  2. Oh! and I secretly renewed his RRV for 5 years for him, He needs to find out for himself where he needs to be
  3. my younger son is returning to UK, will be with his mother, beat myself up over the dilemma of having one son in UK one in Oz and I like both countries I know now though that just knowing that they are happy wherever they are and living life for themselves and not for me is all I need.
  4. wrong thread for you sydney. this is mbthuk site, people can vent and have their own opinions, not sure why those who love oz need to visit the thread to make personal comments. its their opinion. its not them that need to get over it.
  5. Er.... That could have been me, and I'm 50. fair few towels gone missing in our house, hidden in man shed, and new cheap ones just appear as replacement

    Returning to Wales

Sister told me her friend and family moved to Wales, The Mumbles?
  7. living in perth is good preparation for expensive hobbies. pound getting stronger though
  8. 3 years of your life you will not get back again, but at least you have been there and tried it and given it a good go seems you are able to make a practical decision not an emotional one. Good luck
  9. Nothing wrong with the UK, my pals on south coast are doing well, plenty of work, had the summer now winter nears which brings christmas. dont see either country as being better than the other, see it as being different, worlds a smaller place now nowhere need be forever, here Perth has its problems as does any country but all have their plus sides too. nice temps here in Perth at the moment but I dread the extreme heat where you cant go out and shadow hop. :-)
  10. :cute: Have to give one a try. Wonder if I jump in one I hear 'Where To Guv'
  11. I dont understand either the UK or Australia thinking its better to cut kids education and hospital staff in favour of building projects etc. never got that.
  12. Boom and Bust, happens in every country, UK, USA, Australia. just got to accept when at the top the only way is down and vice versa budget accordingly. We've had it good here for a long time, now just have to cut the cloth accordingly. Things were down in 2003 when i arrived here.
  13. Just realised each state has their own credit rating, reading the news on it they saying the increase in population, too much reliance on resource sector etc causing the probs. bit of a concern, might leavhouse sale in Uk til after xmas
  14. Just announced that Australia has lost its treble A rating, any idea what this means for us minions? I am contemplating selling my Uk house as now increased in value more than 10k, trying to time currency exchange timing to maximise funds
  15. Although I have now let my gassafe and gas lic in UK elapse I find I am getting plenty of e-mails from different agencies asking for gas engineers across the south of England. I must have registered sometime with them years ago. Always a good sign for those returning. So if you are returning at least you go back on the 'up'. I know 2 peeps going back, good luck to them I find it strange that no-one has mentioned the increase in unemployment here in Oz and that WA has the biggest rise. and Uk slight decrease The usual suspects in the UK who have their fingers on the button bit quiet
  16. Destined for better things then LR, all happens for a reason
  17. I,m very much the same, can live here in Perth or the uk, both have faults and pluses. job here and studies, good job in uk and still have house there with very little mortgage left. If someone forced me to live in either country it would be no big deal to me. I think I am lucky in that I have close family in both countries and grew up near the sea all my life and generally obtained what I wanted through working hard for it.
  18. those tanks up and down the A3 never had any traffic probs, cant think why
  19. I was down in myaree today, made my way home to Kingsley via the tourist drive. I have lived near the sea all my life in the UK, but I love this cruise home, stopping off at a muzz buzz for the large Tea and cruising the coast. temps just right this time of year,
  20. Pompey is my home. love the seafront one end countryside the other, worked in Boredom for few weeks replacing boilers in army barracks. best bit bout bordon was the country drive to and from it, and that frekin chinook chopper that pops up from that not so secret landing area was due to give me heart attack.
  21. That dreaded 3 month brick wall time. Its because the initial euphoria has past and your comfort zone has gone that brings these feelings out. as peeps have said. make the effort to get out there, summers coming and its dream time for those plans of yours, those feelings of despir will ease, near all of us have experienced those feelings, hang in there.
  22. To be fair, British motorways are so crowded that, if everyone left the proper distance, as the car at the head of a queue arrived in London, the car at the back of the queue would be in John O'Groats. Not much fun on the freeways here in perth either. 10yrs ago rushhour gridlock was a bus at a bustop. then someone shouted out about how beautiful perth is
