  3. If you get registered with AHPRA then ANMAC only do the modified assessment. ANMAC faq below http://www.anmac.org.au/faqs#010 If you need to provide evidence of recent skilled employment (under any ANZSCO Code) in Australia or internationally in order to obtain points towards your visa application you will need to provide a professional reference of at least 36 months’ international experience or 12 months’ Australian experience. ANMAC has provided an example that helps to explain the professional reference requirements. (Ali has already posted a link to this above)

  7. Hi guys Did a quick search under maternity didnt find an answer, if its been answered already apologies in advance Help please, does anyone know or have experience with the points test on this please From DIAC info points test <<To claim points for skilled employment you must have, in the 10 years before you were invited to apply, at least 20 hours of paid work per week in your nominated skilled occupation and/or a closely related occupation. >> In respect to maternity does "paid maternity" leave count towards it, you have a contract saying you are employed for the required hours and pay slip saying you are paid. Or is the "paid work" mean you have to be at the work face. TIA
  8. Would maternity pay plus statuary pay combined count as full pay as long as the amounts tally up? for example in the nhs you can get 8 weeks full pay on maternity 18 weeks on maternity and statuary pay then 18 weeks half pay effectively thanks WR
  9. My hat off to these guys without what they did many more lives would have been lost Quotes from Oppenheimer "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." It worked! (after the Trinity test) If atomic bombs are to be added as new weapons to the arsenals of a warring world, or to the arsenals of the nations preparing for war, then the time will come when mankind will curse the names of Los Alamos and Hiroshima. The people of this world must unite or they will perish
  10. If she qualified in Poland then could be reason why.

  13. The Australian coats of arms two animals, the Kangaroo and the Emu where choosen because they never walk backwards
  14. Have you considered going to a Regional area, the chances of getting PR sponsorship are much higher Most of the larger cities are looking for at least 2 years exp, with 3 years for the ENS 121 route We looked at one regional hospital they were looking for qualified registered nurses, when we asked what experience was needed they said none. As for IELTS its an exam designed for overseas students who want to study in an English speaking uni its not an intelligence test, for a native speaker who has done the Nursing diploma/degree its all about practicing. Once you have the technique you should get through it

  18. Yes you can I looked this one up Im already Dual with Irish and UK citizenship http://www.citizenship.gov.au/current/dual_citizenship/ [h=1]Dual citizenship[/h]Main content It is possible to hold citizenship of two or more countries if the law of those countries allow. This is known as dual, or multiple, citizenship. People can become dual citizens automatically, or after being granted citizenship of another country. For example, an Australian citizen may automatically gain citizenship of another country through marriage, while a permanent resident of Australia may become a dual citizen by becoming an Australian citizen. Prior to 4 April 2002, Australian citizens who became citizens of another country lost their Australian citizenship automatically. Wildrover

  20. Hi Guys Speaking to my Sister in Ireland she heard on the radio that the Australian High commision will be changing the immigration sysyem significantly in July 2012 (its the Gov then DIAC that changes these, not the high Com, so not sure if true) I wonder if anyone else had heard this or more importantly can confirm it or deny it? Ive googled the Irish pages (This is from an Irish web {a migration one wont say the name PM me if you want it) site, unconfirmed etc) >>Beginning 1 July 2012, Australian immigration will be introducing huge changes to their skilled migration program. This represents the most dramatic change to the Australian immigration system in many, many years. It is expected that under the Australian immigration system fewer people will qualify and processing times will be longer. If you wish to come under the current skilled immigration programme you should apply for a skills assessment as soon as possible. You need to be ready with your skills assessment and, have passed the English language test before you can submit your immigration application. Australian immigration's new skilled worker program will be called the Skilled Migrant Selection Register, known as SkillSelect. In order to apply, you will have to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). The SkillSelect will work as an electronic two-stage process where prospective visa applicants first submit a claim for skilled migration through an online EOI. Following this, applicants may then be invited to submit an Australian visa application on the basis of their EOI. This is a really significant change from the current Australian immigration system. It is likely that fewer people will qualify under the new scheme because under the new scheme you will not only need to gain enough points but, in addition, Australia immigration will decide whether or not you will be allowed to submit an application. This is compared to the current system wherein if you gain enough points under the particular visa scheme you are likely to get in. From 1 July 2012, all new prospective Australian skilled migration visa applicants will have to submit an EOI and wait for an invitation before they can lodge their visa application. For those who have lodged a visa application before that date, Australian immigration will process the application in accordance with any priority processing direction in effect at that time. Australian visa applicants will be selected based on their points test score in a number of selection criteria. All prospective visa applicants will be required to meet the relevant English language requirements and obtain the necessary skills assessment prior to their EOI submission. However, unlike now you will have to also be approved by SkillSelect to obtain your visa. This brings in greater uncertainty compared to the current system. The SkillSelect system will affect applicants for the following Australian skilled visas: Independent Skilled Migration (subclasses 175 and 885) State Sponsored Skilled Migration (subclasses 176 and 886) Business Skills (subclasses 132, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 890, 891, 892, 893) Employer Nomination Scheme (subclasses 121 and 856) Regional Sponsored Nomination Scheme (subclasses 119 and 857) Subclass 457 Temporary Business (Long Stay) visa (subclass 457).<< Wildrover
  21. If you go for a regional migration area hospital ie outside of major metros then good (some just want registration). Inside then most are looking for 2 plus years (but you might find some who need less)
