  1. Hi of course you can sell your car if it is on finance.........You ring the finance company , explain your situation , ask them to buy the car back from you if possible so the loan can be settled ........................I did this in the Uk when i bought a Black London Taxi , or else if you can sell it privately or at a dealership , If there is a shortfall in what you get fro the car and what you owe on it , they can re organise your load so not to cause any further financial hardship.I was lucky with mine , i got the full asking price from the loan company and then it was auctioned off at those car auction houses we all know. Failing that ask the loan company to re possess it as you have no other alternative but to return to the Uk , Good luck i am sure it will all work out for the best
  2. I lost a tooth 26 years ago when my first child was born , i know have the matching one on the other side doing the same , I have a calcium deficiency and Osteoporosis so i think ive managed without for this long and the thought of $3400 when my teeth are going to naturally going to crumble to dust seems an awful lot to splash out on , i would rather buy a new car to be honest

  6. Once you have tried BISTO GRAVY GRANUALS you will realise why US POMMIES here in Oz have it sent over .You will ditch your Gravox for ever. There is alot more choice in shops , you will be amazed at what there is , there are even CHIPS u put in the Microwave for 2 mins and you have HOT CHIPS to go.It is what you get used to but honestly i think you will be pleasantly surprised with the Uk food super markets. One thing i do miss is WILTSHIRE HAM makes my mouth water just thinking about it , i hate this Shaved rubbish you have here .
  7. Looks to me that u PASSED !!.I had to re take mine because i got 0.5 of a mark not enough for my total points , I had to PAY AGAIN take a DAY off work to do it and it really hasnt made any difference to me now i live and work in Australia, end of the day as long as you got an average score of 7 it gives you the Max points u need , save your cash ITS CHRISTMAS man .
  8. hello ......................We noticed this price hike when my Husband recently returned to the Uk from Brisbane for his fathers fruneral .Singapore Airlines was BRISBANE SINGAPORE MUNICH MANCHESTER Price of FLIGHT $2557.78 THAT was roughly 1700.00 POUND by that days EXCHANGE RATE, how ever the same Flight reversed was costing around 600.00 POUNDS WTF it should not be allowed , no wonder they will not let you book a Ticket from the Uk and then pay in Aussie Dollars its ONE BIG RIP OFF if u ask me .
  9. PR IS DEFO THE WAY TO GO..................................You get more benefits from the PR like only paying for school books and not massive school fees.I know someone who came on a 457 and they had heaps of problems , you might arrive quicker on a 457 but honestly having gone through what we did when we first arrived i'm sure glad we came on a Independent 175 visa coz if we had come on a 457 , we would be back in the Uk now, hubby had to stop work coz i was so ill but now we are happy and settled and happy to be able to go where ever we like .A 457 visa ties you to a specific employer and if you leave or get sacked technically you are only allowed 28 days to find another sponsor , each visa has its benefits all depends if you want to play safe and be in control of your own destiny especially with Jobs the way they are at the moment , its your call only u can decide Just glad we took the right path for our family Good Luck
  10. Hi Jill Its RIKKI here , Our Niamh is currently in year 4 (she is now 10 since 30th Oct this year) , school ends here on the 14th December for school summer hols and they go back around 27th Jan.Niamh will be in YEAR 5 when she returns and Jack is a year older than here isnt he??, when they were in the Sunny coast Jack was a year above Niamh so my reckoning is he will go into year 6.If you are thinking of him going to school at Coomera Rivers if they say YEAR 7 he will more than likely end up going to the New Pimpana school where Tricia's lad is going all year 7 & 8 are starting this time , how ever kids in other schools have the option of staying where they are or else go to the new school.By 2015 all kids in year 7 will move up to secondary school so confusing i know but im sure you will work it out see u soon xxxxxx
  11. HI Fiona , we have just gone through this with our Son, He was 16 and offered a CERT II PRE APPRENTICE MOTOR MECHANICS COURSE 7 months before he should of finished in yr 11 at Christmas. After much thought , we decided to let him leave school as he was 16 and go on the course , He has now completed it on 19th Oct 2012 and has excelled more than we ever thought. He struggled through school all his life , having medical issues that ment he spent a lot of time out of school in his early years .He also has ADHD and so off he went to Tafe and OMG he has surprised us all.He now works in a car repair Garage and is really doing well , once he has passed his test for his driving when he reaches 17 next July , my husbands work place Volkswagen have said they will take him on for an apprenticeship to do his Cert 111.In the meantime he is learning on the JOB and happier than he has ever been before .My advise to you go with your heart , IT WAS THE BEST DECISION WE DID FOR OUR SON .
  12. Hi Jill , try China Southern too , stop overs are a little long in how long the next plane wait is .Mark Used Singapore Airlines and only had a 2 hr wait.I know its all about price when your all coming back .Check out Etihad and Malaysia Airlines too .keep us posted x
  13. hi there we used migration expert best money we ever spent , if your visa is straight forward save yourself some cash and do it yourself , how ever ours was more complex and complicated as i was adopted at birth , not married to now Husband had 2 children under his name at the time and mine different made to a lot of complicated extra paper work , I have to say that Migration Expert were fantastic and well worth the money it cost us too , we were also fast tracked as we had jobs to go to .Good luck
  14. My Husband has just recently come back after is dads funeral. He couldn't believe how much our small home town of Buxton in the High Peak of Derbyshire has changed, and not for the better either, we've only been gone 4 years so heck knows how you will feel 20 years on.Life is hard back there , no jobs , massive companies going into liquidation , by all means if you feel you need to go home you must do what your heart tells you , but prepare yourself for some shocks , the government do not hand out to their own so make sure your financially set up before you make the massive leap would hate for you to regret it like a few of my friends have done and are heading back to Australia again .Good luck x
  15. we never got a case officer at all.Submitted everything and one day turned computer on to see the words VISA GRANTED , it was pure Elation , i wouldnt worry too much everything comes TO THOSE THAT WAIT !!!.
  16. I totally feel the same , i would rather them come to us as they can see the life we have here , i spent too may years in the Uk and would like to visit other places that were only a dream from there. So in Answer to your question NO !!! your not on your Own , hubby just been back as he lost his father and he said it was quite depressing to how places had gone with the recession, like i said to me its not a holiday i would love all my family and friends to visit us.They too can have a holiday of a life time and understand why we did it .

