Guest rocking adi
Thank you SHandGH for your input. I have called in DIAC and been advised the same. So one thing off the chest that even if I can not get it stamped I should not be worried. In between I am taking a 4 days off to NZ(Auckland). So that my case officer can send me the sweet gift of grant letter All the best for your application, I am sure you would get in here soon. Cheers Adi Adi, my understanding is that you do not need to get your visa evidenced on your passport. Your visa details are all on computer so there should not be an issue. Contact your agent or DIAC for confirmation and peace of mind. What's your plan? Are you going to take a weekend in New Zealand?

SHandGH
When you say election do you mean Labor Party leadership election or general election? Does anyone think that the political turmoil in Australia's Labor party will translate into longer wait times for grant/allocation? During the last election, I was lurking on this board, and it seemed to really jam things up...
hmsmark
When you say election do you mean Labor Party leadership election or general election? I was thinking that with the very thin margin with which the Labor Party maintains control, it might result in a general election someway. Or, with a leadership shakeup, there might be a new minister, new policy, and that might cause delays...

SHandGH
Since the next general election will have to take place in 1.5 years the Labor party may be looking for stability and might choose to retain Ms. Gillard as leader with the objective of avoiding a general election before then. On the other hand Mr. Rudd has a lot of support and the party may decide they have a better chance of success next time round with him at the helm. As we all know anything can happen in politics, and it usually does. I guess we should all be rooting for Ms. Gillard in the interests of maintaining the status quo with regard to immigration policy. I was thinking that with the very thin margin with which the Labor Party maintains control, it might result in a general election someway. Come on DIAC bring on the grants and case officers! Oh yeah, I for one think that 30 June will be finalised this week and then the July's!!! woo hoooooooo!! I really do believe that when DIAC processes the July's, they'll be able to process August's along with it because a considerably lower number of people have applied in those months in comparison to anything before or on June

Totally agree with you. Keep the STATUS QUO! Please, please, please NO MORE CHANGES!!!!!!!! - after 3 1/2 years of waiting and all the ups and downs, I, quite frankly, am sick to the back teeth of them! As everybody on here, I am a quite legit applicant and all I've ever asked for is a FAIR DEAL! Come on DIAC, keep up the good work and to all you politicians reading this forum, please, please, please let them carry on with their jobs and the good progress they are making.:realmad:
