New Cat 4 July 1st 2011

I think that they will start Cat 5 next year, I spoke to my agent yesterday to ask about my application and its status the reply I got was that " Diac they expect to have cleared cat 4 by December and start on cat 5 in December so you should have your visa before Christmas" also if you look at the front page their aren't as nearly as much applicants on this cat as previous times before so it shouldn't take them as long to clear.

Tania:biggrin:

It is my sincere hope that you're right Tania since I am in Cat 4, but I also remember a bunch of people got an email awhile back stating they would have a CO by June and some haven't gotten it yet. That said, if they're increasing their ability to process applications (possibly by hiring more COs), then this might be happening.

Lets keep our fingers crossed for everyone's sake!

475 family sponsor applicants(Occupation is in the new SOL) are also in the new category 4 na?

:wubclub:

I got this from the Priority processing link on our front page and as you can see it shows the 475 in cat 3 and cat 4

Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) subclass 475 Cat 3 / Cat 4

Thanks Tania:biggrin:

Like I said this was what an Agent had told me so like you I hope she is right, If you look at the front page you will notice their aren't as many applicants as previous years so this should keep the queues down.

Maybe a lot of potential 175s who had enough points for a 175 but could get SS, probably went for the 176 SS because that is processed so much quicker.

176 Family sponsored applicants are in cat 4 now as of july 2011..... in the same cat as 175's

We're 176 Family Sponsored but I think I'm cat 5 as we don't have SS / on the SOL list ... am I right???

Yes I would agree with you their.

Yes the 176 does give you permanent residency.

Well I am sorry But I have to differ with you here, as not all the family sponsored applicants are in category 4. Only those who has the occupation on SOL 1 wth family sponsorship are on category 4.

Sorry virtual_bajwa my mistake yes they are in 4 if on the new SOL 1 and if not then cat 5.

Is it 475???

Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 475)

What does this visa let me do?

This visa:

allows you to remain in Australia for up to three years and requires you to live and work in a Specified Regional Area in Australia

allows accompanying secondary applicants to work and study, but only in a Specified Regional Area of Australia

provides a pathway to permanent residence.

I don't understand. How come these cat 4 (2011) have visa grant before other cat 4 pre 2011? Is it because they are onshore?

Yes definitely, Onshore 885 cat 4 (SOL 2011) are always way way faster.....just because they are ONSHORE and this is fair enough. they could be 1 or 2 years ahead from its 175 counterpart.