  19. Hey my Husband did the testHE IS ENGLISH BORN AND BREAD . He FAILED it the first time by 0.5 of a mark ( was gutted ) there reason was NO FULL STOP at the end of one sentence.Costly for us we had to pay another 100 quid to do it again .Thank fully he passed it the second time all with 9's .

  22. My husband is a experienced Audi Mechanic with 30 years experience , Unless he is qualified to a specified dealership then he can expect to earn between $43,000 to $48,00 IF IN A DEALERSHIP THEN $52,000.This is based on a 38hr week with NO SATURDAYS how ever if up in the SUNNY COAST AREA it could be only about $48,00 in a dealership , you might get more if directly in the CBD.If he gets intouch with the dealership HE IS WITH IN UK , they can email vacancies from Australia to the same dealership here in Australia. We lived for 2 yrs on the Sunny coast near Mooloolaba and even with Lexis and Mercedes they could not match the money the Gold coast were offering my husband so we moved from Audi in the Sunshine coast down to the Gold coast where we have been for the last 17 months . Hope this helps. You also have to allow for medical expenses eg Dentist , Ophthalmic and your prescriptions how ever you may qualify for Medicare rebate .
  23. sometimes if you offer 3 months UPFRONT for the rent it can make a difference , As much as possible, Passports , Medicare card, driving licence , references , bank statements Proof of Job offer if you have one .You need to have 100 points for ID purposes
  24. My friend is a carpenter and been here 16mths, Applied for numerous jobs with no Avail , the only jobs that are about are through Agency (work) .He only gets a few weeks here and there and gets very frustrated when he gets no replies .He can apply for 50 jobs a day , he is extreamily qualified in his field and he has since traveled to McKay looking for work .He was lucky and picked up 8 weeks work laboring leaving his partner back here on the coast .Its tough here at the moment for trades people , just last week our lads friend who's father is a bricklayer they have been here just about 6 months finally threw in the towel and are heading back to the Uk next week. Its heart wrenching watch people struggle to build a new life , my advise to anyone wanting to come out now DO YOUR HOMEWORK , SECURE a JOB first because its been hard for us and thats what we did 4 years ago .Rents are not cheap , food is not cheap and its hard on one wage never mind without one.Good luck
