As this is something i usually celebrate in England, now i am here does anyone know any places that would promote it here? I am one hour south of Sydney.

Interested in all the camping stuff if you will sell it separatly.

I guess im quite lucky as i cover about 10,000kms per month for my job although in a Holden Commodore including quite a lot on the gravel tracks as go to farms, love the long drives as i dont see it as work. And then for fun at the weekends i load up the Land Cruiser and go on long drives with some camping. Just love the scenery.

Could work well for you with the uk tax year too.

To cover things, you can always serve notice on your tenants and change your mind as i find when i've had to do this they dont have anything organised till the last minute. Or, pay the council tax for them and get the bill. You could count it as a loss if you dont go back or even increase their rent to cover it. They would be paying it anyway. Might be a way to give you more thinking time.

The electrical stuff (tv etc) i have bought here amongst other stuff is actually quite cheap. I dont think i would bring any as quite fragile too. Decent linen, towels etc is quite pricy but i think bedding is different sizes?

This is great, i wonder if i can fill it with a load of 4x4 accessories and send to a mate in the UK? I guess if there is only one of each item and i have paid the tax at this end and it is a "gift" i might get away with it.

I like it here but will never be home. I have worked all over the world on contracts and thought i just wanted to stay in one place but now i realise that England is home. No rush to go, but know i wont stay. Will just enjoy it for what it is and then return home.

mmmmm sausages. Managed to find: Good Tea Passable bacon English real ale (in bottles, but brewery in Wagga making English ales so quite close, see next item.) Giving a taste of the real ales without charging for it! Topping the pint up without an arguement. Giving back a bad pint without an arguement. Oh yes.........a good curry with some taste!

I spend lots of time on that road. If you do go to Wagga, i use the Price of Wales hotel, was there last night, great value and fantastic food. Let me know what town you decide on as have lots of hotels i use.

This affects my house, i left this morning and went over to Dubbo as have some work to do there. The RFS sent a text to all mobiles last night in the area advising the level of risk and that it would be better to leave, my town has limited road access so even if the fire was not too bad you cant get in or out. Thought it better to be safe, the latest says it could flare up again tonight, just heard that a fire man has been badly burnt near Goulburn.

Good luck, i have been here since July. Been here loads before on business and holiday but wanted to give it a go paying tax and rent. While i love it here i dont think i can ever call it home. No rush to go back but i know it will not be permanent here, after making that decision everything seems clear now.

if you are speeding then tough, you break the law you pay the fines. Not sure with Vic, but on a PR in NSW you have 3 months to get your license. Im on a 457 so have to apply after 6 months but as i bought a car then RTA have my license details on file to get my reference number for the Rego.

All transferred and in my name, after the hassles with not having a NSW license, but all sorted now. I just wondered if there was any but the rego doc as that is dated and may run out on the journey and the Russians dont like that (forgot to say i may be driving from Oz to UK)
