We we haven't really told to many people apart from close family and friends, and not even put on Facebook , due to my partners job ,like you pokies don't want to rock the boat till we have too. So when we put it on ,after OH send his notice in, and then put on Facebook, won't be to long after that we will go. So looks like May-June then or before we live in hope

 

How on earth have you kept that secret!

 

 

Lol! You're not the only one Jaclyn!! We have only told immediate family and the friends who wrote declarations for us as part of our application. Neither of us have told anyone at work, as we didn't want it to affect any opportunities that might arise. It's been a hell of a secret to keep and at times difficult when people are making plans and sending out invites! I suspect most people will be shocked when we tell them, as they have just assumed we will always live in the UK!

Can I just confirm that the eVisitor Visa doesn't start til the day you go to OZ??? We are now looking to get them and go in November which would be the 8 month mark......

 

Also does anyone here have L.... as their CO or had as their CO??? I don't even know what her surname is...........

I think the convention is to go by initials -please don't mention their full names as they are only doing their jobs!

 

Your 12 months starts from the day the evisitor is granted, Within that 12 months you can visit Aus as often as you like but only for 3 months maximum at a time.

Hey update for the table, we applied 29/10/2014 by way of paper application and our CO is KC

Hey u must be close, Jaclyn Hayes got her grant this week & she applied 6th October. Can I ask what time scale they gave u?

Hopefully they won't keep you waiting too long now. My grant came through on Wednesday (9 months, 2 weeks and 6 days) after my application!

Time scale given was 10-14 months.

 

That's fab, I've set a little calendar of 3 weeks 3 days from your approval to check our inbox. I've found myself obsessively checking it throughout the day now it's getting closer!

We are planning to head to Perth hopefully end of Feb 2016, as all my family are there so until we get our feet on the ground it will be a good base!

 

I bet you are so excited now, when are you off?! X

Hello! Just to let you know - it seems that not everyone's CO gets in touch. I applied last December and have never heard from anyone, except the original email letting me know they got my application. I was initially worried, so I looked into it on this and another forum, but I found later that many people with successful applications never heard from theirs either, so it means nothing. Actually, it most likely means that your application is really comprehensive and that they don't need anything more from you - they sometimes only get in touch if they need something.

 

In my case, I've wanted to contact my CO though to inform them of my eVisitor visa and trip to Oz. I sent an email to the European customer service desk and got one back from someone who said my CO has been informed, so I def have one, they just don't want to talk to me!

 

So, no stress about that! Good luck!

Ah well thanks for letting us know Eifster!

 

Maybe we wont hear anything from them then this week! I emailed to let them know I was in Oz too and got an email back saying the same ' your case officer will be informed' so there isnt anything more I need to get in touch with them about really!

 

I was just wanting the timeframes confirmed really lol!

 

It must be nice knowing your getting close now! exciting times!

So, if lots of you are planning to go in on Visitor Visas, what are you doing about shipping your stuff? Or are you all pesky minimalist lol? I thought you had to have a 'proper' visa to shift stuff over? Aha, just answered half my own question, the Aussies can ship in their names if they are on partner visas. It was more the PMVers I was wondering about.......

 

If I'm rambling and not making any sense whatsoever just ignore me!! I'll keep taking the meds......:confused:
