  1. Thanks Pabs. I have some online quotes. Prices range from £136 to £250 so quite a bit of difference, but defo worth doing rather than sitting and waiting for the container to arrive.
  2. My heart goes out to Mr and Mrs Bulger. As if they have not been through enough torment over the years. I agree he should never have been let out the first time, now let out a second time and given another new identity:mad: Too many Doo Gooders and the PC Brigade gone mad:realmad:
  3. Thanks, very helpful tips. My little un is being "scalped" on Thursday in readiness for her trip and stay. She is used to the hot weather here in Spain, but just want do all that I can to make her as comfortable as possible. My two have their heartworm by injection each year. Should I make sure they are aware of this in quarantine?
  4. I have a skype interview on Thursday and the interviewee has dual nationality. The other agencies have all said to contact them upon arrival in Oz. I am hoping that as my potential new employer has been through the process, perhaps they are more willing to give me a chance.
  5. OH is considering sending his worktools by air freight. Has anyone done this? If so, who did you use and would you recommend them? TIA
  6. Thanks very much Ali. Will take a look.
  7. Yes, I think that is what they were referring to. To avoid any condensation getting into the cardboad boxes they said to plastic wrap them.
  8. I thought the UK had sorted this now and said Spain can have the fishing rights? Funnily enough, if you speak to the man and his dog on the street here, they are not interested and think the Government should be spending time on more important issues.
  9. Was speaking to our shipper about water damage in the container. They have said if we have any plastic wrap left to cover our carboard boxes with this in case of water damage. Has anyone else done this? TIA Lorraine
  10. I have packed our photos. Have left them in their albums and wrapped albums in the "shippers" paper or whatever it is called, feels like chip paper to me and then placed into cardboard boxes. My friend did this and said there was no damage to theirs.
  11. Does anyone know or know where I can find out which one has the greater population? TIA Lorraine
  12. Hi, I am just about to finalise my Resume and I am wondering whether I should include the following or not? Nationality: British Visa Status - 189 Permanent Resident What are you views? TIA Lorraine

  14. I am using PetAir, but I have read good reports about Dogtainers and Golden Arrow. Perhaps pet owners will be long soon to give their feedback.
  15. That is for both of them. They are small though. That is based on collection from Sevenoaks, Kent to Perth, WA.
  16. Personally, I think the UK needs to stop going in and trying to rectify the problems in the Middle East. However, I do agree that the use of chemical weapons is intolerable and the UN need to take action, but that is it the UN, not the UK, the Yanks and France (the normal suspects). If Iran and Russia on are on the side of Syria then it will be a War!
  17. I really sympathise with you. We were in the same position a few months ago. Our house had been up for sale for a year and we had 34 viewings. We had actually sold it twice, but both buyers were re-morgaging their houses in the UK and struggled to get finance. One of them only needed 40K. After a lot toing and froing and discussions, we decided to put it up for rent. We have a tenant in place already. They came through our estate agent and they move in the day after we leave Spain. We now feel we were obviously not meant to sell. Our asking price was 120K under what we paid for the property. Now we will have to play a "waiting game" with the market and wait for the prices to rise in a few years. My SIL has just sold her property in SE London for the full asking price to a cash paying first time buyer after a month on the market (we are really pleased for her, but would love to have been in her position). We keep hearing on the news that the market is definitely getting better. What are your agents saying? What is the feedback from viewings? Good Luck

    Rascal

    Rascal is very cute Stacey.
  19. We have stayed in the huts on Koh Samui beach and also the Imperial Boat House Resort, which we loved. http://www.imperialhotels.com/imperialboathouse/gallery-en.html Personally, we did not think Krabi itself was that great and preferred KS. From Krabi we caught a long tail boat and stayed on Railay Beach, which was just idyllic http://www.railay.com/railay/intro/intro.shtml We stayed here in cabins just back from the beach. Hope this helps.
  20. Where have you been Bungeeman! Glad to hear that life is treating you well. As always, your post made me really giggle:biglaugh: Good Luck with your new job, the house build and of course the impending visit from the Outlaws:wink:
  21. We have a short term let booked for 4 weeks when we first arrive in Perth. We hope to register with the ATO and Medicare as soon as we can upon arrival. How long does it take for the Medicare cards and TFN Numbers to be sent to you? Is four weeks long enough? If not, any suggestions as to how to get round this? TIA Lorraine

    The doggy thread

You are not wrong. Beagles are an adorable breed, but they are stubborn and only do what is best for them, so can be tricky to train. We were lucky in that we had an obedience class nearby so Purdy went there from 12 weeks old and it really helped us. If they get a scent, they are off. Once we took her for a stroll along a beach. She got a smell of someone's BBQ and we have never seen her run so fast. She went up the sand dunes and pinched this man's burger from his BBQ. We were mortified, but the man could not stop laughing and thought it was hilarious.
