 weeks grrr argggg. Got on to my sponsor they are gonna start chasing. i know they are busy but maybe they need to appoint more staff at times when they make these changes Its soooooooo frustrating

Hi All I finally heard from my CO and the further info she needed was proof that i have permission to take my 17 yr old son to Oz with me and my hubby. Our problem is this, the boys biological father has been absent since before he was born. I have no idea where this man is or how to get hold of him. He is not named on the birth certificate and my son has my maiden name. I have emailed CO but its friday and im not going to hear from them until monday, im really worried this could jeopardise our visa. Has anyone had the same or similar experience and what is the answer? here goes another stressed out weekend, waiting on the whim of immigration :mad:

Hi danmc78 I am a nurse so needed medical with extras like HIV and hepatitis blood tests. when you submit on e visa it tells you if you need a medical on submission, Anyone appling for a job like nursing, teaching, pre school teacher will need a medical, and medicals are needed for all going for permanent residency, but on a 457 as its a temporary visa you only need if they tell you. As an Auto Elec I wouldn't have thought you would need a medical, ( but don't quote me!) that's great news for you one less thing to hold things up. Still no more news here, I rang the place that did my medical and they said its all been uploaded, so just in limbo until an email comes through or something changes on the status update on the immigration website. :wacko:

I Know what you mean nickthesaint, we applied on the 17/06 and ii had my medical on the 27th but no news at all. We are supposed to get a case officer within 20 working days now not 10 as it used to be. So our D day was today, im like a basket case with all the waiting , hope you hear something soon, which office are you appling to, we are Perth. Good luck

Unfortunately not, evisa info still says processing commenced for the visa and that all medical tests are still needed, so e-medical hasnt even registered that i have had it all done. Where are you hoping to relocate? I probably shouldnt advertise, but healthcare australia have been fabulous, they are on facebook if you get the chance to look, they have vacancies to fill all over Aus. Really hope you find something soon. :wink:

Agency was healthcare australiia. Very very helpful. Yes 457. going to perth. (I hope). Like i said getting really stressed that i will fail the medical and that we wont get a visa. Probanoy being daft , but when its all taking so long you begin to doubt everything. Im not even sure of my own name somedays lol:-)

i know what you mean, im like a basket case at the moment waiting to hear if my medical was ok and waiting on a word about a visa grant. my husband is suffering from me going on constantly. good luck hpe things work out for you. :biggrin:

I had a similar situation, i had the interview, they said they wanted me, but that they want to take up references themselves, and not use the the healthcare agency that found me the interview. then i waited for 5 weeks before they bothered to contact my current manager, who was waiting to hear from them. all the while i was holding on for a firm job offer. which came 7 weeks after my telephone interview. these Ausie managers are really laid back so dont worry. just go with the flow. its apparently the aussie way. lol

I dont im afraid, but it would make sense that if they were filed that a decision must have been made, so why wernt you told, It seems thatthis medicalthing is a license to print money and all they do is keep you hanging on. i really hope that you get things sorted quickly:biggrin: good luck. xx

Hi we are in the same boat. evisa submitted on the 17 june, medical done on the 27 june, no word from a case officer, but i didnt manage to upload all the requested documents as the immi website was acting up as usual and threw me out part way through uploading. so i know im going to be asked for more info, and i know that they are probably mad busy due to people trying to get in before the price increase. but it is so very frustrating, to not hear a thing, especially as the notes for guidance say you should have a CO within 10-14 working days. Also had to have an extra couple of tests on medical, even though i have a long standing well documented thing, and had letters from various dr's to prove it. How will i know what those results were? Do they tell you your medical is ok?
