1. Just thought I would update you, have recieved a email via my Migration Agent, our CO as given me a date of 21/7/12 as the date or shortly after date for when my visa should be granted. So keeping my fingers crossed. That will be 5 months from start to finish, but being very cautious, as would love to now book the flight, but holding on for more information.
2.

I was wondering if anyone can give me some guidance on applying for nursing positions in Queensland near Woorim. I have approached a National Nursing Agency, who have told me to get back in touch once I have recieved my nursing registration from Ahphra. Can I apply for employment prior to receiving my registration? I would like to think I can gain employment prior to leaving the UK. My Migration Officer also said that my Partner Visa will be more likely granted quicker or on time if I can gain employment. Any thoughts??? I have post reg experience of nearly 4 years, Degree qualified.

3. Hello reading on here, no, they don't give a actual date, just a rough date as in the month, but its not set in stone. If you read a couple of replies on here, some have booked flights when their CO as told them they hope to issue and the date as been changed. The Spouse Visa appears to be a minimum of 5 months as stated on the processing website, but can vary. I live in hope, I have sent all documentation, had police check and medical and have used a Migration Agent, but still could take 5 months. Fingers crossed, that CO hasn't got a backlog of paperwork x
4. I have asked about this you can enter, you must let your CO know first, you will have to organise your own medical insurance and wont be able to work obviously. But you will have to leave OZ for a few days prior to the Spouse Visa being issued then re- enter OZ. Have toyed with the idea, but need to carry on working till I know roughly when the Visa will be issued. I am also sorting out our home here and its taking a lot longer than I thought to sort out years of hoarding and the rental side of things!! But would be happy just boarding a plane right now, miss my hub x
5. Nice one, lets wait and see then. Just noticed on another thread that someone got their approval in 4 wks but used the Perth Office, fingers crossed.
6. I applied to the Darwin office, as was adviced by an Australian Nursing Agency in the UK that they are offering a quick turn around on Overseas Nursing Registration, lets hope!
7. Applied to AHPRA with every document possible, which they have received and also they taken my fee already. They emailed me to say I hadn't given them my employment history of which I had, but they had not read correctly. I phoned twice to the same person with the same explanation, and asked for an email to confirm how far my application was, never got a reply. So I emailed them and got a reply within the day. So will continue to email, as I know they must be busy with all of us applying. So now waiting for them to check my qualifications and hopefully will hear shortly, fingers crossed xx
8. My CO's initials are MC, I have only had indirect contact through the Migration Agent, and to be honest I am the one ringing and chasing up everything. Feel we could have done it ourselves, but just hope that now everything as been done and no extra paperwork is required, its just a waiting game. Just wish we could be given a rough date to work too.
9. I applied 22nd Feb 2012 and money was taken by the Australian High Commission then. We have used a Migration Agent, found out that my application and all paper work didn't get sent and recieved till the 12th of March, so when does the 6 months start? From the time they took the money or when apparently the paperwork was sent?. Have sent in all relevant documents, bills, statements etc, police check and had medical over a week ago. I am constantly asking my Migration agent to find out the progress as the CO as only sent one email to her. So if the medical which was done at a E Health center, which should have resulted in my results automatically being sent via email to the CO. (The bloods and others only take a couple of days to come back), what next? My husband is already in Oz, and I am here sorting out stuff in the UK. Resigned to the fact it will probably be a minimum of 6 months, but was originally told by the Migration Agent 3-4 months, but reading on here it is looking very unlikely:em4600: and more like 6+ months, I miss my hub x
10. Using a migration agent in London as my husband is already in Oz, they sent off my paperwork to the Australian High Commission on the 21/0212, payment taken that day. Police check done and recieved, medical 3/4/12 done. Been told a 5 month wait, anyone had it earlier ?? Cant wait to get back to my husband, left Oz Feb 2012, 5 months is too long to wait miss him so much x
11. I am currently applying for a spouse visa to join my husband in Queensland, I am a registered nurse post-registration of 3yrs+ with a Bsc. I know that I have to apply to the Australian Nursing and Midwifery board, and was not sure if I have to sit the English general test as some links are saying that you do not need it. I also wondered if anyone had applied for employment prior to recieving their registration, and what is the average wait for registration. I am desperate to return as soon as possible, but do not want to give up my nursing position here in the UK, until I can secure a post in Australia. x
