    Too old??

things change all the time with visas, why not have a quick chat with a registered MA, probably a recommended one, there are plenty recommended and not on here, George Lombard seems very popular and has been helpful to me, I would have thought someone to give you an answer without costing a lot of money. If you don't try, you will never know good luck Cal2
  3. didn't want to read and run although I don't have any experience of spousal visa, surely some one will have photos of both of you together, friends, other family, what about evidence from 2004 onwards, maybe that is what they are looking for Cal2
  4. hope you've heard something by now Cal

    Birkenstocks

Hi, I need some Birkenstocks, used to get them via Amazon in the UK, and could get my son to bring out a couple of pairs at Xmas, but long term wondered if there was a good online shop in Oz, where I could get them, or is it better / cheaper to get them from a store thanks Cal2
  7. we've been talking about doing exactly the same thing, BUT as complete amateurs thought we'd try before we buy, not sure whether to tent or caravan, anyone know of good campsites, gold coast to sunshine coast (barrier reef area), that we could try caravans and tents thanks Cal
  8. My OH has a pension in the UK, which is taxed, he has been told that because of it he'll need to pay more tax here and that I wont be classed as dependent because I have a smallish pension in the UK, totally confuses me, especially when we have a house in the UK and supporting a son at Uni, can someone advise or point us the right direction for good advice thanks Cal2
  9. not sure if it applies here or not, but it's useful to know in the UK at least, if a debt is in dispute no details at all can be passed to any 'collcetion agencies', you simply write and tell them it's in dispute and remove al details from all records they have, and complain to the original agency. The only debt that can be collected is that ordered by a court. Cal2
  10. Hi, we're getting mixed messages on the one side we're told LAFHA is stopped except for those maintaining 2 homes in Australia, one that is rented where you work, that arent rented out to anyone else, that are citizens or on a pr visa and that its for a maximum of 12 months or its stopped full stop, we should come under the first scenerio but my OH company says its a lifestyle choice that we dont live where he works? confused Cal2
  11. can anyone recommend stables for my 9 year daughter to start learning to ride at. I'm down on the Gold coast in Queensland, near Robina. Although I've ridden english I'd really like my daughter to learn natural horsemanship, which seems to becoming more popular. thanks
  12. I live in the area, but not for long so cant answer all your queries, have you tried posting on the Queensland board too
  13. we used Crown, PSS were way out on the quote and really couldnt handle transport of our car, at least thats the impression they gave, both John Mason and Crown were great, but Crown had the edge on better transport of the car and used their own people all the way through
  14. sorry not in Perth, but on the Gold Coast ....... we went to a winery and found to our surprise, dont know why we were surprised that wine was cheaper there than in the beer shops, extra bonus you could taste before buying
  15. Could anyone please advise me about having these done in Oz, I've been told to get an annual skin check (actually all the family have), but dont know how to go about having this done, or how much it will cost, the same for the Pap test (smear) and mammogram (if thats how you spell it!). I'm in Queensland and I saw a health trailer van advertising to call in and have a mammogram if you were over 45, is that what you do? Just rock up any advise welcome, thanks Cal2
  16. we've choosen the same option as Shelley, not plans to go back though Cal
  17. vandeep, there's still a chance, some of us have passed with transplant, so the best we can ever have is 50% as we only have one functioning kidney, Cal
  18. if you search under 'transplant' there's a thread on there with a few of u, with transplants who have successfully been granted visas, maybe worth a luck for support Cal
