  1. My second car out here was an EA Falcon S ( think the S was for sport ) went like stink handled like crap but never had a problem with it over 300 000ks on the clock and every electrical item worked even the air con. The guy was selling it as when you started it you kinda had to keep the revs up bit hard to explain but quickly found the problem (stupid design really) one of the main cooling pipes ran over the top of the spark distributer was slightly leaking changed that out and all was good again.
  2. WHV must be applied for off shore Sorry to hear about the job. Best of luck finding a new one hope it all works out for you.
  3. I was told to fill it out the best I could. IE someone of your position is reasonably expected to no or what ever the agent told me. I also put in the the schooling and education part "please see attached CV" I don't recall the having to answer the personal contacts bit ill have to dig my form out. Maybe I put my sister I didn't think it was to bad TBH just tedious, I think i was well prepared though with dates of births of all family members and certs and other paper work. Oh i remember i had to do a stat dec about the expired passport. What a joke, who's going to A) travel with a passport that's out of date ( i can see in to the future and i knew i was going to need this old passport that's well out of date to complete me form 80 NOT!!!) or B remember where it is 10 years later (in the man draw er in the UK)
  4. I think i was extremely lucky. Never asked for a thing. 3 month 3 weeks later here's your PR thanks for coming
  5. I see my accountant every year at HR Block. Normally with in two weeks the funds are cleared in my bank account, last year 2013 my tax return owned me $7200, Not bad. However have you lodged a tax return last financial year October was the cut off i think You cant do anything until you get a end of year statement and you can then lodge it in June.
  6. There is a service deliverable from DIPB on there website for each visa.
  7. Lost my job due to the big R word tried for two years to get work had the odd bit here and there but nothing sustainable lost my house. lost my cars except one that my gran-dad bought back off the guy I sold it too as a birthday present lost my girlfriend of 4 years. almost lost my mind trying to find work and fighting insurance companies to pay up each month I was broken. Sister rang PR in Melbourne 14 years said come and live with me for a year ill pay for your visa and ticket. Got offered a 457 while working for a company on the WHV and two years later applied and got our PR.
  8. Done ours in Australia. two adults health check bloods and chest xray $700.
  9. Meh you lot need to suck it up cold yes freezing no hot yes unbearable maybe a few days a year I use the reverse cycle heating or cooling maybe 1 week of the year the rest of the time you dont need it. All depends on the house and if it was built correctly. Even this house needed to have the insulation rolled out in the roof space after inspection as all the trade had done was just chuck the rolls up in the loft and left them there.
  10. Cant really comment. Its what you make it, its certainly has a zing to it lets put it that way. The only place I've been in Australia where i cant really see my self living based on the "life style" is Christmas Island and Darwin, but thats me and to be honest although I think im a good judge i don't think spending a few day or weeks anywhere is really enough to base an opinion on. Although 10 mins on Christmas Island was enough lol. See i LOOOOOVE the gold coast but how quickly would i get board of it if i lived there?
  11. Brisbane is a hard market to crack You should have more luck in Melbourne
  12. For the entire time I've been in Australia 4 years its been the same gray outlook. But we seem to ride the waves and get on with it. I will agree that it is excessively expensive to conduct business here.

    Here they come.

Its the case with anyone that refuses to integrate or adapt what ever country you are from
  14. jjgibbs

    Here they come.

Bit mixed on this if i'm honest I have no problem with legal migration hell it would be a bit, calling the kettle black (sorry lower index tone must be pc correct) However its when those that migrate don't integrate and try and force there way of life on everyone and play the card "in our county" well your not in YOUR country anymore...... deal with it adapt or go home. its that simple.
  15. PS there is a security bound that could be asked for normally between $5000 and $10000
  16. Subclass 600 but that is temp 3 to 6 months no work rights was form 1149 you also have to have PR or citizenship
  17. NP You have less then two months to lodge it. It may take that long to organize criminal history checks and medicals? took around 4 weeks to get ours back. You can pay extra to have them quicker. I don't think you can release you super if you intend to return. Its only if you don't a bit like when you leave the UK there was some form i had to fill out and i had to declare that i did not intend to return to the UK for them to release anything owed to me. Even that took a fair while to hit my back account. not sure if its any easier the other way round though.
  18. ^^^ This Except there are a min number of hours you have to log before you can take your test, in SA at least. At present i think its 100 hrs with some of that at night
  19. HI As far as i know The visa you are looking to apply for could take up to 6 months to process. This don't include any of the time it takes to get all the relevant checks and medicals organised and back to lodge with your visa application and at this time of year i would have thought your pushing it. If you apply in England you can pay with Australian $$ no problem. I'm sure you can use your AnZ card or Nab or who ever To become a citizen you must have been living in Australia on a valid Australian visa for four years immediately before applying which must include the last 12 months as a permanent resident, and not have been absent from Australia for more than one year in total, in the 4 year period, including no more than 90 days in the year before applying. My sister 13 years before me and myself found anything to do with leaving the UK extremely difficult in the UK. However that is not to say that its going to be any more or less of a challenge for you. Hope this helps
