User Name
Oh.....I was a moron to hurry up my application process and filed 885(IT recent grad) on 26th June. What a joke it has become. People who filed just after a week will be processed faster. Why did I do this , I wish I waited just 1 more week. I think DIAC is the moron for this mess. I too took extra subjects to beat any July changes only to be dumped in group 4.

Guest umairghias
I have been emailing Skills Australia. They said they have redirected the query to DIAC, and DIAC is working on a response. I have telephoned SkillAustralia myself today and they said they take the matter seriously. Well, we just have to wait, I guess. Here is the email that I sent to them: The response I got: So I emailed them back And their response was: At this point I lost my patience and actually called them up. (They gave the contact detail of an officer). They said they have consulted opinions of DIAC and officers working there and decided that it will be best answered by DIAC, and they take this matter seriously. I guess I just have to be patient to get the response from them. At least it won't be a copied-and-pasted bull****tery a lot of people in this forum is getting. Will post an update on this thread once I have the response. Hi , Did you got any response yet ? Also there is another thread which Jeffster is trying to make a complain.. Guest chajath
Hi ,Did you got any response yet ? Also there is another thread which Jeffster is trying to make a complain.. Regards, Umair Yes. She rang me back and asked why I can't go for ENSOL approach. I replied that this 65,020 income threshold is just impractical for any fresh grads to aim, to which she seemed to have agreed. Also, I have forwarded her the immi.gov.au link where 2231-79 MODL things are still mentioned, and this copied-and-pasted junk reply that I got from DIAC. This is our last correspondence: OK thanks, leave it to me and I'll get back to you asap. I am having a meeting with DIAC next Thursday 12 August. I will post updates as soon as I receive further communication from the Director.
Guest Seb
Hi.It would be best if people in NSW/Sydney can gather and start a similar group. I found that a lot of HQs are located in Sydney. There are a lot of people affected by this change in Sydney, I personally know one. If you are starting a group, I can refer him to you, I think. Would love to, but I am currently in Newcastle, which is about 2hrs drive from Sydney. It would be better to have someone in Sydney to coordinate things. No company wants to employ anyone on T.R or bridging visa . I was employed because i had a reference . I have had around 8 months experience now . Nobody can earn 65 K even after two to three years . They want fresh graduates who cant get a job to apply through ENS . What a waste solution ? Guest polkadot
@ Chajath, Can I just say many many thanks for your effort in this 2231-79 nec issue. I am also a GSM 885 applicant with 2231-79 with MODL (oracle specialist) under that "grandfathering" arrangement, hence Category 4. ACS assessed me with 2 years experience in Oracle. And you are most definitely right, for IT fresh grads getting the $65,000 salary is just impossible (to me anyway). My salary wasn't even close to that when I first started lol. Anyway, I am based in Melbourne. If you need me for anything this case related let me know.
Guest tyasawa
anyone in Brisbane? Regarding ENS.. as far as I know you'll need 3 years full time experience @_@ How is it possible for recent graduate?? And also even tho one get 65k salary, it's not that easy for employer to sponsor (training requirement etc). Unless they make it easier, it is just impossible for recent graduate to go straight to ENS. As some of you also experience it's quite a challenge to get job with bridging or even TR. Guest chajath
[/url] @polkadot - welcome aboard! we are thinking of meeting up next on 6pm 18th Wednesday @ Fed Sq. Would you be able to make it? Also, please pm me your contact detail so we can be in touch! @tyasawa - yeah that is true. ENS isn't exactly designed for existing 885 applicants to 'speed up' (read: make eligible) their applications, the sort of thing never once has happened in the immigration policy of any civilised society. (you either accept or decline the application, processed in due time. you never put them in limbo for 3+ years) Hope you can find someone in Brisbane and start own group in Brisbane. The more the better! @taesoku - hello and welcome to this forum. Hope you can organise a group based in Sydney. The role of people in Sydney would be crucial, since a lot of point of contacts to the government will be physically in Sydney.

Guest psharma
Hi All, I contacted DIAC today morning and the lady told me if I get the positive assessment for 261311 Analyst programmer from ACS, I will be able to get the priority 3 based on SOL-3 without lodging new application and will processed sooner. I lodged my application in Sept 2008 as a recent graduate and also had 1 year experience at the time of application. Today for the first time I got the positive response from DIAC but I am still unsure about this reassessment from ACS as it contradicts the new arrangements released on 14th July. I am going to call DIAC and ACS again tomorrow and gonna cross check this. Cheers!!!
