  3. If you get registered with AHPRA then ANMAC only do the modified assessment. ANMAC faq below http://www.anmac.org.au/faqs#010 If you need to provide evidence of recent skilled employment (under any ANZSCO Code) in Australia or internationally in order to obtain points towards your visa application you will need to provide a professional reference of at least 36 months’ international experience or 12 months’ Australian experience. ANMAC has provided an example that helps to explain the professional reference requirements. (Ali has already posted a link to this above)

  5. OET Veterinary Science is one route But IELTS general tends to be easier than OET OET advantage it will be possibly more in your field

Or is the "paid work" mean you have to be at the work face. TIA
  8. Would maternity pay plus statuary pay combined count as full pay as long as the amounts tally up? for example in the nhs you can get 8 weeks full pay on maternity 18 weeks on maternity and statuary pay then 18 weeks half pay effectively thanks WR

  12. If you go for a regional migration area hospital ie outside of major metros then good (some just want registration). Inside then most are looking for 2 plus years (but you might find some who need less)

Welcome to PIO :biggrin: The info you need is here AHPRA - Update for international nurses >>Applications received after 14 September 2010 Nurses and midwives qualified in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the United States of America, Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore who have a degree or a diploma and further education and who are registered as a first level nurse in these countries, are deemed to have the equivalent qualification as a practitioner qualified in Australia. Specifically, this means nurses and midwives who have successfully completed a minimum six semester (or equivalent) Bachelor degree or Associate degree (or higher) in general nursing at a university in one of these countries, who also has professional licensure as a registered (first level) nurse in the country of education, will be considered to meet the requirement for equivalence to an Australian degree completed at an Australian university. Nurses and midwives from these countries who have a Diploma of Higher Education or Advanced Diploma at a university or equivalent institution, together with professional licensure as a registered nurse and further professional/post-graduate education, also meet the standard for registration as a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Nurses and midwives with only a diploma qualification from these countries will require assessment of their further education and/or work experience to determine if they are equivalent to an Australian qualified practitioner. <<

However The changes in July only apply to the following visa's Copied from DIAC >>Who will the new points test apply to? It is important to note that the new points test will only apply to one component of the skilled migration program. This change will not affect every type of skilled migration visa and only applies to applicants for the following visas: Subclass 885 Skilled Independent Subclass 886 Skilled Sponsored Subclass 487 Skilled Regional Sponsored Subclass 175 Skilled Independent Subclass 176 Skilled Sponsored Subclass 475 Skilled – Regional Sponsored. When will the new points test come into effect? It is proposed that the new points test will apply to applications made from 1 July 2011, unless the applicant is eligible for transitional arrangements.<< It will not apply to 457 and the ENS 121 which don't need the full Degree. Yes this will effectively stop the GSM route for many with the Diploma. Not sure why they are doing this but I've heard a rumour that they want Nurses to go down the 457/121 route, the concern was that people getting GSM 175/176's and then not following up with a job as a nurse. When they realise that the numbers of nurses immigrating falls they may have to change this.
