You would be very lucky to get the 6-8 week range. It all depends on ship schedules, loading levels, customs clearance times etc, etc ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

  6. I thought the threshold was higher than that, nearer $120k as we jointly earn $96k and still get some assistance. Yes I think you have to be receiving Part A to get Schoolkids Bonus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  7. Our school asks for an annual contribution of $60 per child, uniform cost about $250, stationary about $90 then other activities maybe another $100. If you are PR and claiming family assistance from centrelink you get $410 a year Schoolkid Bonus (unless the Liberals get in next month). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  8. Had a good look around but can't see it, just references saying it would not be a tax exempt investment which I already know ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

  12. Can't do anything with the state pension, I got an update from them and I need to pay 2 more years NI contributions to get the full amount so may do that as its not much. Unfortunately it gets frozen instead of continuing to be index linked so we get ripped off a fair bit but if you move to France/Spain etc it stays index linked ! 14. I will of course strictly follow the rules laid down for my QROPS compliant SMSF. Does anyone have the documents regarding the rules on using my SMSF which has UK sourced funds in it for property investment ?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

  16. The reason it is only a moral obligation is to allow flexibility for personal circumstances like relationship break ups, inability to find a job in that state etc. To my mind you are the one with the occupation in demand so you are covering your obligations and he is merely trying to contribute and he has a valid job offer. Been here 9 months and had no communication from WA so how do they keep tabs ??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  17. Seems grossly unfair if that is the case. Those UK pension funds, other than the state pension, are my contributions for my retirement. i should be able to take those to my new country of residence and continue to grow those funds as I choose either with professional advice or on my own !?? Do you have links to any HMRC documents clarifying the non property investment rule ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  18. I agree with Kirk for the first time ever ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  19. I would say no as you have the sponsorship to meet the need for your occupation in that state. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  20. WinkyD, Regarding using funds for residential property investment, you can use these funds for that once they are in a Self Managed Superannuation Fund and this is what I intend to do. Your fund can even raise a mortgage to help buy a property but there are strict guidelines to follow. I was puzzled why the other member suggested this was not possible ?? 22. My 8 years UK NCB is on my Aussie policy, 2 cars $900 a year. It bugs me to pay CTP when my private policy covers it and more ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  23. Opened our NAB accounts online in the UK and just went to the Perth CBD with ID to finalise and pick up cards........too easy !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  24. And another NAB fan, it even has my credit card account showing so i can easily see my balance and simply transfer finds across from my normal bank accounts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  25. I am using them at the moment and they have made the process of transferring 4 pension funds into an SMSF that they have set up for us very easy. I know they are not financial advisors and they do make that clear from the outset. I'd be interested to know why uk pension funds are not considered suitable for residential investment as that is the main part of our strategy ?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
